I have been up and running after surgery. I went to see my doc about a week after surgery because of pain I was feeling. My doc was in awe that I "looked" so good after surgery. He rest assured that the pain I was feeling was from the sutures that was used to close up the muscle opened during surgery. He just mentioned to be cautious about hernias and not to lift anything too heavy. Now I am paranoid that discomfort I may be feeling could be just that. For those who have had a hernia after WLS, how did you know? What set the light bulb off that something was wrong?

I need to begin phase II of this journey....I next goal 35 lbs! 100lbs down....any suggestions?!
-
p.s. I gained .4 about the same time after surgery!!!!
-
Yes, do not weight too often. I mean you just had surgery and your body is still in shock. Plus you are changing from one type of diet to another. We can not hold as much food as we used to so you are GOING to lose! Guaranteed! .4 could just be from fluids, or diet change or salt intake. Be encouraged! We are making this happen!

Hi All, So I have been hearing both on VST and on TV news segments that people are loosing over 100lbs in 6 months after surgery. I am concern that I have not been losing as well as I could. Let me say that it will be a year December 10th I have lost 80+ pounds, which is great and it shows but I am thinking that I need to go back and replace some meals with protein shakes and cut back on some things. What is your take? Any recommendations? Thanks! we11ro

I have a co-worker that I am close to and have not told. I have someone I consider a step-mom that I have not told. I do not think I owe anybody exclusive information on my life unless I am led to. They should all respect that. Obviously your health and well-being is not of concern here...just her feelings. She will be ok and so will you. Keep focus on your goals...

Hello Flirty Thirties Crew!!!! Just turned 33 a few days ago!!! Woo-Hoo!!!! Boy how time flies! I am so super excited to be taking back my life and beginning this new journey! It makes me look forward to my 40s (no rush however) THAT much more!!! Bye the way....I agree with the fashion trends of the 80's coming back wit a VENGEANCE! Not only are skinny jeans, plaid shirts, converse, leggings and the like back in fashion but what about these haircuts?? LOL...mohawks, flat tops, "gumby." I literally was at a stop light and there was a some high schoolers who were waiting at the bus stop...a girl looking like Jody Watley with leggings, a ruffle skirt and big hoop earrings and a guy looking like Will Smith as the Prince of Bel Air!!!! Too funny! It was like I was in a time warp! Cheers! -

Everyone Says Something Different!
we11ro replied to armstrong1003's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Hey all, Do what works for you. Do your own research. I can only go off of what the professionals who study and do this everyday tell me. My thing is when in doubt ask the person who you trusted your life to perform the surgery and the people who work closely with them. If I had it all figured out I would not even be here to begin with. The thing I notice on here is that each person's experience is their own. There may be some useful information on here but a lot of information is opinion and what works "for me". I do not want to offer advice that is just my routine and possibly harm someone else's progress. So do you but always seek professional advice and do your own research. Happy Weight loss!!!!! T -
Do u think one 1/2 glass wine
we11ro replied to Wildorchids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a glass of wine and it was fine on my tummy but heavy on the head. So just sip slowly and make sure you have eaten prior. Of course...I would confirm with your nutritionist. Happy Birthday!!! -

I think there is definite reasoning behind the wait time but like you there have been times I needed to sip some Water because either my food was sticking in my chest or I was extremely thirsty. I do agree that is also hard to get my liquids in with all this wait time but to be careful not to stray to far away. With many things I am learning that other people's experience is not my own and vice versa. The guidelines are to make us optimize the most out of this weight-loss surgery and if we decide to alter or change it we deal with that consequence or decision. Do what works for you but definitely keep the guidelines in mind! Eat drink and be merry! HA! Cheers! T
