    WLS success stories in advertising

I know the one Lapband commercial I see over and over again has a 30 something woman on there who looks to be at least 20 pounds overweight. She is talking about her surgery and hunger and her before photo is on the refrigerator in the background and they zoom in on it. In comparing the photos it is obvious she had lost weight. The commercial is more focused on how she feels better and whatnot. If that is what they are showing me in a commercial then that must be what they feel is a normal patient that does not need the results not typical in small print below her picture. Honestly I don't know if that would work for me. I did not get this surgery to stay overweight. I got this surgery to live a long healthy life and lose all of my excess weight, not just some of it.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Lucky....I wish the damn shop would call and let me know it is done. Hopefully by tomorrow. I hate running lol. Not really, but I don't like it as much as riding.

Well damn I hope my absence did not cause the trauma... Yes I do believe I am that important and the world does revolve around me.
  4. What the hell I need to spice up my life. Level 5 Elite for me y'all. Thanks for starting the thread Zannie. I came home a bit sooner than planned.
  5. Okay July is almost on us. Pick two of the following to choose your challenge. I also want to add something new this month. We need to try and check in everyday. In our check in I want one positive thing that has happened to you on that day. One great thing you did for your diet, or one great thing you did with exercise. Any good thing that has happened that day. If the day is horrible look in yourself and choose to make it better. You determine how you react to things. Life is 10% things that happen to you and 90% how you react to those things. I want us all to have the best month of our lives. We are doing awesome and we can keep doing this! July Exercise Challenge Level 1- 12 days Level 2- 15 days (you guys could have told me this said 20 days also lol) Level 3- 20 days Beginner-20 minutes Moderate-30 minutes Intermediate-45 minutes Advanced-60 minutes Elite-60+ minutes I am shooting for Level 3 Elite this month. __________________

    Swimming -- wow!

I love swimming. I actually had the kids at the city pool today though there was no lap swimming. I have not done laps lately though I competitively swam for a year when I was in high school. I didn't do too badly considering I was by far the biggest girl out there. DH and I are going to join a gym in October and I am really excited to be able to get back to it.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Let's see after reading my above post I meant Malibu RUM not run. I don't wanna run to Malibu but I do wanna drink their rum. I also have gotten back to running since my bike is out of commission. I got off the treadmill and onto the road. Treadmill running is way easier. I did run a full mile without stopping today though.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Damn y'all. 10+ pages and an hour later it seems. Now I can respond lol. You are lucky you followed this up with this quote.... Is this still on? Will there be Malibu run involved? Holy crap JC I hope you are feeling better. I like to tell people my old lower body workout used to be hauling around 280 pounds. So vacation was pretty good. We had a few bike mishaps since our bikes are nicknamed POS 1 and POS 2. The weather was not particularly kind to us the last few days we were there so we did not get to do the nice long state park bike ride. I did get to go on a few little rides though. Not as much as I would have liked but it was still fun. I did not have any temptation to drink and though I snacked a bit more than i would have liked it was nothing near the damage I would have done pre-band. Plus I did get exercise, walking, riding, swimming. Not too bad at all. They have a huge sand dune in the middle of the forest and I climbed the actual hill a few times. There is a trail to get there that consists of about 300 stairs halfway up and then a trail the rest of the way. Probably took the kids up half a dozen times. They loved running down the hill. I have lots of pics but of course I left my camera there so I have to wait for my parents to bring it home. Lots of fun stuff happened. My DD learned to ride a two wheeler and lost her second tooth. My DS learned to swim with his armband floaties on (he is scared of pretty much everything lol). DH went out on a charter boat fishing with all the men there and barfed his guts out hehe. Oh and my little brother proposed to his girlfriend while we were there so I am going to have a new sister in law and step niece. I am so excited. I do have this whole week off work which is nice because I effing hate that hell hole. My bike is in the shop...again. Mostly my fault since I managed to lose my temper when I discovered that the pedals of the other bike (which is also broken) had scratched up my brand new effing car while on the bike rack. I pulled my bike off and pretty much Hulk Hogan body slammed the thing to the ground. Bent the handlebars pretty badly. That and fixing the brakes is going to cost me about $120. I was also fighting with DH at the time which fueled me even more. Not a good excuse for a temper tantrum though. Luckily it was my cheapy mountain bike. I don't think I could ever get that mad at a nice expensive road bike. But I am glad to be home. I missed you all and posting. Did you know if you don't post for awhile LBT sends you an email asking where you are lol.

    Challenge - July - Labor Day 2007

Deanna today is my weigh in day. Scale is holding strong at 218. I have missed a few days biking due to the weather and my eating has not been the greatest. Tis okay. I am not weighing in for the next three weeks due to vacation and lack of scale. Though I will be back on Monday of the 3rd week I am going to wait until my normal Friday weigh in. I fully expect to work my ass off riding while I am camping and be 20something when I come back lol.

HP take a protein bar with you on your walk and eat it as you walk. It may not be ideal but it will at least allow yo to get some food in so you are not starving.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

JC I agree with everything that Deanna said. You are awesome and what you have done is nothing short of amazing. You can do, you can beat this thing. All of us can. On a side note I have felt like shit almost all day. I took a 4 hour nap which for em just makes me feel worse. Dh got home at 8:30 and I forced myself up and out on the bike. I feel a bajillion times better now. Thanks for the nice words on the pic. I love my comfy little computer setup lol. I am going to have some rocking 6 month photos for you all when I get back from vacation.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I am the queen of fills. I went in weekly or every other week for about 2 months until I finally had good restriction. My first fill was at 4 weeks and I think I have had like 6 or 7 fills. I was very vocal in making sure I got the restriction that I needed. I don't remember exactly when the last on was but I think I was about at 240. I probably could use another fill since I can eat a bit more than i should but as long as I am lsing I odn't want to stop enjoing being able to eat.
