go to surgical supply place and get skin prep wipes. It helps to prevent the rashes and blisters the same happen to me if i leave the bandage or tape to long.
-
yes you can do it. just take it slow and continue your sugar free pop and Jello tea and broth. when eating eat your Protein first and drink at least 48 ounces of liquid daily. great job other wise.

Is This A Problem For Anyone Else?
Lilu replied to It's all new's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why does your friend have to get with the program because you chose to change your life. You need to examine why you feel a problem with him talking about what he ate. After my surgery I spent three weeks an a clear diet and puree diet. When I went to regular food I ate what my diet said I could eat. And my friends ate what they wanted. They talk to me about the foods they ate and how good it was and I would tell them that sounds go but I can't not have any of it at the moment. I knew that as I move along in my choice I know I will be able to eat more things in time. Every thing you do is for you and you can not expect everyone to change because you are. I think you are over reacting and need to talk to your long time friend and maybe see someone about the food issue. It really should not bother you so much. I am sorry if you feel I am being hard it is just that I feel you are getting support but you want people to act one way that you only agree, you are not being supportive back. Good luck hope things get better. -
What To Do With These Nutritionist Smh
Lilu posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just venting. I am not like everyboby else so your diet plan can not be general. Why can't you take some time and plan a diet according to what I can eat. You know I have alleregy so why not take some time to care. The second thing that I hate that they do is for get I am poor and cook alot in my culture. Tell me what cals and protien are in my culture food. I have to do the work myself. this sucks!!!! -

Females Who Are Actively Losing - What Is Your Calorie & Protein Intake?
Lilu replied to Cherrybomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure about the calorie intake but I am hitting the protein intake at about 70 to 90 a day. I am losing about a 1 to 2 pounds a week. It really depends on how much I walk a day and if I included pool exercise class. What i finds that helps is the old weight watcher menus. Also the menu that are in alot of the diet books. Did you know that 3 oz of tuna has 25g of protien I looked for a list to see how much protien is in the things I eat. Check that out. And as my Dr. said don't be surprise if you don't lose a pound a week it is normal just be pat. -
I weigh myself on the wii scale then I weighed myself with the surgeons scale. PCP doctor weighed me on his scale and grandbabies bought me a scale too. They all have different numbers? SMH
-
thanks every one i weigh myself in the morning at the same time every day. I do this after my shower. The difference is five pound between the doctors scale and the new and wii scale. i will continue using the wii scale because it tracks for me

One Month Out...and All Is Well (For Me, Not My Husband)
Lilu commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
Some times you find a person who's story sounds like yours. I was laughing and thinking about how similar that was. My husband told the doctor okay I know am a piece of meat, but if I give in will it end in a month. I don't want to get use to this and then I cut off. LOL -
Is There Something Wrong With Me? I Have No Problem W/3-4 Oz
Lilu replied to Isabel'sGma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like your are doing great. You are example of how different we really are. I thought I was off to because I get all my protein in. But working on my walking. Thanks for the taco cupcake. -
I wish I would have been told the following truth; 1. you must practice stop eating and drinking at the same time 2. you must practice chewing your food about 30 chew before you swallow 3. All doctors have different diet plans before surgery 4. to have this surgery you might have to jump thru some hoops depending on your health, insurance, and Doctor 5.I knew this one be very honest about your health issuse your succees depends on it. After surgery it was going to be another rocky road that you have to travel. 6. Really take it easy and try your best to plan at least a month of rest 7. Plan for set backs that could happen like infection, pain, not being able to move in the diet like others 8. The gas pain is worst than site pain 9. Your brain needs time to catch up with your sleeve and it will take you time to retrain your self to eat. The last truth I can say right now is we are all different and our bodies react to things very different. Once you get yourself over some humps you will start to feel that you did the right thing to get a handle on your weight issue. I am about five weeks out and feeling much better, still some bumps with eating but I will get a handle on it. So good luck to all that are thinking about doing this for themselves you will love it.

Today I got up and was getting ready to see the nuro doctor and walked by my mirror and was happy to see the person in that mirror eventhough I have a funny mirror. I was proud!!! I also notice that I have lessen the hair growth on my face. I am not seeing much hair lost on my head but in my private part it falls out in clumps. Sorry for the TMI. since I have had the weight lost I was able to wipe myself and really get clean. When I sneeze I don't pee a little any more. The last little change is I was able to put on this griddle that I use to use to lift my belly so that it would not hang. It makes me look prego just a bit but it helps my back from having so much pain. Oh my feet are not swollen any more. The little changes is what I live for. Any one else see the little changes?

I lost pounds right away. Surgery 4/11/12 and as of 4/7/12 I have lost 27 lbs. But my advice to you is all of us are different and what may happen to one may not happen to others. My start was a rocky on The surgery went well but my recovery took a left turn. I was a very high risk person and was worried about the problems that may happen. June will be here sooner than you know it start working on changing things in your life. Stp eating and drinking. Start chewing your food at least 30 times before swollowing. You will have to reprogram yourself to eat again after your surgery.

Hi sorry I'm late but doing great how are you doing?
-
Sorry for the update so late but I am doing good now. I got over the problem and now on solids. I am following everything like my life depended on it. I eat my protien first because I can't really eat alot if I have space i try to eat my steam vegs and try to get some starchs in. I drink boost for my Protein shake twice a day to complete my protein in. Try not to drink and eat and eat slow too. Everyone is different just work on some changes now and to take it slow.

I will be honest I had my surgery on 4/11/12 and I was like what have I done. I was able the first day to drink Water and some crstal light. the next day everything went down hill. I was in the hospital until 4/15/12. went home for two days and went back in because every drop of water I would take in came right out. All this was dueto an infection I had. I stay in the hospital until the 4/24/12. At home had some scare but push thru it. Yes mental you have some regret but once you feel better you lose those thought. Everyone is different and what happens afterwards is what give you regrets. Now on solid diet and walking 30 mins a day five days a week. Good Luck
-
The first person I want to thank is god. I had a rough time, I was sleeved on 4-11-12 and caught a bad infection and went back to hospital. Then I was in alot of pain and thought that I was never going to get better. I also want to thank you guys because if it was not for your kind words I would not have mad it to the LOSER club (LOL). I have move up to the third stage of my diet solid food and was told by my doctor that I am doing great. He wants me to walk more at least 30 mins a day five days a week. and try going up hills. I laughed and said well my little dog will be happy about that she will get more time outside. And walking the dog around my home will be up and down hill. Feeling Great I don't regret anything. All the hoops and hurddles were worth it. 27 pounds down and 78 pounds to go.
