Zannie you know I heart you! Girl when you complete this challenge next month (because I know you CAN do it) we are going to throw a big friggin cyber party.

I know I would totally go for the 60 but I have become pretty hardcore addicted to exercising. How about if we do a challenge with different levels. Like this: Level 1- 30 minutes per day for 20 days Level 2- 45 minutes per day for 20 days Level 3- 60 minutes per day for 20 days and the Level 4 hardcore bad ass 60 minutes per day for 30 days Yeah I am pretty pissed that I missed 2 workout days this month grrr lol. I wanna be a hardcore bad ass in June!

Lizrbit, You should take your iron and calcium at two different times each day. When they are taken together they negate each other and you won't be getting anything out of them.

Maybe it is okay to call another person a killer and mean it and not okay to say you would like a group of people killed in jest? You are a very very bad boy. -
Okay May is almost over. Is anyone interested in diong a June exercise challenge? This month we did a 20 and 20 challenege. 20 days of exercise for 30 minutes and 20 days of drinking 64+ ounces of water. Any ideas for next month?

Wow. I had to marinade in this for a few minutes to make sure I was reading it correctly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What gets me is when people speak out so hatefully against someone who made a decision that is perfectly legal in our country. How is trying to make someone feel bad about their decision going to do any good? Those people who are getting abortions as their form of birth control are just going to laugh it off and those struggling with the decision they had to make are just going to feel worse. Is that your goal? To make someone feel bad about themselves and their decisions? Is it supposed to deter them from having another abortion? Chances are if they were struggling with making the decision before they will do everything in their power to keep it from happening again (as in the case of my friend who became pregnant on her IUD, I swear I have never seen someone triple up the protection like her). All you are doing is casting judgement and further fueling the fire of those people here who find Christians to be intolerant bigots. -
All right Y'all. It's a new month so begins a new challenge. Since I am kindabossy and kinda ticked off that I screwed up the last 10 days or so in April we are going to redo the challenge. Plus since we waited until last minute and it is already May 1st that is the easiest thing to do lol. So if there are no arguments then lets redo the 20 and 20 challenge. For those who were notin it last month that is 20 days with 64 ounces + of Water and 20 days of 30 minutes of execise. Who is in with me? Babygrl1234- Starting weight May 1st 239 lbs. Goal: to be down 8 lbs.

Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge
babygrl1234 replied to babygrl1234's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ladies we only have a couple days left! Let's finish this month strong and get ourselves ready for June! Can you guys believe it has been almost 4 months since we were banded? Next Tuesday is 4 months for me and I am really hoping to hit the big 50 by then. What kind of challenge do you all want to do in June? Do you want to do something like the April Bandits are doing? A challenge with multiple levels? I really have to step it up because I want to be able to ride my bike to work by the time my daughter is out of school (June 8th). It is 12 miles from my house and I am up to about 7 miles now. If only my bootie was not on fire from the darn bike seat. I know it will pass but geesh. I am tired of feeling like there is a boot up my butt. Considering just a few weeks ago it could barely huff it a mile on the bike I think I am doing rather well. Oh and I seriously cannot say enough good things about the couch to 5K. I never imagined that the 4th week after I started running only 3 days a week I would be able run for 5 minutes straight. This week is a 5 minute warm up, 3 minute run, 1.5 minute walk, 5 minute run, 2.5 minute walk, repeat (but don't repeat the warmup lol). SO I ran a total of 16 minutes. Awesome. Maybe I am tooting my own horn here a little bit but who cares. TOOT TOOT! I am just so darn excited that I want everyone to try it lol. -
Chickie, I think you have a few more fans on this board than you think. You and Puddin are my inspiration. Seeing both of your before and after pics gives me hope that I can achieve my goal. It got me up off the couch and running and out of the house on my bike. I have been working my butt off to get to where you guys are. You had such an amazing transformation and seeing the pictures and reading the stories I know I can be there too some day.

I am with Eddie. They taste gross to me. -
When does the bike butt disappear? I have the gel seat but it still feels like there is a foot up my a$$. Do I just keep riding on it or let it rest a day or two?

Feb 07 Bandsters: May Challenge
babygrl1234 replied to babygrl1234's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Suzanne, I got stuck on tator tots a few times too. I won't even attempt it anymore. It seems like potatoes do that too me. Even mashed! I worked my little bootie off this weekend. saturday it was rainy so I did not get to go on my walk at work which kinda bummed me out. So I only did my 5K training and was on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Sunday DH and I went to the campground where my parents were staying and went biking. I think it was about 7 miles. Then yesterday DH and I went for another bike ride for about 5 miles and I started week 4 of my 5K training. Let me just say I really surprised myself in being able to run for 5 minutes straight. I was gross and sweaty afterward but it felt soooo good. I never thought I would say this but I am really starting to get addicted to exercise. And it helps with the Water too! -

Brenda, You have the same insurance as me! BCBS PPO is a good insurance to have. The most difficult thing they require is a 12 month medically "supervised" diet. However they are pretty lax about it. I had five visits to my Dr. within a year. Two were at the beginning of the year, one was in the middle and two were at the end. At all five we discussed my weight and ways to lose weight. That was enough to get me approved. I also had to have a psyc evaluation which was easy peasy. My psychologist that the program works with has a band herself and she was awesome. Best advice I can give you is get to your doctor now and get the documentation started if you haven't already. Heck get there now even if you have. The more documentation the better. If you are interested in going to a seminar sooner and don't mind a little drive Oakwood is having one on Wed June 6th from 5-7pm. Here is the link for it https://www.oakwood.org/?id=3&sid=1&f=i&t=49&class_id=101568&fee=0 Terry, the bariatric coordinator is awesome and they really do a great job of helping you get your insurance approval. -
I think it is rubbish. It is one thing to think about what you want to achieve and be so focused on it that you do achieve it. But to say that we control what happens to us by our thinking? Did that baby want to be put in the microwave? Did my grandfather want to die of cancer? Did the person who was shot in a drive by want to be shot and created the situation by their thinking? I just think it is a big fat stinking pile of BS.

I say find yourself a seminar to go to and get some info. Some places require you to attend their seminar before surgery and it would be a great way to get information. Take DH with you if you can get him to go along. I have also heard good things about Dr. Deol though I did not get my surgery done. I had my surgery done at Oakwood in Dearborn by Dr. Bacal and I could not be happier about it. I had a great experience and am being very well taken care of. -
Not completely true. Different insurances require different criteria. My insurance requires there be some sort of skin breakdown (rashes etc) and at least 100 pound weight loss that is maintained for over 6 months. Both of these things must be documented by a physician. Believe me if it was just a belly flap I would already be on the OR table.
