Help, I am so confused :(

my was 52 back in April and is not 32 5 1/2 month later. It does work, I am down 107 with 37 left to go. People that say it can't be done are the ones that do not use their band as a tool to help them or the ones that do not have enough information on the band to understand it.

    Pity, party of one.......

I can't have the sugar free foods (due to the colon cancer) I have never heard this before. I am two years out of bad colon cancer and eat sugar free foods. Just wondering.....

it gets better quickly, don't give up or regret your band. We all have good days and bad days without the band. Just make sure to push the protein and go walking it will make you feel better.

    Getting Really Depressed

I am one of those people that have to eat more often.(6x a day) It works for me so I stick with it. yesterday I ate: Homemade latte (1 cup skim milk) activia yogurt mixed with kashi go lean 1/2 a apple salad for lunch(egg, cheese, onion, tomato,, deli meat, and about 1/2 cup lettuce) laughingcow ice cream bar (100 calories) (my treat because I do not limit myself) chicken Chili one wedge laughing cow cheese on wusa multi grain And lots and lots of water. I also go to curves 5 days a week and take a walk or ride 6 days a week. Hope this helps, but remember we are all different

    WEEKLY ENTRY- needing guidance

Cream of wheat has very little protein, I had it about a week ago for a change and was soooooooooo hungry and felt drained of energy. In the morning I usally eat an activia yogurt with kashi go lean in it. Gives me more protein and fills me up. I do eat every couple of hours though. I am just one of those people who need to and it works for me.

    Feeling fat oh i am

I am down 104 pound and have gone from a 26 to 14 and I still feel that way. I have 40 to go and have a hard time judging size. I have finally stop going to the plus size to look at clothes but that was a struggle in it's self. when you are in the habit of it, it takes a lot to change it. I have started asking co-worker what size they wear so I can get a better idea of where I am!
  13. It will continue to talk to you, some nights my gets so loud I just have to laugh!

    lapband vs gastric bypass

As for slower weight-loss it depends on the person. I go gung- ho on things and have loss 104 since 4/11. I have 40 left to loose and feel great. I have had 4 c-section and then 2 major cancer surgeries so there was no way I was putting my body through gastric bypass when the lap band could give me a healthier life. It all depends on the person and there motivation. One more thing I might add is I was back to work as a grocery checker on day 4.

    Totally Frustrated Newbie Needs Advice

I agree with Seanamw, You got a lap band not a magic wand. The lap band is a tool to help you loose weight and you have to have self control and work with it. It is hard work and you have to commit to making changes in your diet and exercise in order for it to work. Good luck
  16. I am going for 140, when I get there I will decide if I want to lose more. I am happy with my band and know it was the right decision. I was back to work on day four and have been going strong since.

    The Begining

Get copies of all your record showing these issues, also copies of records showing your weight for the last five years(one for each year)) Also write down all the diets you have tried. These are all things they will ask for and if you go to the doctors with them already you will be a step ahead. Where do you live in Washington, I am over in East Wenatchee and I had my surgery at northwest weight loss center in Everett. Also things to add to your list is acid reflex and cholesterol if you have those issues.

How much have you taken off???

Banded April 4, 2011. I have gone from 304 to 200! That is 104 pounds in 5 months. I work hard at it though and do not miss any workouts. I have gone from a size 26 to a size 14, my rings have gone from a 11 1/2 to a 8 3/4. and my feet have gone from a men's 9 1/2 EEE workout shoe to a women s 9 1/2 normal size! I am off my blood pressure and cholesterol medicine and have no more back or foot aches! Forty more to go...

    NSV

NSV got into a tight size 14! OMG I have not worn a 14 in over 25 years! Also bought new brooks, my old ones were a men 9.5 EEE, my new ones are a women s 9.5 ! Who knew are feet would loose so much! Have also gone from a size 11.5 ring to an 83/4. Weight loss has slowed down, but it is still coming off, only .8 of a pound and I will be in wonderland with 40 left to my goal. how is everyone else doing? Would love to hear about your nsv Brenda

    Getting Really Depressed

what are you eating? How much water are you drinking?
  21. brenda62

    sugar?

Sugar does not make you sick, but should be out of your diet if you want good results with your band. If you are going to have surgery you should follow the program. You want to loose weight and be healthy. Their are other forms of natural sugars you can use. Check with a health food store. I have not gained anything from " fake sugar" and continue to loose. Remember you can drink broths also which I felt gave me more of a boast energy wise.

    A little here and there...

I eat 6 times a day, because that is what works for me. I drink a lot of water and do go to curves 5 days a week and walk or ride 6 days a week. It is just getting yourself in the grove to do these things. Once you get going it will be easier and you can do it. Don't get down on yourself about the little things, you know what to do, just make up your mind and you will be fine

    I'm Back

You can do it! My last fill did the same thing to me...I now have to open up my effexor to take it, I am afraid it will get stuck. Oh well, life with the lap band! I have times where my depression is also worse, but I have to work through it and keep going. It is hard but it is something I have to do for myself. Good luck
