12 days post op!! Loving this already!!
Lollicatt replied to Dawn102611's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello - I started mushies today so I thought I'd help out and answer your questions as well. 1. What you are eating? - Today for lunch I had 2 turkey meatballs (mashed) and 1/2 cup of mashed potatos, i ate the whole thing with no problem ( I have ZERO restriction) 2. What you are drinking and if you can drink diet soda? - I drink Crystal light 24/7 - no sodas. My doc said it stretching your pouch is a bunch of balogna since it just slides through the band but it's empty calories and carbonation gives you bad gas. 3. What kind of Vitamins are you on and do you have any problems keeping them down? I take the Flintstones gummies, 2/day. I have no problem getting them down, even from day one. Some people have restriction right off the bat though, I didn't. 4. How often do you eat and can you tell me about how much you can eat at one setting? EX.. 1/4 or 1/2 cup of food? I eat 3xs/day (well drink Protein for bfast, eat for lunch and dinner), my lunch today was about 4 oz. 5. Any pain from the surgery and how long did the pain last if any? Very painful the first 3 days, but with good pain meds you'll be okay. I started to feel much better 4-5 days out until I bent over and squashed my insides (port area), but I still can't sleep on my stomach. 6. Do you feel hungry? I started to get my appetite back during the puree stage, but since lunch today, I am full and very satisfied 7. Was there a period before surgery that you had a limited diet and if so what? Yes, i had 2 weeks liquids. Protein drinks 2x/day and for dinner, 4oz of lean meat and 1 cup of veggies -

POLL: When could you wear a bra post-op?
Lollicatt replied to FromPrisoner2Pioneer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im two weeks post op and I have an incision right on my bra line. Ive worn a bra a couple of times but it irritates that incision. I go back to work on thursday so I'm gonna have to wear one. -
Im a stomach sleeper too. Its been about two weeks since surgery and I still can't do it. I have turned in my sleep twice and it woke me up. I can't wait till its comfortable for me to sleep on my stomach again.

I was banded on 10/27. Im feeling so much better but my port site is still pretty sore. I have 5 incisions, 4 keyhole size and port incision is about 1 1/2 inch. I had to do two weeks of liquids pre op, one week thin liquids post op, one week of thick liquids and pureed food, one week of mashed food, then you can start working in solids. But docs have different requirements. The first week after surgery I was not hungry at all, now my appetite is back but I'm hanging in there.

Hey! I stated a big during my preop that includes some recipes to make it more interesting. Ive also continued with the recipes post op and others have found it helpful. Check it out at http://bandipes.blogspot.com

You're lucky, I am 9 days post op and I have zero restriction plus my appetite has returned. I was fine until about two days ago and my hunger is getting worse by the day.
-
Have you or someone you know attempted to eat solid food prematurely?
Lollicatt replied to Drewsky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, im 9 days post op. well im still following my doc s orders but I did have a bite of my sons pizza. I was scared but I have zero restriction and I chewed it probably about 40 times lol. I won't have another bite but I'm fine. I still have one week left of mushies and I'm clear.to start working in solids. -
