post op 6 weeks...burping after everything that I eat or drink is this bad?
atPeace55 replied to Jersey Nurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Haha yeah my husband is a comedian as well - he puts his hand on my stomach and says "I know I know but i'm trying to watch the game right now!" Guuuurl he makes me laugh all the time messing with me and my noises! -
I went to a party and had it done on my arms and inner thighs and I lost an 1inch on each arm and 1/2 inch on each thigh. But it's all pretty temporary it's like a detox you have to drink lots of Water and eat very light and do a brisk walk or exercise before you come. Bought a few to support my girlfriend and that was it. Here's the paper that they gave me with tips for before you come to the party. Not endorsing but keeping you informed. Ultimate Body Wrap Tips: 1) Before you wrap: Try to get some exercise. (It doesn’t have to be much, just a walk will do. This helps to get your blood moving and it stimulates your lymphatic system. ) AND HYDRATE!!! HYDRATE!!! HYDRATE!!! (Your body cannot move those toxins on out if you don’t pee!) Make sure to drink extra water prior to wrapping and after wrapping to ensure you are not dehydrated and just replenishing those fluids needed in your system. 2) When you wrap: Your skin needs to be clean and lotion free (shower or clean with alcohol). MEASURE in 3 places. 2” above your belly button, your belly button and 2” below your belly button. Use a sharpie to mark the exact location you are measuring so you know you measure the same place each time (try to measure on your side so the marks don’t come off while you wrap). Take a picture so you can compare later. Apply your wrap with the lotion side on your skin and smooth it out. Cover with cling wrap to hold it in place and protect your clothing. If you are doing curvy areas (i.e. waist or butt) rotate the cling wrap roll 180 degrees as you go around the “bends” to allow you to pull it tighter. Then smooth all the air out so you have maximum contact with your skin. Although the cling wrap does fine by itself, try to wear clothes that help hold it in place (Yoga type works great). 3) While you are wrapped: HYDRATE! HYDRATE! HYDRATE! Do not work out. Don’t sweat. Sweat will inhibit the absorption of the good stuff. Wait at least 45 minutes before you unwrap. You can wear it up to 8 hours. 4) After you unwrap: Rub all the extra lotion in. MEASURE on the same spots as above. Continue to hydrate. Measure again in 24 hours. Hydrate. Measure again in another 24 hours. It takes up to 72 hours before you see the full results. Email total results to Dianna at WrapQueen@ymail.com. If you are happy with your results please write on my page at https://www.facebook.com/Wrap2Shrink, if you are not PLEASE CALL ME! Every single BODY is different. Many people that follow these directions lose 1-3 inches in 72 hours. Sometimes people don’t see immediate results. Some people see an increase during their wrap period. DO NOT BE ALARMED OR DISAPPOINTED! This effect is called “toxic bloat” and is caused by your body’s reaction to the increase in “floating” toxins. Often it is these people that end up with the best results at the end of their 72 hours. Some people require more than 1 wrap before they see visible results. If you happen to fall into this category be sure to check with me so we can talk about the reasons people don’t lose inches sometimes. Keep in mind that if you eat junk you will replace all the stuff you just took out and your results won’t last as long. If you make good food choices (try to eat fresh organic food without preservatives) and you exercise your results will last much, much longer. If you are dehydrated, you will not be flushing out your system. The water you will be consuming will in fact store in your system to rehydrate itself. You must drink extra water to flush the toxins out. If you are not using the restroom at least once every 2-3 hours, you are not drinking enough water. Your urine should be very clear. The more color, the more dehydrated your body is. This is not a substitute for making healthy choices. If you have health issues PLEASE take the ingredient list to your Dr. for review BEFORE you use this or ANY product.

How are you doing on the emotional side of being obese?
atPeace55 commented on CherylA's blog entry in CherylA's Blog
You will be amazed at what your able to do when you drop your first 25-50 lbs. And I hope you share with us all your experience and how it feels once you do!! I wish you well with your surgery! -
bake or boiled sweet potatoe, cream of rice (alot smoother than cream of wheat), boiled chicken thigh (shredded) you can make chicken salad or mix a little with your refried beans, mash potatoe and turnip or parsnips (boiled) mix together with a littel salt and peper is so good! Hummus, yogurt, cream of brocolli (low sodium).

post op 6 weeks...burping after everything that I eat or drink is this bad?
atPeace55 replied to Jersey Nurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't burp but I definitely have the gurgling sounds as I type this i'm hearing them because I drank my protein shake! LOL And i'm 22 months post-op it hasn't gone away yet for me! My husband gets a kick out of the different sounds my throat and stomach make after I eat or drink...I'm use to it now but I hate it when i'm out to eat some place not so loud or we have a potluck or a work luncheon - I barely eat because I don't want people to hear my noises. -

Skin... what can we do to help our skin?
atPeace55 commented on Amberlydw8's blog entry in Amberlydw8's Blog
I have to check out this skin brushing! -
If it persist I would definitely check in with your surgeon or your nurse practiioner. It will probably pass but i'm not an expert - be safe rather than sorry and just check in if it lingers on.

is it gonna work?
atPeace55 replied to Mastiff_mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to see that the people who have responded are being encouragers and not "Debbie Downer's"! Hang in their ladies your bodies are recovering still believe it or not! This is such a common topic on here you can search for it and you will find lots of folks with this concern. It will get better you will start losing again - just try to stick to the phase(s) and drink lots of fluids it you are unable to get enough in try making crystal light popsicles or eating ice chips to stay hydrated and the most important keep moving - walk, walk and walk until you get the go ahead to do more exercising. Also, if you can try not to continually look at the scale everyday - you're body is going to go change but it you keep watching numbers you may get discouraged - remember muscle weighs more than fat so if your working out and gaining muscle it may look like on the scale that you are going up in weight but muscle looks alot better than fat. I always went by how my cloths fit - did not look at a scale for the 1 year they weren't allowed in my house they only time I knew what I weighed was when I went to my 3, 6 and 12 month post op appts. This is what worked for me not saying it will for you. Good luck and I wish you much success!!! -
I have UHC and they asked for 5 years of weighin and what my NP told me was to gather all my weighins from rountine dr. visits, urgent care, ER and OB/GYN visits anywhere I was weighed collect that information and then we took one weighin from each year that put me at obese per BMI and their standards. Don't know if that's what you did or not but - it worked and I was approved.

Will orange juice do me harm?
atPeace55 replied to Gabi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everything in moderation, I have a nutribullet and I use two fresh oranges in some of my drinks (I add Water as well). But I would consult your Nutrition/Nurse Practioner/Surgeon to be sure. Caffeine is not good for you as sleevers either but I don't drink them everyday either. If I do have a soda or orange juice I dillute with water. Please not that I am by no means advocating for you to do so it is just what I do and it works for me. -

Sorry to hear that although I too work from home and had a similar episode I went to my post-op appt to be released for work but I had been feeling very week and dehydrated. I 30 min post-op appt. turned into me being taken downstairs to ER, IV for fluids and a serious of test and scans - the found gallstones and I ended up staying in the hospital for 8 days in that time I had two upper GI's and then finally have a gallbladder removal. Things happen that we can't control. But, I'm still here and i'm fine now. You take care and get well soon!

You still be in the phase part of post op! Don't worry it gets better, have you tried other mushy's such as mashed sweet potato or eating some hummus, putting a little cinnamon or nutmeg in your Protein shake to give it a different taste? Like a said it will get better just hang in there and vent away better out than in! -
