What's The Deal On Hunger?
ashleyxx replied to sillygirlmi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont have hunger like I did pre-op, I dont get the growling, or hunger pains, but if I go a long time without eating I get the urge to eat and feel like I need to eat something. Its kind of hard to explain, but it is nowhere near what it was pre-op, I just hope it stays like this. -
6 Mos Out, Stopped Losing, What Can I Expect For The Future?
ashleyxx replied to sgraff47's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved 11-16 so Im about a month ahead of ya. If I were you I would try lowering my calories, I try to stay around 600-700, but I do have A LOT more weight to lose then you. Just a suggestion. -
I came across a great recipe blog tonight Emily Bites (Thanks to a member here on VST) and she makes these neat bites with woton wraps at the bottom, I loved the idea, but from what I understand they can be pretty carby, so I decided to try out some low-carb wraps instead, with some turkey sausage and onion egg bites(If you never heard of egg bites check out Eggfaces site, great recipes for all stages of WLS, shes awesome!) OMG they came out amazing! It almost reminded me of a thin biscit on the bottom, I topped them with a little salsa, yumm! I will definantly make these again!

They were I would have been more creative but all I had was some sausage and onions, I think some peppers and mushrooms would have been good in them too

Young, First Surgery Ever..scared Of Outcomes..
ashleyxx replied to Enerfina's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I felt the same way, the only "surgery" I ever had was my wisdom teeth pulled if that even counts! When you go in they will most likely give you something to mellow you out, and if they dont then ask. I was so damn nervous but I got pretty calm right before I went under, I knew I was making the right choice. Its not the easy way as a lot of people say that have not had surgery, if anything it is harder then all the times I have dieted pre-op, but you know what it is so worth it. -
Wishing you both the best of luck!

Been pretty stressed out lately, glad that Im not turning to food like I always did pre-op!

My starting BMI was 56, pretty close to 60. Ive seen alot of "heavyweights" have sucess with the sleeve so dont get discouraged!

How Long Did All Your Pre Op Appointments Take?
ashleyxx replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The thing that put a hault on me getting my surgery sooner were the appointments and my surgeon changing hospitals. I started my whole process in Feburary of 2011, I had to wait over a month and a half to get in for my sleep study, then when they found out I had sleep apnea I had to have another test which took me about a month to get in for that, my insurance only covered so many places so I had to wait it out (who figured they many people were getting test) And then my surgeon was transfering from one hospital to another so I had to wait a few months for that, luckily I was able to have it done in November, my insurance ended the next month so I just made it lol. So my best advice for anyone is to get everything done asap, you never know what bumps in the road you will face, some people can have theirs a month later, others years, it all just depends. Good luck with everything -
Are these Wasa crackers sold at specialty stores or can you get them at the regular super market?

I have had bread a few times, I always was a carb addict and when I have had bread it gives me cravings so I try to stay away from it. You might want to try some low carb wraps, I use to eat them all the time pre-op and they are pretty good.Theres a good brand at Walmart (I cant think of the name at the moment) but there low carb wheat, I think they are 5 carbs and 60 calories for a whole wrap, which you wouldnt be able to eat but I cut them in half.

I love nuts but try to limit them, if I didnt I think I would just sit there on a bunch. I love the Blue Diamond honey mustard almonds, they remind me of those honey mustard pretzels.
