Pre-Op Cold Feet - Help! I'm Scared...
Lilu replied to madambones's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well the only thing I can say is, Who are you doing this for? You are working out the pro and con through your dreams! Take a Picture of the look you want and replace the face with yours and Put it on you door and write yourself a letter every nite about the positive things that will be different for you when you lose the weight. My date is April 11th and no cold feet here and a high risk person because of medical reasons. You will do fine and the dreams turn from bad to good. I now dream about me in a two piece bathing suit on the beach in rio. -
Oh yeah, I got my date April 11,2012 Finally I can stop wondering when will this happen. Happy because I am going to lose my health coverage again. Funny but I will get to enjoy easter, This year we decided to go to church and then the Zoo. I will be able to walk with only having pain in my feet. I will enjoy my grandkids.

Any New Yorkers With Health Plus Insurance?
Lilu replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Insurance & Financing
@beba238 in the wlc center is there a cordinator that you can speak to. In montefiore wlc they send you all the referrals for all test need. and give you a list of doctors that you must see to be cleared for surgery. If you really want to see your old doctor you need to find out all the insurance that the hospital takes that are the same as your old PCP. If this coverage is with Medicaid you can change it because you want to stay with old PCP. It took me about six month to see the doctors but I had some hidden problem and it took me a year to be cleared. But I did not meet the dead line for the insurance and had to start over. It was easier the second time and the wake lost dr. did the endoscopy. I was ready to be sleeve but the anasg. was not sure in her skill and cancelled the surgery. I am now waiting for my new date that will be sometime at the end of april, It would have been earlier but I could not take any more days off of school with failing. So the delay was my choice. For the endoscopy you need a gastic doctor to order it. Good luck Feel free to message me -

And I let my PCP know that I was interested in having the surgery. I have cleared all screening and get another date for the last two weeks in april. The last clearence I need is from my PCP and it my not be older than 30 days . Good Luck -
Any New Yorkers With Health Plus Insurance?
Lilu replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Insurance & Financing
@ beba238 It is true that thier are limits to some insurance. Healthfirst give you a limit of a year to complete everything and get surgery date. it does not require you to submit a six month weight lose letter from your doctor. But Affinity, Metro Plus and some other ones do require a sim month weight lose letter. The six month letter is to prove that you are having problem losing weight under the supervision of the medical team. If you lose weight on the six month it does not stop you from having the surgery it better for you. Good Luck going soon in april Yey -
Hang on in there it will come sooner than you think. Sometime you have to jump all the huddles to get to the finish line. I have been waiting since Oct. 2010 and finally I will get my day at the end of April. Even though I understand how you feel but it will get better and the days will fly bye quickly. And we will be sleeved.

But in my opinion you should never leave a job in the wrong way always keep your door open to return. When you give notice just say that you are leaving for health reasons and that is a professional answer to why you are leaving. Wait till you get the job before you leave or give notice being unemployed and looking for a new job is hard. Good Luck

Does Your Mirror Lie?
Lilu replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mirror lies to it depends what I wear. If I have black on I look thin but when I wear my night shirt I look hugh. LOL I really don't worry about that because my self esteem is high. I am looking forward to my surgery so that the mirror won't lie to me. -
Medical Issue Diabetes on insulin pump 1 stroke and 4 TIA ICS stenoius(narrowing) in the left side of brain Neuropathy in feet New thing is a possible Reno problem. sleep apena

Well I have a long list of medical issue but I have a narrowing in an artery and they say there is nothing to due for it right now at my age. there is a chance of stroking on the table. I am getting an anaesthetist who speciallizes in my problem. So they feel that I am high risk. So I am looking for people willing to talk about their co-ob issue and how it played in their surgery. Private message are ok. Just looking for some comfort that I am not the only high risk know to me.
-
Once again I am getting the jitters and looking for anyone that was high risk and has been sleeved that is willing to share your story. I am high risk and have not meet anyone with high risk issue. I was already cancelled once and waiting for the new date, which it is the last week of april. Help please reach out.

I don't understand what is happening to me lately. I am so ready for my sleeve surgery, but I think since I was canceled and had to reschedule later than I really wanted I been feeling a little blue. It does not help that I also have been feeling a little sick. Not really sure when it started but I noticed it alot when I need to go shopping for a shirt to wear to a party because none of the outfits I had did not fit. I tried very hard to not cry in the store but I just could not get a hold of myself. The fitting did not have much privatice and when a new woman came in she found me on the floor crying my eyes out. After that I found something that look like a tent, I left and hoped for the best. That was on Friday. On Saturday I got dress and had my hair done and my husband keep telling me "Wow baby you look beautiful." I was on cloud nine. Then I took pictures and cried again away from the family because I never thought I was getting that fat. I wish I could stop feeling the BLUES because I know I will be slimmer sooner or later. When I seeing certain people I get body envy, hoping to have nice waist, and thinner look. I keep thinking about what I will start doing to do right after surgery, I will put my money away for the removal of any skin that hangs. Blues go away

