    Beginning of Abdominalplasty/Breast surgery

Maybe the prices she quoted to you were the seperate prices if you had to get it done in two different surgeries, but if you did them together it would be cheaper.

    overnight stay?????

23 hours for me also. I felt like it was enough but the ride home was painful hitting every bump.

    Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge

Zannie did you make it out on your walk last night? I played tennis the last two nights with DH and I am soooooo sore. I still did my walking today and I hope to do a little more when I take DD to the park for softball practice.

Zannie, I like the multigrain ones. They are really good with a little peanut butter on them too!

    Why??????

Does this forum look different everytime I come on here???? I keep thinking I am going to the wrong place lol. I do kinda like this look a little better.

    Why??????

Yeah that would probably creep me out too. I tend to always be the last one using the community computer at work before it breaks down so I probably would ahve thought it really was my fault lol

Travelgirl I second you on the wasa bread!!!!! I eat it every day at lunch with some tuna fish. One piece and half a can of tuna with a little mayo and I am stuffed. So delicious.

Awesome job on the 10 pounds!!!! You know I have been terrible on my exercise on diet the last few weeks and it showed. I had an appointment on MOnday and I had only lost 4 pounds since my last visit three weeks prior. Since going back on my diet and exercising since Monday I have lost 4 pounds. Now I want to kick myself in the butt becasue I just wasted three weeks and maybe I could have another 4 gone by now. I just keep thinking that I want to get this wieght off now and I am going to do it now. Then once I am maintaining I can have the things I want to eat. Hopefully by then I just won't want them anymore!

Zannie, I know how much it sucks when you don't excercise for awhile. It is so difficult to get back into it. Even if it sucks and you hate every second of it just get up and do it. You will feel so much better once you do. You will be proud of yourself and that will help a little to make you feel better. Let me tell you I was much prouder with myself when i got on the treadmill the other night at 8pm with a horrible headache and finished my workout than I was about the 3 weeks after surgery where I worked out everyday. When something is more difficult for you to get out and do the reward for doing it seems so much greater.

    Question about food getting stuck...

If I have food that is really stuck generally if I burp it will just come up instead of gas.

    Maybe To-Be Bander [hopefully] QUESTION!

Personally I would rather live forever with horrible scarring and an ugly port bump rather than spending the rest of my life being fat. As it is my scarring is not too bad. My largest incision is about 3 inches long. As for keeping the band in forever, I am going to fight with people to take it out. I have lost enough pounds to know over the years that once the diet is over the weight comes back. The band does not allow that to happen. I can only eat a little bit and that is all I am going to be able to eat. If my band was not here I would already be binging on food (believe me I have tried and the pain is incredible). As for food I can eat, I can pretty much eat or drink anything depending on the time of day and how well I chew. Sometimes something that might have gone down easy the day before (like say chicken) is more difficult for me the next day. The lap band is for life. At least as long as you keep it in you. Think of it as a food "pacemaker". If it is doing it's job and keeping you thin why would you want to get rid of it.

    Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge

Well ladies how is it going so far? I have had two pretty good days, both water and excercise wise. Along with my 30 minute walk yesterday i also played tennis with DH for a bit over an hour. I wiped up the court with him lol. I have not played since high school so I am a wee bit sore today but at least I had tons of fun.

Oh and I am also insituting a new policy for myself today. If I don't know the calories/protien of something then it is not going in my mouth. That means packing a lunch now since all cafeteria food will be pretty much off limits. I have to stop thinking that if I don't know the calories then the calories don't count lol.

    Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge

Yesterday was a pretty decent day. We had a bit of a celebration at work for the one year anniversary of our department. A rep brought in sandwiches from Panera and cake so I did have a bit of that, but only a bit. One taste was enough and that made me feel pretty good. Plus I worked out at like 7:45 pm which is a huge deal for me. I am definitly an am workerouter. But I felt pretty darn good once I got on the treadmill. The headache I had went away for a little while, it was nice. Hope everyone else had a good day!

Who does Number 2 work for?

Not my son. Is it seriously too much to ask that my almost 4 year old use the effing toilet? It's been damn near a year and a half of potty training and I am about to throw myself in front of a friggin truck. The kid knows he has to poop. He hides in the corner or behind something every time he has to go. He will sit on the toilet for hours with a turtle head poking out and he refuses to push it out. I have tried games (drop the bomb on the little target drawn on toilet paper was fun), cheerios, rewards, cool lookin underpants, colace, stool softener, diet change and pretty much everything I can think of. I hate keeping him in a diaper because he will just pee in it but I am tired of cleaning crap filled underpants. Ugh. I just had to get that out. Any ideas I maybe have not tried?

Lesbians more likely to be obese

From what I see among my friends who are gay and staight are that my straight friends tend to care more about how they look and what people think about them then my gay ones do. They are much more likely to not eat something or work out because they want to look good for some guy. Now not all of them are like this as I do have some friends who don't give a hoot and one of my lesbian friends in particular who is the biggest girlie girl who wants to look good all the time. But going by that I can see how sexuality may be a factor.

    February 2007 bandsters!

Umm I am seriously the queen of fills. If you are questioing whether you can get one or not consider the fact that I just got my 5th fill (I think...I have kind of lost track it has been that many). I want this thing to work and I want it to start now. I am not willing to sit around and wait for a month when I know I need something now.

    Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge

I got in trouble at the doctors yesterday. Maybe not bad trouble but he made me feel pretty darn guilty. I am pretty honest about about what I eat and exercise and it has not been too good lately. I lost 4 pounds in the last 3 weeks, which is good but not as good as it should be if I was following everything to a T. Plus with my new early shift I can't work our before work since I start at 5 am. When I told him I hated working out and thats why I can't get it done in the afternoon he said to me "What do you hate more, working out or being fat". The man makes a good point. So I am on it now. I have my water next to me and I am walking on my break. If I have it all done before I leave work then I don't have to worry about it at home. Let's all strive to beat the 20 and 20!!!!!!!!!
  20. OKay those of you who asked for it, here it is. Sign up here and let me know what challenge you are most interested in. I think the two options that were being most looked at were an exercise challenge or a protien challenge. Join up here and give me your preference on challenge type. Babygrl1234 (Stacy)- Exercise

    Insurance for Plastic Surgery

With documentation of skin rashes and such I know my insurance would pay for the apron removal and/or a breast reduction. Many insurance would probaly cover it though it would require a lot of documentation. As a side note a tummy tuck (tighening of the muscles) would not be covered by most insurances if any, only the removal of the pannus (hanging skin) is usually covered.

    February 2007 bandsters!

Louise I have found that I can sometimes eat bread no problem and sometimes it gets stuck. On the days it goes down okay I keep thinking I need another fill and on the days it gets stuck I start regretting the last fill lol.

    Softball and the lap band

I had my surgery in February and I was back in the batting cages a month later. You may have some port pain from the swinging the bat but this decreases over time. I don't feel anything now.
