  1. Hey Everyone. Ok. I got a .5cc fill on Friday for total of a little over 6cc. Before the fill I could each almost anything as long as I ate after lunch as I was snug in the mornings. But I had noticed I could eat more than I should. The last time I had a fill it took about a week for my stomach to adjust (couldn't eat anything). This time it is slightly worse. My morning coffee creeps down (can can hear it sliding through the band. I'm thinking I should have .25cc taken out. Or, should I wait a week and see what happens? What do you guys think?

    swelling with fills

I too had my third fill Friday. I left for the beach Saturday expecting to be able to eat some fish by Sunday. I was wrong. Anything solid hurts going down. I can eat soup and oatmeal. Can't eat anything hard even if I chew the heck out of it. I can tell it starting to get a little better today. I thought about getting a slight unfill but then told myself...this is why I did it. Greek yogurt, refried beans and protein shakes for a couple of weeks and then I will decide.

    Frustration

I think there has to be something else going on. Are you watching calorie intake. It is a fact that if you use more calories than you take in you will lose weight. Try a food journal for a a few weeks and share it with your nutritionist. Good luck.

    fills

You have to be eating too many calories. Lapband only help. You have to work hard to get there. Food journal is a great idea.

Ahhh i'm going to my 1st fill!!!

My first fill really didn't do anything. I go for my second this week. I have heard it normally takes 3-4 to hit your sweet spot.
  9. I have red, warm to the touch circles around each incision that itch horribly. I was told that it was an allergic reaction to the skin adhesive they used.
  10. I went through the presurgery jitters. I was banded on April 19th. I get my first fill next Thursday. The first week was a little uncomfortable. Heck, I was pulling weeds in the flower beds 4 days after my surgery. I am just now starting to have an appetitie but I am able to control it. The worst part for me not being able to sleep on my port side as I am a side sleeper. But, I can do it now! Good luck.

    First fill

I have my first fill next Thursday! Can't wait.
  12. I cheated today too. Haven't cheated once since I started my preop diet and I was banded on April 19th. My kids made me a ice cream sundae (w/fat free frozen yogurt) although the choc. syrup canceled that out. I figure once cheat won't hurt me. Back on track tomorrow.
  13. One week today. I haven't had any major problems except lots of gas pains under my ribs at night. Getting better every night. Today I had a cup of potatoe soup for lunch. Stuffed me full!!!!!!! I am having problem drinking the required amount of liquids. Today I am 20 pounds down in a month and I haven't started exercising yet. Can't wait to add that to my routine.
  14. I'm worried about getting bored too. Does your husband like Mexican? My nutritionist gave me a great recipe. Ground turkey burger topped with lowfat cheese and low sugar salsa. It's yummy.
  15. OK Bandsters., I was banded the 19th of April. Have been doing great. Tonight I decided to mow the yard on the riding mower. MISTAKE. Myy band and port site are hurting and tender. I ate fine with no issues so i don't think anything slipped. What in the world? Can someone tell me why I hurt now?

    Ouch,..,.,what did I do?

I love my Bandster family! Thanks so much for advice.
  17. I am so sorry. Keep you chin up and get right back on track. What caused your band slippage?

    April 2011 Bandits

I became a bandster on April 19th. I'm down 21 pounds since the beginning of my three week pre-op diet until now. I've lost about 8 pounds since surger. Pain the first couple of days. Working in the yard on day 4 and 5. Back to work on day 6. The gas has really hurt at night. Especially up under my ribs. Better each day. I'm still on yogurt and soup through next week. I'm not hungry at all and about 1/2 cup of soup satisfies me for about 4 hours. I am so excited about this lifestyle change. I am 47 years old and tried every diet in the world. This is the first time I am truly dedicated and ready for the change. So glad there are people like me to share this journey. -Tammy
  19. Days 2-3 my pain was bad. Day 3 I was working in the yard, careful not to lift over 10 pounds. At night I still get terrible gas pain under my ribs but getting better every day.
  20. Happened to me to! I had my surger the day after you did. Mine was a combination of things. Gas from surgery in my neck was one. I too couldn't take the pain meds because they made me sick. Headaches worse in the morning. Today was the first day I just had a very small one. Looks like you are about where I am on the weight loss journey. Good luck!
  21. Hi Everyone! I got banded on Tuesday. Had a hernia repaired while they were in there. Very small hernia. Today it was 80 and beautiful here in North Carolina. I couldn't resist working in the yard. I ddin't pick up anything over 10 pounds. But let's face it, at 257 pounds getting up off the ground does result in some pulling. DID I HURT ANYTHING??? Nothing hurts except for the incisions and the occasional gas bubble near the band. Once in a while I get a port pain. For me working in the yard is taking it easy. I am worried to death. Everyone fussed at me throughout the day and told me I'd end up back in the hospital. I feel great.
  22. I'm in Greensboro!! Hey - not bad at all. You go to sleep and wake up a little uncomfortable. Gets better every day.
  23. Hi Everyone, My name is Tammy. I am 48 years old. Mother of two, grandma of one. Ready to change my life. I am about 100 pounds overweight. I start my 3 week preop diet tomorrow. I feel bad because I have really been cheating over the past week trying to get the last taste of my favorite foods. I am ready to start my new journey tomorrow. I was torn between bypass and lapband. My insurance company would only approve lapband so here I am. I AM READY. I WILL SUCCEED. I am starting this new journey for my health. I want to be around a long time for my kids and grandkids. Look forward to making some great friends here and help contribute to a support system.
