Menu Planning question oh and bison!

Yeah, I am a huge baby about what I eat. I next need to learn to incorporate fish, but the only time I like it is when I lived in Washington and it was actually fresh. You are very lucky!

    Date changed

This may sound kookie, but there was something very comforting to me about being on liquids, I knew precisely what the rules where, I knew that my sutures would be safe, I knew I wouldn't be consuming too much, and I knew that if I focused I could be hydrated and get in all my protein. There are times that it is emotionally challenging, but it can be a big boost to your weight loss and I always think its a good idea to respect the post op diet. Good luck to you! And how exciting to get a two day head start.

Why does my stomach react to sweet things?

I remember Vegas Angel talking about it and I think if they do a swallow test on you they can see if that is whats going on. I don't know what the treatment would be.

    Clear Liquids Only Stage?

If you are within 30 days of purchase you can return things to GNC
  6. Hi, I have read loads of your posts and looked at your blog. I think it is so exciting that someone can travel such a journey. I have always had a competetive nature and even used to love running and exercising. At what point in your journey did you start such intense training? What type of exercise did you do early on?

Why does my stomach react to sweet things?

Have they ever checked you to see if you are having spasms?
  8. I had some post op issues, but pain wasn't the main deal. Surgeons really don't want you to experience loads of discomfort, really advocate for yourself. Let em know if you hurt or need nausea meds or if you can't sleep. Those first few days rest is uber helpful those first few days.

    14 Weeks out

    You rock!!!!!!!!!
  10. Tiff you sexy woman! I love the dress. It is exciting to have glimpses of having my body and soul be in sync. Tonight I swam and felt like I was in complete control of my body. It felt like heaven.
  11. I am so thrilled to hear from you! And you are doing so well with fluids. Keep it up!
  12. Oh yes it gets easier!!!! And when I ate a popsicle a few days post op my life was changed, Angels sang, fireworks, such magic! You really won't recognize signals yet. Measure and go super slow. I have an egg timer next to my bed for fluids and still over a month out have to set it for 15 minutes then drink. It really is worth it to go slow. I slimed on water a few times and it is nasty! But I swear on everything holy this gets better. Ask anyone on here who was reading my posts a few weeks ago and I was not a happy camper. Tonight I went swimming and it was bliss to feel like I was in control of this body of mine. I have energy again, and I am a happy lady! Good luck to you!!!

    Am I stupid..hmmm

Tiffany the first 2-3 weeks I really was so swollen internally that I could not feel what full felt like. The triggers are weird and full doesn't feel quite the same as it did preop. Measure and then you'll be sure and if you do start to get a runny nose, sneeze, or feel tightness cut it off even if you can't finish. And you aren't kookie for wondering about a leak, or if you are so am I. I asked about a week out because when I would drink it was uncomfortable and I had visions of gatorade seeping through my body cavity!

    It's a FAT day...

Mini, I adore you! So, you had a crap day and you dealt with it with food. Guess what? If you are anything like me you did that more days than you didn't before your surgery, and guess what, you have gone 90 days and that hasn't been your norm. You have learned, you are getting it. Shame and guilt are the easy way to go, but that will only create that ugly cycle we all know about where tomorrow you will eat because you feel crummy about today. Don't punish yourself, you are a grown ass woman and can eat candy if you want. Instead retrace your steps and see what triggered you, and where you went wrong. I had a three minute moment of insanity the other day and I realized that every day from about 3 to 6 I still get hungry. I was out and about and instead of waiting fifteen minutes til I could get home and regroup and make a good plan I blew it. I hated those feelings being in me again. I hated feeling like I wasn't in control of my own body. But I was wrong, I am. You are too. Today you learned something from this I'm sure, that leaves you even more prepared for tomorrow. Hang in there lady!
  15. WOOOOHOOOO! Take good care of yourself this little while, how exciting!

Why does my stomach react to sweet things?

I get the airy gurgley burp thing too. Mine isn't food specific, but I notice it based on how quickly I am eating. I am still horrible about speed. I think I'm going slow enough sometime and then quickly realize, I'm not.
  17. I don't know that I am actually answering your question here, but if you have done all of your homework and you like the ups and downs of the two surgeries, thats what matters. The thing that I have noticed is that for some reason as humans we get UBER defensive about the decisions we have made and see it that someone is saying our decision is wrong if they make a different one than us. If you look at the various wls forums, people are very defensive of their brand of surgery, their surgeon, their post op plan. It helps us feel secure in what we've actually done.

What are you doing to get moving today?

Okay so here is my new and revised game plan: Wednesday: Swim w/clients at rec center Thursday: Swim w/clients at rec center Saturday: Workout at SARC do 30 min treadmill
  19. Don't feel silly. There was a small and irrational part of me that felt like after I felt so crappy post op, I should get to arrive home thin! One thing I think I need to do and that may help you see results is taking your measurements. Then the other thing I need to do that may be of comfort to you is have a set time/day of week that you weigh, then nothing else. Create goals for yourself that have NOTHING to do with weight, but that might be, this week I will be able to counter every negative thought with three positive, or this week I will park my car as far from every store as possible. As for the actual loss, I would certainly add more calories, most of the guidelines I can find this early are about 600-800 calories, and that if you think about it is really not much. This is still your fuel, and if your body isn't fueled it won't be able to help you in all the ways you need it to. Have you ever heard about shocking your body into weight loss? This can be through things like calorie variances, or doing something physically that your body has no muscle memory to do. Mix it up! You can do this. I posted elsewhere that my weight does this weird hover thing every week where it will dance around about a three pound area and then BAM one day it is down, to a number I haven't seen in a while and I get to do a happy dance, but if I let all those hovers get to me I would be at the drive thru at burger king daily! It really will happen for you.

What are you doing to get moving today?

Yikes, so I am still struggling to be motivated, but had been excited that I could take the clients I work with daily (adults w/cognitive disabilities) on walks around the river, they all have exercise goals as well, but today I wake up after a night of crazy wind and it is snowing like crazy. Hmmmmm I guess I need a new plan?

Hey Wendy, If you can't sleep and want something they will give it to you, hopefully rest came your way. Good call with the scales. I am driving myself crazy and I've learned that my scaled hovers for about a week then BOOM one day it is drastically down, it ends up leaving me disappointed 6 out of 7 days! I really need your daughter to come get my scale too.

    New to chat forums

Be sure to ask for help, physically or emotionally if you need it. Don't compare your journey to anyone elses and be super patient with yourself. You will be great!!!
  25. I am so excited for you!!!! Take it easy and of course do your walking and sipping! You are in my thoughts.
