real food! I am still not there, I get them on monday. I went back to work on day 4 and seem to spend the rest of my time sleeping. I am a grocery cashier at a busy Fred Meyers store so there is no rest. The first day back was hard, but doing ok on day three. My hardest thing seems to be getting enough Water in. I drink it all day while I work, but it makes me burp! I also have to remember to quit drinking about 1/2 hour before I have my Soup or else I do not get to drink much of it. As for the BM I am in the same boat. I took something last night hoping to help it along, but nothing....I am not in pain so I guess it will happen when it happens. I talk to my dr this monday for my one week check up and will see what she thinks. My throat has finally stopped being sore in the morning and the dry mouth is gone, so I guess I am on my way. Hope everyone is doing well. Remember it is one step at a time...

Try the childrends gummy bear ones. They are pretty good and my dr recomended them to me. I got mine from costco and also picked up the gummy Fiber while I was at it.

Banded Yesterday, extreme pain!
brenda62 replied to sweetdrea11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on the 4th and am still sore, have not taken pain meds since the morning of the 7th. I had a timer and for the 1st 48 hours I took my meds every 4 hours and took advil also every 4 hours. So every two hours I was taking something. They also told me I could ice the first 24 hours and them after that I could use heat., I go back to work this morning and know I will probably have to take something since I stand on my feet for 8 hours. I am enjoying hot tea, and Soup right now. Good luck, hope you feel better soon. -
I had my done at Evergreen hospital in Kirkland (I went through N. W. weightloss ) I am having yougert in the morning and Soups the rest fo the day. Eat slower and and make sure you are only eating from your list . I am doing well with that. I was also told I can drink Protein Shakes now. good luck and hope you feel better.

I was told anything I can suck through a straw is fine. 2nd week for me is mushies and the third week I am supose to introduce solids. I t is interesting how good I feel two days out, lots of energy but I also need a little extra sleep. -
Hi my name is Brenda and I am 49 years old. I live in Washington State and am traveling to get my lap band done. Does anyone know how soon you can drive after. I am supose to be back to work on the 8th? So will have a three hour drive to get home. I have been on the 4 EAS drinks and one lean cuisine a day since 3/26 and have lost 12 pounds, today I am feeling kind of down and thinking of the things I can't eat after lap band. My approval went so fast that I heard from the Weight lose center on 3/25 and started diet on the 26th. I thought I would have some time for a few dinner out, but wow! Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to this, I just thing the whole thing is just getting to me. I am going to work soon and that should help because I will not be home alone and will have to put on my happy face. Only three days to go.....I can do this....my slimmer person is inside just weighting (lol play on words!) to get ou.

Had my surgery as planned. I was admitted at 10:30 am and on my way by 3:30 the same day. I am feeling pretty good. I had the patch(scopalamine patch) put behind my ear and have not gotten sick once. One piece of advice I got was great. I was told to take my Hydrococdone every four hours and to take 600 mils of ibuprofen in between so that I was taking something every .two hours. I bought a timmer so I would wake up at night to take it.. I have been eating a yougert in the am and Soup at lunch and dinner . I am not really hungary but was told we need to eat to heal. I do notice I am burping a little more right now and have a little pain when getting up and down, but other than that this has so far been pretty easy. Oh I did have a sore throat for bout 4 hours, but that is it. Hope everyone has a easy time with this as I did.

I I have had 4 c-sections, gall bladder removd and two cancer operations. So needless to say my belly looks like a road map. The only thing they are worried about is the scar tissue, which could cause the lap band surgery to take a little longer. They would not do it to you if they thought there would be a problems. Fears are normal, but we are strong women who are taking control of our lifes and making our futures better

I go in on the 4th also! I am soooooo ready to get on with my life. I work on my feet all day and am ready not to be so tired at the end of the day. I have been on my lovely diet since the 26th 4 EAS protien drinks and a lean cuisine a day. let me know how it goes for you , I would love to compare notes. Brenda

it's a great place, everyone who works in the office has been banded! The physc told me she was banded in Mexico before it became legal here. It really opens your eyes to see all the people who have been banded and done well. I think they have better answers and ideas to all the questions asked also.

How much weight was lost on liquid diet prior to surgery?
brenda62 replied to tryingtolose100's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amanda I have been using the same EAS Protein shakes and find that if I put the chocolate in a mug and heat it for two minutes it is almost a treat. -
Hi my name is Brenda and I go in the 4th of April! I am 48 and the mother of 5...24,22,19,17 and a 12 year old. I have to grandchildren that are 2 and 4 and so much fun. I am looking forward to the future for the first time in years, and I know it is becuase I know the band will change my life. I have had to wait two years to get it done. I had colon cancer and was told I needed to let my body heal first. So the time has come and I am also two years cancer free now! I started my pre op diet on the 26th of March and am down 12 pounds already. I have been trying to figure out how to get the weight loss ticker on here, but have only managed to get it on my facebook account. It is great to read about everyone on this site it is a great support. I live in East Wenatchee, Washington and am about three hours away from a support group. I have my families support, but this really helps. smiles Brenda
