So I get all ready to go into court today and fight my ticket, only to actually read my ticket and find out that my appearance date is not until the 20th. What a waste of a day off work.

Spinning is fun and very challenging. F*CK the Cowboys.

I think I am finally getting the exercise bug back. My workout mojo has returned. I have spent the whole morning debating which classes I want to take to go along with my running. Since Monday and Fridays are my cardio "rest" days I am taking a body shaping class those evenings. Think mini boot campesque. I do belive that I am also going to take a contact kickboxing class on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I run short runs (3miles) those days right after work (2pm ish) and the class it at 7pm. And then Sundays I am doing a spinning class to help keep my ass bike ready. Maybe I am pushing it a bit, I don't really care. I am just ready to go full speed ahead again and I am going to take advantage of it as long as possible. I am so ready to get to goal.

Juli, according to the BB I burned about 1300 calories. Which is good because I went to a surprise party last night and I probably consumed that much in frosting.

B it sounds like you love the new bike. Aren't spectacular crashes fun once you look back at them? MAybe not so much as it is happening but definitely in hindsight. Not that I know about flipping over my handlebars or anything So today was my first "long" run ever. I did 6 miles total, running 5.5 miles of it! My time was 1:25 for the whole thing. I pretty much almost died afterward, especially since the last 50 meters or so were an all out sprint. I am still pretty much in awe and a bit of shock that I actually did it.

Was Your Doc More In Favor Of Gastric Bypass?
babygrl1234 replied to juliet15teck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine was not biased either way, at least not for me. I know a few patients that had originally wanted a band but because of behaviors or health issues decided with the doctor to go the other way and get a bypass. -
I told both of my children. Now my kids are very young (6 and 4) and I don't think my 4 years old really had any grasp of what was going on. My six year old however was very interested in everything. After my surgery we spent a lot of time watching "Big Medicine" which she really enjoyed. She know that Mommy wanted to be healthy and that I had tried everything else. We talk alot about health in general and making good food choices.

I would binge on whatever was in the house. Or fast food. Or candy. Or anything. I even remember sneaking entire boxes of twinkies out of the freezer as a kid and eating them all in my room. Now my binges are more under control. Like the two cups of sugar free hot chocolate and one slice of toast I just ate. Funny how now I consider that to be a binge.

And IMO this IS what the band does. This is how the tool works. WE do all the work to lose the weight. We work our asses off dieting (eating healthier as some may call it) and working out. We get the weight off. But when we are burned out, tired, stressed, then our bands come into play. The band our insurance policy against putting the 100 pounds back on. It is there to hold our place until we are ready to push at losing again.

Why am I craving chocolate every day?!?!
babygrl1234 replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sometimes some sugar free hot chocolate will help curb chocolate craving for me. -

I totally did too. I was completely non sexually crushing on her for the rest of the day lol. I get called skinny a lot these days (even by my really skinny friends) but I am certainly not skinny.

Speaking of being snipped my OBGYN suggested that I get a endometrial ablation to help with my excruciating long and painful periods. I am not exactly sure on how I feel about becoming sterilish. I am 99% sure I do not want anymore kids but down the road I don't know.... I think people are so used to seeing us heavy that when they see us at a normal size it looks alarmingly thin to them. I have about 40 pounds to lose and people don't think I have that much left to go. Well they are also used to seeing me at 280. Right now I do look tiny to them, whereas if i had always been thin I would look normal.

Okay I swear I am not getting on the scale again until next week lol. I need to stop my scale obsession.
-
That is awesome J! I did another three miles yesterday with .1 miles walking breaks between each mile. I never in a million years thought I would be running. Much less 9 miles in 3 days!
-
I think people with a bypass lose without exercise but isn't it pretty rare to drop 100 pounds in 6 months while banded and sitting on your arse?
-
You are doing pretty darn good yourself Arm!

The Magic Bullet - A Bandster Must-Have!
babygrl1234 replied to LovingWhatIs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine does not chop the ice out of an ice cube tray, though if the ice is crushed a bit first it will chop it. I have used mine for maybe a year and a half and it is on its last leg now. It is a great device but IMO you can buy an "off brand" one at like Walmart that will work just as well at half the price.
