  1. Sorry its me again. I have since started throwing up, I was super light headed yesterday, but had all my protein and yesterday was the first day I was able to get 44 oz of fluid, the most I've had in two weeks. I am sipping now, but should I go to the doctor? I'm a little nervous!

My dear I have not been banded but I am a little over two weeks post op, my starting weight was the same as yours and I think you'll be great. I have experienced almost no hunger. There is a weird false sense of hunger you'll have if you don't take your prevacid, but really I've been very lucky. And even the hunger I have had hasn't been compulsive like it had been in the past. Also, if you need extra help like support groups or therapies don't be afraid to use them. You will succeed at this!!!!

    Dehydrated?

Thanks all! I have been buying route 44 waters from sonic and nursing those throughout the day. That seems to help. I'll get there soon enough, it was really great how helpful the dr's office was though.

I think my recovery has been a bit slow, and unfortunately so has my weight loss. I can't wait to be at a more normal place. I had to call my doctors office yesterday because I thought I was dehydrated, and she said I had misread my food plan and had skipped a phase so I am back on full liquids. Boo!! I need to do measurements so I can have something more positive to see. My friends and family all say I look differently but the scale has been stuck this week.
  7. As I've gained weight I have gotten rid of the sizes I don't fit in. I am toast! Each time I get through a size its gonna be shopping for me. Okay wait that sounds fun! But, you know what I mean its gonna be expensive!!!!

Welcome!! I am only two weeks out from surgery and feel very grateful already. This is a great board, there are loads of people who can offer advice or just a listening ear. I hope May 12th flies here for you!!!

Okay, I tried with a route 44 sonic ice water (I love their ice, weird I know!) I had no notable difference inhaling air with our without it and I end up drinking more, so...to each his own!

    Dehydrated?

Funny you should mention that! I had posted a question about that too. I had my first BM in over two weeks today. And though this is TMI my tummy was so relieved!

Straws? Can anyone shed some light for me?

Well I may have to give it a whirl, cuz liquids have been difficult and I LOVED drinking with a straw.

    Dehydrated?

Thank you all! I like being able to feel so much support here. I've been blessed to have support in my outside life as well, but no one else can understand this journey unless they are on it too. Thank you!!!

A few things: If you are a soda addict I would get rid of that. It is not something that can come back into your life at least until your at goal and for many of us its something we won't be welcoming back at all. Also, others may disagree with this statement but I am speaking from my own opinion, don't get too obsessed with the food changes just yet. Learn everything you can, but be careful to not get into the mindset that you are saying goodbye to everything. I did that and ended up absolutely obsessed with eating all these foods because I felt like I needed to really grieve their loss, its not true. You will be able to eat everything, just in small, small portions! I think making some gradual and small changes is great. Practice having a Water bottle with you all the time and staying hydrated. Also, if you can get into even a simple exercise routine, whether it be walking or something more advanced, you decrease your risk of so many surgical complications, especially blood clots. Good luck to you!

Straws? Can anyone shed some light for me?

You will be able to feel it once you are sleeved, but that gap at the top of straw where you are just sucking in air before you get to the liquid, is about how much my stomach can hold. You will just be filling you belly up with air if you use a straw and getting liquids in is already very difficult.

    Medications

Do not miss your anti depressants! I am on a super small dose of celexa, and didn't take it post op and didn't alert my doctor to it because I also have epilepsy and they were giving me my seizure meds via IV. I figured I was okay, but missing a few days, anathesia in my body, starting my period, and the stress of such a life altering event left me with a lot of anxiety for about 3 days. It is not worth it. Take good care of yourself physically and emotionally. You deserve the best!

    Dehydrated?

I checked with Gabby at Dr. A's office and she said that I am graduating food stages too quickly. I reread things and she's right. I thought I was being extra cautious, but nope, I wasn't supposed to have pureed tuna or scrambled eggs for another week. She told me to go back to full liquids and focus on getting liquids in. I can even drink high carb drinks like apple juice as long as I am focused on hydration at this point. I feel kind of dumb that I misread things, but I appreciate the encouragement to give them a call, now I know just what to do.

Yeah I got the idea from eggface. I made it with 2 scoops protein and brown cow greek yogurt and a little water and sugar free syrup. It still doesn't taste like Ben and Jerry's but it was a super nice change. The texture is really yummy, and it was my full days protein, which I am having a really hard time getting on mushies.

    TMI but help?

Thanks all! I appreciate the advice. I am still not able to get in more than about 44 oz of water daily. I'm sure thats a huge contributor. I also don't want to go to all this work to get healthy and neglect this magical area and end up with colon cancer or some other horrible thing later in life! Thanks all!
  23. I'm two weeks out today and from a week ago to now is even way different. There is a tricky learning curve though and no matter how much people tell you to sip you will mess up for a little while until you figure out what a drink is really like for you. I do best if I always have my water with me and then I don't get so thirsty that I feel like I need a huge gulp.
