Daffodil asked the question of "Aren't you glad your mother decided not to abort you?" I was just stating that there could be some cases where some may not be happy about that decision. I never said it stopped child abuse or that the majority of abortions are due to mental retardation. In some cases abortion may be the best option for the people involved, but pro-lifers don't want that option to be available to those who might need it. -
I think she just needs to find a man with better aim.

That is so great!!!!!!!!!! I am telling you I was seriously weary of the couch to 5K but it really has been working. I started week 5 yesterday. I ran 5 minutes 3 times in my workout with 3 minute breaks in between. The first week I started I could barely run the 60 seconds once in my workout and now to actually run for 5 minutes? I could have ran more. I am going on my work walk in about 30 minutes. I can't even decribe the effect of having a workout partner. It really does get me off my butt to workout because I know she is waiting for me. Plus it makes the hour fly by to have someone to talk to. She is dieting too so we are always comparing notes and such. I am so proud of how well we are all doing. You guys are my band sisters and I hope we keep doing challenges till after the cows come home.

Or maybe they will look back at it in anger and frustration as the begining of the age of their rights being taken away one by one. Except with the millions and millions of extra people there might not be enough money left over to enjoy those things after being taxed to the bone to take care of all the extra "lives" that were "saved". And to answer your question, yes I am pretty happy that my mother did not abort me. But then again I was very much planned and prepared for. I am also a healthy and happy 27 year old. Maybe if you could ask this question to someone who is extremely mentally retarded, disfigured to the point of daily agony and pain, or beaten and raped daily by a family member and maybe you would get a different answer. -
No problem. I just wish there was one closer to my house. We moved away from there and the 30 minutes drive was just too much for me to get there. It really is an awesome place.

Awesome job Magii!!!! I am feeling pretty good. I had a great day at work today. I still have to get my running for the day (did my hour of walking but I need my 5k run...arg!) I oculd do it tomorrow but I really want to get it in before I go to bed.

Oh travelgirl I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the pain you must be going through and I will be sure to keep you and your family in my prayers. Girl with what you have been through this week if you manage to work out every day for the rest of the month I think you will reach the ultimate bad ass level. And I think of you, Zannie, and I as bad asses anyhow!

I am sorry for all the trouble you are dealing with right now. Probably the easiest diet to have without having to think about things would be something like Optifast. It is gross but you just have to drink the shakes at every meal, thoughtless process. Or call your doctor and see what he/she recommends. Get yourself one of those big 64ox water bottles that has a sipper top on it and fill it and take it with you. Make sure you are drinking the whole thing daily.

Your favorite protein shake recipe?

I scoop of Matrix 5.0 Chocolate powder, 4 ice cubes, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Yuuuuummmmmm -
Yeah, the kids have not been on the computer lately since the weather is nicer now. When they are on there it is only if DH or I are in the room with them. They are only 4 and 6 and probably can't find it themselves but I certainly do not want them seeing any pop ups of an adult kind. Net Nanny does sound like a good plan.

I seriously think I am going to strangle my father in law. I know he is looking at porn or something on this dang computer because how in the heck else am I going to all of a sudden be getting 10 billion popups everythime I am online? Is it that damn hard to just go buy a magazine and spend a few minutes in the bathroom like they did in the days before the internet? This is the second computer we have had since he has moved in with us (the first one got some sort of an STD from a porn site and we had to switch it out with the kids computer.) Hmmmm anyone see a pattern here? ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.

Mother Daughter Weight Loss Race
babygrl1234 replied to Ryanband07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Don't worry too much about your Mom. Bypass patients do tend to lose wiehgt faster than those with a band but after awhile her weight loss is going to slow dramatically. Yours will just keep trucking along slow and steady. Thnk of the thngs you will be able to do that she won't. You don't have to worry as much about the types of food you eat. If it is your birthday you can have a tiny piece of cake and not be having bloaty gassy horrible cramps. If your weight loss slows you can get a fill and take care of that problem, your Mom can't. Once her weight loss slows she will have to be very areful to make sure it does not creep back on. -
Yeah DH just ran our spyware thing and there were like 96 items that had to be deleted. This computer we are using right now is actually the one the kids usually use but since the other one was fried (it was pretty old too like 6 yearsish) we had to hook this one up. We have a brand new one but unfortunatly DH built the thing himself trying to save some money and somethng is not working right on it. Once the other one is up and running I am prefectly willing to let him take this and beat off to his hearts content. I just don't want to see anymore popups!!!!

How is everyone doing??? Crappy weather here today. I did 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill and I was so darn bored with it (I usually only run on there) so I had to get outside between storms and ride my bike. I did almost 5 miles in a half an hour to get my full hour in before it started to rain again. It was fuuuuun riding through the puddle. I was a mess when I got home lol. On a side note my huge tree in my backyard was struck by lightning AGAIN for the 4th time since we moved in here in 2003. Whoever said lightning never strikes the same place twice is full of it!!!!!

Curious... what is reason for supervised diet before banding?
babygrl1234 replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with both of these reasons. They probably also want some sort of documented "proof" that you have tried to lose the weight. -

I loved spinning class when I used to go.

I used to be a memeber there though my membership was free becasue I worked in the child center. I loved it. Open 24-7, a place to take my kids when I wanted to work out. The pools, space, everything. The group fitness classes are awesome especially the spinning classes.

Oh yuck. I am sorry you hurt your foot, but awesome job on the exercising through it. That is pretty hardcore!

Retract your claws there honey. My bad, I read it wrong. And I did mention if it was 6 to 12 month thing it was insurance. -
I definitly want to kayak someday. I go canoeing on the Ausable every summer and every time I go I think about how much fun it would be to kayak.
-
I know. I was doing that too! Then I remembered seeing a biking site that had trips mapped on there and I wondered if I would be able to find something like that. I came, I googled, I found it. I use that site to map out tons of things. I love it.

Where are all the Michigan people at??
babygrl1234 replied to Cinnaberry's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would check with the Doctor in Marquette. Chances are if his practice there is "newer" he would be willing to take on a patient from a different doctor. Plus seeing as the UP is less densely populated as down here chances are he would take you on as a patient. There may be some kind of fee involved though.
