Vegas in January, Agenda, Next Steps
babygrl1234 replied to OH Juli's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
LAdies, whoever does go I hope you all have a blast. Sadly (well not too sadly) I will be having our annual girls weekend for Tip Up Town with some of my girlfriends. Definitely cheaper than Vegas and way drunker. But I will be thinking of you guys having fun and I will be a bit jealous since I have never been to Vegas before. -
I am so happy he is paying you. He is such an asshole. You will be able to eat soon my darling....when is your next appointment? He will probably fill you then.

Rants and Raves become NOT for newbies
babygrl1234 replied to losingjusme's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Hey Gh0st...why you gotta go all passive aggressive on us here? =) Sorry I couldn't help myself. -
Good to know because you are the wind beneath my wings. Jennjenn I see you viewing here =) Congrats on your victory in fighting the bastard.

Well look who finally churned up. Welcome back from your dolphin hunting adventure. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, eat a hot dog before running. Not even if it is just 4 bites. It will swell up in your belly and cause you massive cramps and bloating at about 1.7 miles. But I did run the full 3 in under 40 minutes. And by run I mean run. I did not walk the entire time. That is a first. Usually I have a bit of a walking break. I fucking rock.

Wow. It is comforting to know that others have to deal with the same crap. I dunno it just frustrates me to no end that crap like this happens. I can work with anyone, even people I can not stand, and you would never know the difference. I always try to treat everyone with respect. Yet it just gets me crapped on time and again. I don't want to toot my own horn, but I am an excellent employee. I work hard and get my job done quickly and efficiently. I pick up on things easily. It's not my fault I was born that way. But why do I have to suffer for it ya know? I try to be helpful and I get accused of being bossy. I try to stay away from everyone and I get accused of not being a team player. I can not win with these people. The only good thing is that my boss does recognize what is going on. Unfortunately she is too "nice" and not so much of a "boss" know what I mean? Tries to be everyones friend, says things and does not follow through. I love her to death and enjoy the freedom I get in this job but I wish she had a bit more control of her employees.

Where the heck is everyone today?

It very well could just be something that passes right over. I went through the same thing with my daughter when she began Kindergarten. I had to change my perspective on things (Mommy is trying to be healthy, not Mommy is trying to not be fat). She refused to eat things like pizza, sugar, bread. But it did pass. There are still some things she will rarely touch (like soda) but I am fine with that since we do not have it in the house anyways. Don't feel bad, you are not a bad Mom.

You said poop. -
My ambitions are more sports oriented. I want to compete in a triathlon. I want to run a marathon. I want to go big or go home.

JennJenn!!!!!!!!! It's about darn time you came around here. Wait a month for the weights.

I had a blast! I love shopping. I got a boatload of new clothes and shoes. Well not a huge ton but quite a few.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Sorry I needed that laugh today. It really truly is not you. It is just the number of passive aggressive people I have seen on here lately that make posts like this, in which you damn well know who they are talking about, but they won't just come out and say it. And it goes both ways. What the hell is it lately with people just starting threads to bash each other? I will admit I have partaken in a bit of bashing via the "Why do people post just to post" thread, but at the same time that is not directed at any person in particular. IF you don't like someone or how they post the for goodness sake, don't respond or better yet put them on your ignore list. It seems like this is just turning into a huge us vs them forum and frankly it just reeks of obnoxiousness. Who wants to come around here and deal with all the drama? Who draws the line between "sharing their experiences" and "being a know-it-all"? Personally I like to hear from people who are successful so I can find out how they did it and incorporate it into something that works for me. If people are going to take that information as someone being bossy and pushy, well shame on them then. No one ever says there is only one way of doing it. I can think of four very successful bandsters who have gotten their result in 4 very different ways. The only common factor they have is that they all exercise. Their eating habits greatly vary and they have all posted as to how it works for them. As for Dr. advertisement....umm hello pretty much everyone around here does that. Those people who have had a great experience are going to talk about that and those who have not are going to talk about that too. My Dr. is awesome. I fricken love him. He is always there when I need him. But at the same time I am going to let people know what I hear about other doctors and hospitals in my area too. When I get information that someone was not given the time of day from their surgeon after surgery and they end up in the ER with a blood clot, you bet your ass I am going to tell everyone who asks about that hospital/surgeon that story. Not because I want to promote my doc, but because I do not want someone else to end up in that position. Again josie, this really is not directed toward you. Your posting just gave me the opportunity to get this off my chest. Same as you I have been sitting on this thought for awhile and I was not really going to post it, but since I am bitchy today I figured what the hell.

In Your 20's And Had Surgery?
babygrl1234 replied to juliet15teck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am 27 and have been banded now for almost 10 months. Physically I think surgery is easier on us because we are younger and we can get up and move and exercise. Emotionally however I think it is a little bit tougher. In my experience it seems that the older bandsters are more mentally prepared for the surgery. It's harder when you are younger and going out with friends constantly and wanting to still "live the life" but having the restriction of a band along with it. I often say that getting this band was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, but it is the best thing I have done in my life. You definitely get out whatever you put into it. You can do it and you will do great just as long as you are putting forth the effort. -
Detroit is holding strong at number 5. Thank God I am not one of them anymore.

I like trees. -
I just got back from my 14 hour shopping excursion. My biggest pet peeve are the people who come out shopping today and then get pissy about the crowds and start fussing and swearing. Umm HELLO you are shopping on the biggest, busiest day of the year, what the hell do you expect. I had to wait this morning for 30 minutes at the jewelry counter to be rung up as the second person in line. The girl who was ringing had no idea what she was doing. Everyone was getting angry and pissy but you know, what can you do? She was trying her best and getting no help from management. Plus she was usually working in the back and probably should not have been on register in the first place. But to get mad and start swearing at her? So horrible. I am always careful to thank everyone and tell them how much I appreciate them working because if they were not there, I couldn't be. Sometime you just have to laugh and move on. Now as for shopping....wow. I have not ever been able to shop in regular clothing stores before and today was just pure heaven. This could become a serious obsession. I just can't put into words how wonderful it felt to be able to shop in normal sized stores. But I am sure you guys understand.
-
No I lost my partner and did not want to go downtown myself. I did however shop for 14 hours today. And forgot my fucking bodybugg. But I got some cute new shoes, boots, coat, vest, jeans.....I think I have a new obsession.

i am staying on plan today because ...
babygrl1234 replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Because it is Thanksgiving, and instead of gorging myself and feeling like shit, I am going to eat a small bit and enjoy time with my family. -
I am definitely shopping. It is my favorite day of the year! I love watching the crazy ass people fight over the cheap tv and literally beat the hell out of each other for them. Great cheap entertainment.