2 Questions: How Often Did You See The Nurtritionist, And What Happens In A Sleep Study, please Give Details?
Lilu replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it depends on your insurance I saw the Nut once and I had a sleep study from hell. I can not sleep on my back and was told by the tech that I must sleep on my back only. I also was having discomfort in my arm from a fall I had the day before. I could not watch TV or listen to music, I laid in bed for about two hours before I fell asleep. I have to say I snore and never had a sleep complaint in my life. After all the wires were place and I sleep for 15 mins the tech came in and placed a cpap mask on me. I now hate the cpap machine I don't get a good night sleep anymore and I have more gas now. I now take naps but I use it because I want to have my surgery in May. Remeber what you do or have done will not be the same for all locations so the outcome can be different for all. Good Luck -
How To Stop Being So Impatient?
Lilu replied to Tana_Q's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Think about it like this I have more time to practice some things. Focus on sipping your drinks and chewing your food 30 times before swollening. Also try stopping drinking and eating before, during and after you eat. Also focus on staying health to have the surgery done. Make a plan on how you are going to spend your time when you get out of the hospital. Once you plan these thing be prepared for the plans not to go as you planned it. Think about these things and you will forget the surgery I hope. I will find out my new date some time in April talk about have surgery on the brain -
Funny since I decided to go on this journey I have beening dream of myself thinner on the beach with a two piece bathing suit. I was able to find a job that gave me a car and best position in the company. And also a high school reunion that I had to pull out a before picture to my old friends. and last night I had a dream that I got the attention of alot of men and my husband was jealous and paying attention to me too. Just dreaming that I walked so proud made me feel good.

I Think I Found The Silver Lining In My Cloud!
Lilu posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry about the length of this one. The week is coming to an end and I think I may have found a ounce of hope hidden behind my heart. My grandkids have been very concerned with grandma and worried because I was crying alot. So last night my 4 year granddaughter came to me and said to me please don't cry anymore I will happy you find hope it will be okay. To tell you the truth she made me cry even more. Then she gets her brothers and tells them that I am crying because I lost my hope and the 5 year old tell her and the 6 year old that I didn't lose hope because she was in school yesterday. I started to laugh and the 6 year old tells them that they should come to my room and tell me that I could have some of their hope, and again I started to cry. So I step back away from the door and thought about what they were talking about and about an hour later while we sat to eat dinner they asked if they could give me something to make me feel better and I told them yes to my surprise they handed me a little bottle fill with glitter it had three colors. While everyone watch them the 6 year year old said, " Because you show us so much love and caring we want you to stop crying and give you some of our hope. My color is silver, I.O.'s color is gold and nena's color is purple." We love you grandma. There was not a dry eye at the table. My friend says to me I see you rubbed off on them. Because I have a few of those bottles too. With that I went to bed thinking about what to do, so I said in the morning I will stop the crying and take some actions. I email the neuro doctor and told him what happen and stated that we need to do something about my ICS in the brain so I could get the surgery. He called me and we spoke he stated that I was okay to have the surgery and why didn't I have the anesthiologist he requested to assisted the surgeon. He then called the doctor and told him that the ICS is in the brain and they don't do anything for it at this stage and please use the anesthiologist he recommened to assist because he is know the case and how to handle it. So I will be a May sleever. I will continue the high Protein diet because since monday I have not been able to really eat much. -
It wasn't ment for me! I did the diet; drink the laxative; went in got undress; wait three hours then got dress and went home at 3pm. I now must see another doctor again. This time I don't know when it will happen because I will have to start over. So will be falling off the wagon for tonight I will eat last night superbowl left overs. I have been behaving myself since I started this journey and no matter how much I watch what I eat how much exercise I do I just can't catch a break. Good Luck every one else

Well according to the anesthesiologist I need to see a vascular doctor for a slight blockage in my brain. Which was found in Dec 2010 I have been see a Neuro for a good year regarding it and he suggested this anesthesiologist for the surgery she was a specialist that can handled this type of situation. Well at the end I was sent home to see a vascular or neurosurgeon to make a choice what is next. As I explained before by the time I see these doctors I will have missed my chance and start all over again. So for now this thought is left for the back burner. I need a job and school to finish! I will try to hang on to the last ounce of good health I have.

:coolgleamA: Things are looking up for me. Thanks for everyones support eventhough i was so unsupportable at that time. I thank god that he has put you in my path. I had CT of kidneys done and there were no stones :biggrinjester: Now I was told that two of my clearance are missing. So can I call the doctor so I did and thought I hit another wall, But took a deep breath and called the person who submit the paper work to the insurance companyand she found them. I have cleared another huddle. Today is my last huddle I must wait to see if the doctor will still go forth with surgery because they didn't find stones but my right kidney look adnormal, I explain that it has always look that way. I have know since I was sixteen. So praying and keeping my fingers crossed I will be sleeved on 2/6/12. Clear diet starts on Saturday until day of then no liquids. God is great. :Banane59:

I had my CT today and tried to get the tech to give me a heads up, but no luck. So I asked when will these results be in, she told me that by the afternoon. I still have to wait until friday after the PA speaks to my surgeon. I have already threw in the towel I called to see when the urogolist can see me to my disappointment not till end of March. I called alot in my health coverage and that is the date everyone is giving. This is a major set back for me. The wait is killing me I just want to know if it is cancelled. Still dieting. No Smiles for me
