Banded 4.18.12 And Frustrated
Lollicatt replied to susiedreamer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are only 3 weeks post opp so this next couple of weeks are for healing, not losing. Not to burst your bubble but you will also probably go into bandster hell as well and that will take pure willpower until you hit the green zine. Sorry to be so blunt but I'm just amazed how many surgeons don't priority educate patients on this process. Its very slow but once you hit the green zone the weight will just fall off. I've been ba nded since 10/27 and I just hit it with my April fill. Its such a difference and wonderful. You are doing well at 14lbs lost in a couple of weeks. Just hang in there and keep up the good work and take this time to learn to eat like a banter. -
5'4 Whats Your Goal Weight?
Lollicatt replied to JanellesMommy8210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5"3, my original goal weight was 145 but I think that's still considered overweight for me but I'd be totally happy. Right now I'm 191, started art 238 at pre-op liquid. -
I cut up zucchini into pasta like noodles. Its wonderful!

Unfortunately, no. Apparently I am very sensitive and anything over .5 filled At once and I swell up like crazy. But I couldn't even get down thick liquids like protein drinks and such. As soon ad they unfilled me and the swelling went down I was pretty loose again . But the next fill got me where I am now and I'm definately in the green zone! I just have top take it slow with fills and I'm okay with that. But think liquids and purees should never be a problem or hurt going down.

I had the same issue with yogurt and smoothies hurt going down. I was to tight. They unfilled me. 5 and IT helped a lot.

I usually stall and then lose all at once until I hit the green zone. Now that I'm here its been pretty consistent. -
Curious About Weight Loss Results
Lollicatt replied to justme565's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 10/27/11 and am down 46LBS including what I lost in pre-op. For me, its been kinda slow but I'm very happy with my progress. I know that there are others here that have lost allot faster. My goal is approx 90lbs so I'm halfway there! -
Am The Only One Freaked Out By Shirleys Post??
Lollicatt replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am, although I still don't understand how it engulfed her lung and caused seizures. That's really scary. There could have been more wrong than just the band, not trying to sound un caring. But the could have been more underlying issues that caused the band to react the way it did. I do h ope her and family find peace after this. -
Wow, so sad. She was such a wonderful lady and supporter of all of us. My deepest condolences go out to her family.

Ready For My First Fill 9 Months Post Surgery!
Lollicatt replied to Kimiky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Such a beautiful surprise! -
So I believe that after 6 or so fills, I am finally in the green zone! I now have to take itty bitty bites and must chew chew chew or I'll get stuck. I also had my first stuck episode this weekend and it was horrifying. Took about an hour to go down. I'm not excited about that but from that experience, I now know this thing is really working! I know that this could change at a drop of a hat, but I'm still excited to be here.. .for now. Just wanted to share! :-)

I Think It's The Green Zone!
Lollicatt replied to Lollicatt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The green zone is where you have enough restriction to eat comfortable, but just not very much. Eat very small bites and must chew tie food well so you dont get stuck. It takes everyone a different pace to get here. I, unfortunately, am very sensitive and any time I got a fill larger than .5 cc, I had to rush back for am unfill because I would swell up and couldn't even get Water down . So I only have 5cc after 6 months. I wish I head a better explanation for you. Anyone else? -

I Think It's The Green Zone!
Lollicatt replied to Lollicatt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine said the same thing and I have no intentions of doing that. I can see why people would though because it's no fun being stuck but vomiting and slipping scares the bageezus outta me. I just really have to focus on eating small bites, because I honestly haven't head to worry about that until now. -
Smoking Cigarettes With The Band...
Lollicatt replied to LULU TATT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a smoker. My doc said the same thing so I just didn't smoke before surgery. I did on the way home and IT was a great cigarette!! I'm still alive and healed just fine. :-) -
