Dang Juli your bike riding fricken rules. I can't wait to get up to what you are doing. No I don't have a bend in my arms so I will have to try moving the seat. I definitely have to agree with you on the helmet thing. Every single serious looking biker I rode by nodded to me or said hello. That has not happened before. It must be the helmet. DH was making fun of me yesterday about helmets because there was this helmet on clearance at Dick's and I would not buy it because it was blue and my bike is red. I have red and black gloves and I wanted my outfit to coordinate. He just rolled his eyes and told me I was a dork lol.

Ohhh Faith I forgot about the Tastefest. At least it is over today lol.

Yesterday I went to my mother in laws wedding and my SIL came up to me and said "wow I have been sitting here trying to figure out who my brother brought with him because I did not recognize you" I have to admit it felt pretty good.

I take GNC Chewable Solotron. It is an adult chewable. They also have a chewable calcium. Of course I am so dang horrible at remembering them.

I look at other peoples plates in disgust too. lol I have never felt like a freak for not being able to overeat. I was worried too about the eating thing and not being able to eat my favorite foods again. You know what? I still can eat them. I just can't overeat them. As for the snickers bar, nine times out of ten now I don't even want it.

I was having some issue too for a few months. Now things seem to be regulating themselves.

Ohh I can't wait to read it. I really do enjoy your blog and I am rooting for ya! I agree with Faith on the whole A thing too. My exercising is going very well. I bit it pretty bad yesterday while riding to work but I managed to get my bike fixed and out for a 20 mile ride this morning.

Hey all I just posted this recipe in the recipe forum but I don't know how many of you look in there so I wanted to share it with you. This would be considered a mushy food. OKay I have been wanting to try this for awhile using band friendly ingredients and I finally did and it tasted great. It is super easy to make. 1 pkg sugar free Jello (I use strawberry) 1 16 ounce container low fat cottage cheese 1 8 ounce container sugar free cool whip Mix jello and cottage cheese with a spoon until well blended. Mix in cool whip. I separate into 8 serving of about 1/3-1/2 cup each. Each serving is: 107 calories 8g Protein 10g carbs 3g fat You could probably add some unflavored unjury to kick up the protein even more. Also this does not taste at all like cottage cheese. If you don't like cottage cheese you can still try it and like it! -
Puddin how is the Tri training going?

Zannie did you get your workout in last night? The wedding was okay. I was actually very very good. I did not drink. I ate a few bites of salad, a cheeseburger with the lower half of the bun, probably an eighth of a cup of potato salad and a very small sliver of cake (which surprisingly stayed down). Of course it took about an hour to eat all of that. Plus I had like 3 bottles of Water there. After however DH and I went to the movies and I did treat myself to a bit of popcorn. This morning I got back on my bike. DH fixed it for me last night by removing the tire from the other bike (remember broke pedal-4.5 mile walk home scenario?) and put it on my bike. So I went and bought my helmet this morning and took a 2 hour bike ride. I am pretty sure it was at least 20 miles. I know for sure 15 miles but I need a map to figure out how much more I did in the other metropark. My ass is on fire but I feel pretty darn good right now. Hope everyone is doing well and having beautiful weather this wonderful Sunday. It is about 93 and very sunny here right now so I am going to go enjoy more of the sunshine!

$300 seems pretty reasonable for a bike. I am saving up to get a new bike next summer. I want to makes sure I still enjoy riding before I drop a lot of money on a new one. So here is the big news.....Guess who fixed her bike???? ME!!!!!! Well DH helped. We took the wheel from the other bike and put it on mine and tightened up the brakes and straightened everything out. I went to the store this morning and bought my helmet. And I did my 20 mile ride. Well actually I know for a fact at least 15 because that much of the trail was posted with the miles as for the rest I don't know for sure. It had to have been at least 5 miles though. I have to get a metropark map book and check to be sure. But it was a solid 2 hours of riding. My ass is on fire but I feel great. And you know what? Riding with a helmet was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. In fact I did not even notice it was there. Does anyone else have problems with sore upper arms when they ride for a long time? I think I must be locking my elbows or something while I ride because it is killing my triceps to bend my arms at the elbow right now. They are slowly loosening up but does anyone know how to stop the elbow locking?

No I don't think so. I have diet Slurpees all the time.

I just tried a new protein bar. It was on of those "Oh Yeah" wafers. It was pretty darn good in a weird sort of way. Tasted exactly like a one of those Little Debbie peanut butter wafer bars but without the sugar. It was not sweet, it had hardly any sweetness to it but it was good. I can't even explain it well lol. -
No carpal tunnel problems yet....though it does run in the family. I do get numb hands riding though. Gloves have helped the problem but I still get tingley

Dh looked really confused when I got home. He was concerned but we laughed a lot about it once he knew I was okay. The eyewitnesses were probably thinking "Thar she blows" as I was flying through the air. I think the best visual I can give is when Willy jumped the barrier wall to get to the ocean. The latest I will get it to the shop will be on Monday. I am just bummed because I was going to try a 20 mile ride tomorrow morning. That was my deterant for not drinking at the wedding tonight. Now I might jsut reward myself with a drink or 17. As a side note I just found my bruises. While I was sitting down on the toilet might I add lol. On my upper left thiegh I have maybe a 4x4 inch area that has like 6 rows of perfectly parallel scratches and next to that are about 3 one inch diameter bruises. I do not bruise easily so I must have hit pretty hard. Heehee.

