You have the courage to sign up for a pilates class. I was always afraid of getting down on the floor and not being able to get back up -

5 months and HOPELESS! Please help!
weho replied to Miters36's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you eating fruits and veggies? And drinking plenty of water? Have you talked to the surgeon or nutritionist about this? I have my days, but it usually corrects itself. So sorry you are going through this. My weight goes up and down like crazy...I only weigh in the morning for that reason. But that other issue needs to be addressed. Hopefully someone can help with this. -
Feeling Very Emotional - Surgery Tomorrow
weho replied to nowatgoal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to this side!! Glad you are doing well! -
Just to clarify: I only used the elliptical and crosstrainer (cardio) at the gym until 8 weeks post op when I was cleared to lift weights. I made sure that this was alright with my surgeon before starting. Obviously check with your surgeon to see what they would recommend. Good luck and enjoy!

Feeling Very Emotional - Surgery Tomorrow
weho replied to nowatgoal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh my gosh, my heart goes out to you. I was a nervous wreck the week before my surgery. The day before my surgery I cried on and off all day. And that was with having surgery locally and having my family with me for support. I will say a special prayer for you for strength and peace, and that the surgery will go perfectly for you. For me personaly the "after surgery" part was a breeze compared to the time leading up to surgery. I know that doesn't apply to everyone. When I woke up from surgery I was elated just to have made it through the surgery! It all seems so easy now looking back and I wish I hadn't stressed so much on it. This was one of the biggest decisions of my life, and definitely one of the best. Before you know it, you'll be a week post op and wondering where time has gone. Stay strong and know that it's all going to be worth it! Praying for you. -
I started walking around the neighborhood 3 days after surgery. I'd walk a block, then two, etc. One week after surgery I went to the gym and got on the elliptical. I started with 10 minutes and worked my way up from there. I wouldn't be afraid to exercise if you are feeling good. But be careful and start out slow and work your way up because it is real easy to overdo it without realizing it. If you feel like you are dragging the next day just scale it back a bit. Take care!

YAY!!! It feels good, ha?

Yes I tried pita bread at 4 weeks out, and it STILL does not go down well for me now even being 3 months out. I have not had any problems with pita chips though, but I couldn't eat those till I was 6 weeks out.

Tired after protein shake
weho replied to Nancy Rivers's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Maybe the sugar in the milk? Maybe the heat. Or maybe your body is tired and just really needed the extra rest today Journaling will help you pin down problem foods...good luck to you. -
I also drink a protein shake after going to the gym or at work when I don't have the time to eat. I think you shouldn't not rely on them too much, but use them to keep you from coming up short on protein. I am 3 months out and still drink at least one a day...but I like it. It's like a healthy snack for me. I drink EAS carbadvantage, only 3 carbs, low sugar and 17 grams of protein.

EEEEKS! Giving a go at pre-op diet..

Just keep your eye on the prize! It will be much easier post surgery, I promise. Good luck to you! -
What did everyone take to work with them that first week back at work? (food wise)
weho replied to Pinkbetty's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I was off for 3 weeks so when I returned I was eating pretty well. I took Starkist tuna kits, peanuts, and Austin peanut butter crackers. I would snack on a little of each when I had time. I am addicted to lunchables right now. I eat half for a snack and the other half for lunch. They are easy and quick to eat. I throw in a banana occasionaly. Wishing you the best! -
This looks great! I think that I would skip the corn...not a fan of corn. It seems like since my surgery I cannot get enough seafood! This ought to satisfy the cravings.

Tylenol PM? Sleeping Pills? Something? Buehler.. Buehler....
weho replied to Pinkbetty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took ambien the night before my surgery. The day of my surgery I was not allowed to take it, but two nights after I was able to resume it. Hope this helps. Good luck to you! -
2 Weeks out and Suddenly nauseous - CANT STAND LIQUIDS!
weho replied to erinawol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sure hope that you've called your surgeon and let him know what's going on! Do you think that it is mental? This is not normal obviously and your surgeon needs to know about this. Good luck to you! -
What a great feeling! Congrats on your success!

Does 1200 to 1400 Calories sound like alot to you?
weho replied to Adri's topic in Food and Nutrition
Ugh, this is a sticky topic with me. According to the dietician, she wants me eating at least 1200 calories with no definite number on carbs, but to be smart about them. Went for my 3 month post op visit yesterday and told the surgeon's assistant what she said and he disagrees. He says to not focus on calories, just make sure I'm getting my protein and fluids in and the rest will fall into place. Really? I'm almost three months out! I hate all of this uncertainty and conflicting information. I will just keep on doing what I'm doing because it seems to be working. It's interesting to see what others have been told. -
Really? Sorry, but no sympathy from me. You are doing great! I am lucky to be losing 2lbs a week at this point, but I'm not complaining. We will get there.

You and and your daughter look so beautiful together. You are an inspiration to those of us who still have a ways to go to reach 7 months. Congrats on your happiness with your decision, I am very happy with mine!!
