Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge
babygrl1234 replied to babygrl1234's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah well it was also right before my bariatric support group last night lol. I fessed up and told them all at which point my nurse said she was making me an appointment on Monday. I am just so stressed out with this damned plateau. Since I started counting calories and working out everyday usually twice I have lost zilch. Finally I said screw it and ate the burger. Ugh. Tatertots get stuck for me. Every single time. You would think I would learn but nope I always try one. Go figure, I can eat a while double cheeseburger and get stuck on one effing tater tot. But hey I have to stay positive here so I did manage to run for 90 seconds straight this week lol. Hubby had to force me on the treadmill last night because of my bad day but I am glad that he did. He also did not get himself any icecream last night when his dad sent him out to get him some (he lives with us) because he did not want to eat it in front of me. I thought that was really sweet. -
People Magazine - 1/2 Their Size Issues

I was just going to say that Susan. I don't care if people think it is a gimmick and think it is better to do it the "old fashioned" way. At least in 5 years I will still be thin while 98% have gained back all their weight. -
I hate to say it but you might never get off of it. My mother and 3 of my aunts all have sleep apnea. While my mother may be over weight she is not really more than 30 or 40 pounds over what she should be. One of my aunts is very fit, walks daily, and still she has her CPAP. Just want to put it out there that there could be a possibilty that you have to stay on it even if you do lose.

Bad bad day yesterday. I ate an entire double cheeseburger...including bun. Sigh. Guess it is time for a fill. -
The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don?t Want You to Know About

Oh I definitly agree with you there. But $1200 just seems so incredibly low that I would think that is a massive bulk purchase. -

$1200? Wow that is really hard to believe. I order supplies for the OR at the hospital I work at and the cost we pay per band is $3195. -

Great job Suzanne. I had a very poor weekend of eating too but I figured I am entitled to that every once in awhile. I was with my Mom, Grandma, cousins and four Aunts for our annual Mother day weekend get away. SO you know there was a ton of food there. I certainly could not eat as much as I used to but I did not eat very healthy things. Plus there was ground bologna there. Sounds gross I know but it is the most delicious sandwich on the planet. Of course I could not have a sandwich but it was yummy with crackers! And I got my workouts and water in so that was a good thing. -
No, I know I should be.

Thanks. I have actually just hit a crappy plateau that I am hoping will just go away soon. I purposely upped my exercising and stared journaling my food at the begining of the month and that is when it started. I really hope I am gaining some muscle here or something because boy oh boy is it frustrating to not see the scale move.
-
Ohhhh no more floating arm. At least some good will come out of this day lol. Congrats on your date, I am sure it has been frustrating as hell for you thus far. Hope the rest is smooth sailing for you.
-
Well it is about darn time. And yeah I am still looking at the chicks double arm at the top of the page!

THIS PLATEAU IS FRIGGIN KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been at the same weight since May 3. If I am only eating 800 calories and working out at least once, usually twice a day, how does this seem possible? I know that weight loss slows down but I was not expecting it 3 months in. I am so darn frustrated. How was everyone elses weekend? -
Snacks or No Snacks?
babygrl1234 replied to TerriDoodle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think for a lot of people snacking between meals can lead to grazing. Kind of like how some people can't even have a little bit of sugar because it leads to eating a lot of sugar. -

That is the same kind of bottle I use, only I bought mine at Meijer. We ahve like 3 of them around here. One for both my husband and I at home that I keep in the fridge and I have one at work that I drink out of all day. I almost always have my Water done by the time I leave work and it is so easy to measure using that bottle. Anyhow y'all better hold up the fort while I am on vacation this weekend. It is our annual "girls weekend" so I will be at a hotel with my mom, grandma, 4 aunts, and 2 cousins. I have already packed my sack of 100 calorie snack packs and ff pudding and yogurt. Wish me luck!!!! Oh and the hotel has a workout room so if I am working out I expect y'all to do the same!! =) -
The hair is a banding thing. How much protien are you taking in?

I know a girl who has had 5 abortions and still does not use any type of birth control. DOn't tell me that is a myth. As for the expense, her health insurance covers it I assume because it would be cheaper for them to fork over the $300 instead of forking over thousands for childbirth. As for people picketing, I cannot stand that. I been in a clinic before with a very close friend of mine who had gotten pregnant while having an IUD as her birth control. She was very troubled by the decision but knew for the sake of her other child that she had to do it. Her and her husband did not have much money and there was no way she could afford another child. I have seen what she went through and seen the faces of those inside pained by the decision they had to make. The last thing that a woman needs when already being troubled by that kind of decision is to have someone screaming at her how she is a baby murderer and going to hell.

You know what Zannie that is amazing. Not the whole funk part but the fact that even in your funk you are getting on the treadmill. To me that was always the hardest part, exercising while I am feeling down. Be proud of that girl! I think everyone is doing a great job. We are still new and getting used to our bands. Many of the people who have been banded longer did not start exercising right away and we are taking the initiave to do so. -
Jodie being bipolar does not make you crazy. You are the one who keeps using that word. Plenty of people here have given you advice to try and help you but you seem to just want to do your own thing. Fine, do your own thing if that makes you feel better. There are plenty of people in the world who can't afford everything they would like. However for some if they know it is necessary they will do everything in their means to get it. My point is that if you really wanted that fill you would save up money for it. You would find another job, you would do something other than complain. The meaning of alcohol having empty calories is that they are just more calories to burn that give you no nutritional value. If a beer has 120 calories and the "typical 19-20 year old" has 6 beers, that is 720 extra calories you have had for the day.

I am here!!!! I got all my Water in today but not the excercise yet. I was so bummed that it has been storming all day so I cold not go on my walk at work. Boy did I need it today too. Funny thing is that all the stress I was having the first thing I wanted to do was go walking, not eat. It was a pretty nice feeling. Anyhow I have to hop on the treadmill for day 2 of week 1 of the couch to 5K program. I will check back in later!!!!! Zannie, I know you are out there and I miss you!!! -
Thank you musicacalmomma for saying exactly what I was thinking. Also Jodi I am sorry but saying that you can't afford the gas for a two hour drive to get a fill for your health while giving people money to buy you BEER is bullsh*t. If you can afford beer, you can afford a fill. You just don't want it that badly.

Completely satisfied.

Well I got my walk in. I actually went out with my boss and she showed me her walking path. I am not sure how far I went but I did walk for an hour and I am little bit sweaty. -
Sorry to give you the impression that my comment was directed toward you. It was directed toward the person who made it who kind of paraphrased what you said. I read your comment as more geared toward the very conservative religous people who tend to lean toward being anti-gay.

Now Leatha you know you can't be a Christian if you like gays. I've heard that Christians don't like gays, period.
