  2. Happy 44th Birthday nikkip!

  3. I think you should go to your doctor ASAP. It may be something small but equally you are in pain so you could possibly have a slip or your port may have twisted or bulging. It is hard to tell but in anycase if you can not get to the doctors immedietly go back to as much of a liquid diet as possible so that it is easier on your stomach. Good Luck:redface:
  4. Hi Ladies, I have had my band for two years and have lost aroun 50lbs. I exercise three to four times a week. Initially you will have no restriction as they want the stomach to rest before they fill and that is very important. Try to eat really slowly and as soon as you feel full and satisfied stop, then if you really feel you want more eat it. Again eat it very slowly and you will find that you will not only feel fuller you will not like the taste of certain foods that you are eating. Good luck. x
  5. Thanks, I have had my band in for two years now. The plates make a vibration so that is what I was wondering about. Wouild the vibrations do anything to the stomach?
  6. Hi, I have a funny taste in my mouth after eating and my food is not digesting at night. I can now eat more than I used to on some occasions does anyone know what is wrong? Also can we use the power plates at the gym?
  7. Hi I think that you should get this checked out. I know that the coughing at night is a sign of a slippage because I had it. Do not wait it is better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully it is not too bad and something can be done. Good luck Regards Nikki
  8. Hi, Are you drinking the protien shakes that they recommed after surgery. I drank ensure type shakes and it brought on some pretty nasty symptoms when I rang the nurse she said it was called dumping syndrome and the sugar was causing it. hope you get better soon. N x
  9. yeah...I think so. But don't be tempted. Just think to yourself you don't need that stuff and also think to yourself that you do not want any complications like the band slipping causing the risk and inconvenience of further surgery which is exactly what happend to me and I was being careful. Also have a positive image in your head about how nice you are going to look when you you start getting slimmer! Good luck N x
  10. Hi Emmy, I think you should talk to your consultant or nurse. I live in the uk and I suspect you live in the US so I don't know what the aftercare is like there, but you should be able to speak to someone. Did you follow the liquid diet then the sloppy and eventually the meats etc? We were told no bread and rice for at least three months after our op. I would get it checked out just to be safe. Hopefully all is well. Good Luck Nikki x
  11. Hi There, My band slipped last month and I just felt I could eat more and there was a funny feeling in my stomach like the food went in then dropped. After a few days I started getting acid reflux and the worst thing I got was coughing all night one night. The food was just coming up in the form of acid. I insisted on having a flourscopy x ray and it showed the slippage. I had an op to reposition it on 26 may and am on liquids now. I was banded in November. Hope that helps. x
