[font=comic sans ms, cursive]I have struggled with weight most of my life. The first time I realized I was overweight was when I was about 11. I remember shopping with my grandmother and my size was 13/14. I trimmed down in high school, but after that I got heavier and heavier year after year. I tried dieting (you name it, I did it) and the most I ever lost was 40 lbs. but then always went back to my old ways and eating habits. Before I knew it I was 280 lbs., with high blood pressure, aching bones, urinary incontinence, no energy and feeling twice my age.[/font]

[font=comic sans ms, cursive]In November of 2010 I went for a consult for bariatric surgery and decided I would have the sleeve. That changed everything! I was sleeved on January 31, 2011 and today I'm down to 165 lbs. The sleeve has helped me change my eating habits. The big difference between my dieting and the surgery is that I'm satisfied now when I eat small portions. I enjoy what I eat and I choose wisely (most of the time ). Don't get me wrong; there are challenges with this too. You have to follow doctor's orders and eat properly. The beauty of the sleeve is it gives you time to get your act together and a jump start your weight loss. I know I couldn't have done it without it. [/font]
