I'm almost a year out and still have this problem, so annoying! I still have times where I wont go for days! I take colace everyday and every few try to take miralax or something similar. I think for most of us its just something we will have to deal with. -
Splenda, Equal, Saccharin, Xylitol And Other Sugar Substitutes

I will say I am a Splenda addict lol.. But I have cut done some, its hard but Im trying. For me though I think it makes me crave sugar a lot more! I have always loved sweets pre-op, but I was more of a carb junkie then a sweets person, now I feel like I am always craving sweets. I did buy some Stevia in the raw to try out instead of splenda. -

Most surgeons do, when I went in for my consult he asked if I smoked and I told him yes and he told me to quit that day because he would give me one the day of surgery. Im not sure if he did or not, but by the time I had surgery I had already quit smoking for about 5 months.

Like Iggy my Dr. allowed me to have some wine somewhere around 8 weeks, it was the holidays and he told me have some if I wished, if went down fine but hit me a lot quicker then before surgery. Now though alcohol don't really effect me like that, its almost like pre-op, I just get sober quicker! I've had a few sips of beer here and there but not a full one, I was thinking of waiting till my 1 year surgiversay, boy how I have missed beer!

Congrats on the surgery date! It's hard when you don't know anyone in person who has had surgery, that's why I'm so thankful for this site, everyone is so nice and support each other feel free to add me as a friend.