Get up 30 minutes before you usually do and get on the treadmill. Have your workout shoes and clothes right next to the bed. Better yet sleep in your workout clothes and put your shoes on first thing. It sucks, you will hate it no doubt. But once that 30 minutes is up and it is now the normal time you would ahve woken up you will be able to say "damn I am done workiing out, I don't even have to look at the treadmill if i don't want to". It will be worth it once it is over with. The first few times are rough but it gets easier. It seriously makes you feel better. It makes your day better. The farther along you go i nthe day the harder it is to workout. Especially if you hate doing it. Get the bad over first so you can enjoy the good for the rest of your day.

I have to clean my plate too. As for the sweets I will get a 100 calorie snack pack and take it in the car with me. That way I cannot go and eat the rest of the box. Usually the urge passes. I will have these 30 minute stretched where I jsut ahve to have something and I would kill someone over it. If I can busy myself and get through it i am perfectly fine later. -

Oh I can't just take two bites. I really am better off with none lol. -
Got to love Saturday chores!!! Saturday is my house cleaning day which will be happening as soon as I get home. I only have like 2 hours and then I have a wedding to go to so I have to get my butt in gear. I am actually having a great day, the bike thing was so funny when it happened. Just complete and total shock on my part. People who saw were very concerned for me and I was just cracking up.

Definitely. This is the second bike I have broken (the first being when the crankshaft fell off and I had to walk 4.5 miles home lol). The worst part is that it was a fricken bee. Now if I were swerving to miss a small child, or a spare tire, or a ferret, then it would be more acceptable. I am definitely going to check out the club. It is only $10 a year for membership and that includes the whole family. If I hate it I will have only wasted 10 bucks, right?

My 6 year old DD loves Harry Potter too. I did actually take her to see GOF at the theater but it was at the dollar show after it had already been out for awhile. Funny thing is that at one point when they were in the maze i was jumping out of my seat and she was looking at me like I was crazy. She's like "come on Mom it is not that scary".

To add onto the comfort bike thing I foudn this description: Comfort bikes Relatively new on the bike scene, comfort bikes keep their riders as comfy as possible. That means suspension seat posts (yep, they actually cushion the bumps), gel-filled seats for happy bums, upright handlebars and soft grips to reduce hand and wrist fatigue, easy-to-read gear indicators, and wide tires to cushion the ride like mountain bike tires do, but with smooth centers to speed up and quiet down the ride. Comfort bikes sort of look like mountain bikes and sort of look like hybrid bikes — sometimes comfort and hybrid bikes can be hard to distinguish. The big difference is the wheel size. Comfort bikes have 26" wheels, putting the rider’s center of gravity closer to the ground than hybrid bikes (which have larger, 700-centimeter wheels), making some riders feel safer. Most comfort bikes can handle just about any sort of terrain, but since they’re built for comfort they’re not exactly built for exacting performance on or off road.

How fun. I am thinking of joining a club around here so I can have people to ride with. The club rides at the metropark where I like to ride so that would be cool. Funny thing is other than my bike being messed up I think the whole fall thing was pretty humorous. I have no idea how I did not get hurt (must be that 07/07/07 luck). The people who saw it were pretty concerned but I was just cracking up. I wasn't even upset about walking home. I didn't have a choice, I had to get there and I had no phone. Just another fun story to tell everyone once I finally got to work.

What weight for regular size clothing??
babygrl1234 replied to KarenG.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You know I am actually the same weight I was when I graduated high school but I am smaller than I was. I actually put on my prom dress the other day and it was a little bit too big. Just goes to show anyone who thinks exercise does not make a difference that it actually does. -
So I totalled my bike today. Well not completely totalled but I am out of commission until I get to the bike shop and get at least a new wheel and everything else that may not be working fixed. Let me set the scene up for you.... This morning I decided to play Tour de Oakwood (pretty much I was trying to ride to work as quickly as possible.) About 2 miles from my house a bee flies into my face and gets into my hair. I am freaking out trying to swat it out because I am deathly afraid of them. I start to swerve right where there is a bunch of landscaping going on and as hard as I try I can't keep myself from falling into the 12 inch deep 6 inch wide ditch that is on the side of the sidewalk. I sort of dove headfirst over the handlebars and landed on this huge piece of plywood and sort of slid along it. Due to the dusty piece of wood I don't have a mark on me but I am covered in dirt. My bike was not so lucky. Chunks of mud everywhere, handlebars turned sideways, cracked pedal, chain popped off. Off course there are several people to witness this and my pride was wounded lol. I was shaking for about 5 minutes and once I calmed down I get ready to hop back on and go. I fix the chain and straighten the handlebars and try to get back on. The wheel is bent to shit and I can't ride it. So I walk the bike two miles home and drive to work.
