I am not wieghing until tomorrow as Monday is my wiegh in day. I do not have a scale at my house because I would drive myself nuts on it. I have had a little bit of solid food. Mostly in the form of very mushy soups. I have also had some chili blended down with a little Water until it would be drinkable through a straw (but I don't use the straw) which is very satisfying. I have also had cream of wheat and hot oat bran watered down a bit. Yogurt, cottage cheese., pretty much any full liquid. One thing is for sure though that even though I am hungry and will be until I get a fill, I cannot eat the massive volume of foods I could before. I get full and it does hurt. I have has to measure my food to make sure I don't get that nasty pain of feeling full. Oh and I have the Isopure too.

I have whatever is the most popular band in the US. Not the big one but the other one. I have no problem speaking up. I am actually in a pretty unique situation since the bariatric coordinator where I had my surgery done is actually used to work in the OR with my Mom (both nurses). So she has known me since I was a little baby. She has been awesome about getting everything taken care of for me and my road to actually getting the band was smooth sailing. SO I will have no problems talking to her or the doctor.

Thanks for the welcome!!!!! I am all for a loss of pounds and gaining of a refund. I am a bit of a band virgin since it has only been two weeks so hopefully some of you veterans can give me some good advice. I am anxiously awaiting my first fill, which will not be until I am at least 4 weeks, since I have virtually no restriction at the moment. I have healed up pretty well and I feel pretty good. Hubby is buying me a treadmill tonight and I am uber excited about that. Never thought I would be one to be excited about a piece of fitness equipment but I really want to get walking and the mall is not doing it for me in this frigid cold weather.

Yummmm, Corona.

It is very nice of him. However, he does want to use it too. Even though he has always been one of those bone skinny never has to do anything kind of people, his lifestyle of eating a bag of reeses and 4 hot pockets for dinner has finally caught up to him. So he wants to work out too. So did anyone get anything fun for valentines day?

I had a follow up on Monday and it is normal. The swelling around your band has gone down now and you have no restirction. The doc said the very earliest he would fill me was at 4 weeks.

I want to get out and walk so bad but it is rigid outside right now. I went on one very cold walk and I have walking at the mall but I really want to be able to huff and puff and get sweaty not in public.

I am having the same problem. I am trying really hard to still sip though becasue I want to be in the habit of doing it after my first fill.

Hey guys can I join in? I just got banded a few weeks ago and I am ready to get the ball going. 260-current 240 by April 15

So I think my husband is buying me a treadmill tonight. Who would have thought I would be excited about a piece of fitness equipment?

Tracy I know when my son was in the hospital they had bedside computers for the kids to use (University of Michigan). At the hospital where my surgery was done they have wireless access but you have to bring your own laptop. That is really freaky about the Peanut Butter. We are a Jif family so we had no problems with that.

EGADS WHEN can i SHOWER?
babygrl1234 replied to lizrbit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I showered the day after I returned home from the hospital (two days post-op). However my insicions were closed with Dermabond (glue) not bandages. -
Audrey let us know how it went!

I don't know Chris some of us had to do Optifast shakes with no other food. I think Susannah had it worst becasue she had to to the optifast for 3 weeks, I only had to do it for 2.

My Mom was saying something to me about protien water. Thanks for the name now I will have to find some! -
I just bought the vanilla low carb isopure from GNC. I actually got the ginormous bucket (55 servings) since it was on clearance (expires in august). I really wanted the chocolate but since the vanilla was marked down from $103 to $60 I could not pass that up. I really like the bottled stuff. I have had the fruit punch and blue raspberry. Tastes like a dietish gatorade.

That is great news Audrey!!!! Make sure to check and see if there are any criteria you need to meet before surgery (medically supervised diet, nutritionist, etc) so you can get the ball really rolling.
-
Yeah no restirction sucks. I have none. I am not a big bruiser, not a big sweller so I don't think I am even swollen at all from the surgery anymore. I can gulp water and I am always hungry. My doctor said it might be possible to get a fill at 4 weeks so hopefully I can do that.

Good luck!

Oh no he didn't. LMAO :heh:

This is exactly why I do not have a scale in my house. I do not want to obsess over it. I weigh once a week at work and that is it. And some do need to realize that at 2 pounds a week you will lose 100 pounds in a year. I would love to lose 5 or 10 a week but you know what it took me a lot longer than a week to put on 5 or 10 pounds so I can't expect it to come off that quickly.

WA State Companies with Health Insurance that COVERS the band??!!
babygrl1234 replied to AudreyG's topic in Insurance & Financing
You might want to get started on a medically supervised diet (either by your Dr., Medical weight Loss center, etc) becasue if you do get a job and ahve the insurance many require a 6-12 month Dr. supervised diet. That way if you do get a job that covers it you will already be on the road to meeting the criteria. -
www.medicredit.com Also check with some Dr.s in Mexico, they also have ways of financing. Many people ahve had a lot of success and are very happy with their surgeries done there.

I am sure someone will chime in with the names of places that offer credit for medical reason but I cannot remember any right now. Maybe you could try callig one of those places to get approved. If you just have no credit it would probably be easier than getting something with terrible credit. You might have to pay a higher interest rate but you still might be able to find something.
