Well I just looked back and its 2 1/2 weeks since I hit onederland, and I really couldn't imagine ANYTHING feeling so good as that did, but I guess it has been a good couple of weeks all in all, and it does!! First I hit onderland, :cheer2: :cheer2: then my next aim was to be overweight, and no longer obese, which I hit a week ago :clap2::clap2: , and today I got back into the 13 stone bracket AND hit the 40lb loss marker   I'm 2lb off 3 stone loss, and 6lb away form being the same weight as my wedding day (After not seeing that for 8 years of self abuse, and 2 pregancnies!). So here is my next set of promises to myself; I am going to go back to basics for a week, back to liquid only and 90g Protein without fail, I am going to lose that 6lb within the next 8 days to hit my easter goal! I am going to weigh LESS than I did on my wedding day by the time I go on holiday in 2 weeks, and I will not be afraid to wear shorts in public while I'm away. I have a dress which is about 1/2 inch too small around my bust, it will fit, and I WILL wear it to my friend's wedding in 4 weeks from now. And when I do? I'll be a size smaller than I have ever been in my adult life, and I will have lost 4 1/2 dress sizes. I will dance at the reception, I will not hide from their photographer, and I may (possibly) even let my own husband carry me over the threshold as I was too scared of hurting him on our own honeymoon night as I felt so fat! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!:success1:

Just 12 more POUNDS and then I am saying bye-bye to 200's forever!
cludgie replied to Weightbgone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is great news, I actually wept when I got there, and it felt sooooooooooooo good. Let us know how you get on - everyone is :cheer2: :cheer2: ing for you! -
I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I read on another thread that someone had been told by their surgeon it was ok as long as you stir some of the fizz out with a spoon before you drink it! I was most afraid of giving up fizzy drinks out of all the changes I have faced, I would get through 8-10 litres of pepsi max a week until my surgery, and I have to admit that I have had a few sips since (when no other drink option was available) and its just soooo uncomfortably gassy!! I found a bottle a few weeks ago which was so old it was completely flat, and it was nice, but it didn't particularly make me want more of it. I guess that as time passes and habbits change the urge does reduce significantly. The biggest problem I have is finding suitable mixers with alcoholic drinks (cranberry juice all the way now!). I do on occasion allow myself a beer or a cider, but some of those tend to be more bubbly than others (I do do the stirring trick, which looks a little odd in a pub), but I've found some ar emuch more gassy than others, so if I find one that goes down nicely I'll try that again in future, and slowly avoid the ones that didn't suit. wow - I just re-read my post and realised how much it sounds like I drink!!! he he!

I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time, I think I was quite lucky because I've had other abdominal surgeries, so I wasn't too blindsided by how I felt post op. I can totally sympathise though because I had swine flu two weeks before my surgery was due, which left me feeling awful, and then just three weeks post op I got Norovirus, and couldn't even take liquids for over 3 days. I was miserable, and I was terrified, so completely get how hideous things must have been for you. On the positive side I'm now three months out, and I don't seem to have been any more or less prone to illness since my surgery than I was before, although I have felt a little more weak and shaky than normal, but then my body is both burning kcalories I'm not consuming, and trying to fight off whatever illness I have, so it's going to have to work a little harder. Hope that your meds kick in soon, and that youn are feeling better quickly.

Thank you so much for your support everyone. I'm not usually boastful, or particularly confident in such matters, so whilst I was having a good time I thought it would be good to post it, so when I struggle I can look back and remind myself why I am on this crazy ride. I' going on the theory that for us all to be on this site, and to be at our various stages of surgery and weight loss, we must have had at least one defining moment of "I'm worth it!", its why we are changing our lives so drastically, so lets be nice to ourselves along the way, Celebrate the changes (both big and little) as they happen, and make the most of it. We only pass this way once, so lets have a blast! Cx p.s. Coops - when I say I just crept back into the 13s, I do mean just (13.12 today), so I'm certain your stall will break, and you'll be letting me know what the 12s are like long before I see them for myself!

SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Cludgie.........209...................195................189..........6 6lb in 8 days? Why the hell not??? -
One of my best friends (who does not know I've had surgery, who NEVER gives compliments, and is brutally honest as a rule of thumb) announced last night, and with no prompting "you know I looked at your wedding photos last night, and your face is almost as thin now as it was then!" Possibly an odd NSV, but I've been married for 8 years, and although I felt like I was massive on my wedding day, I've been nowhere near that thin since, and when I fist had my consultation about WLS, my goal was to get back to where I was then. I really want to be one of those people who could say 10 years on that I held back time and still fit my wedding dress perfectly. Well I'm 6lb off now, and of course I don't want to stop there, but somebody noticed, and said the right thing, which was just bliss!!! :D

3 weeks into it and I don't know what to expect
cludgie replied to gordatoflaca's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It is so hard to really know what to expect, and everyone's journey is completely individual, but what you are feeling is perfectly normal. I think I am a pretty slow loser, but someone advised me a few weeks out that "normal" 6 week post op weight loss is 26lb or above, I was almost exactly that at 6 weeks out, and it was hard seeing people sleeved the same time as me who had lost easily double that, but I had the sleeve instead of other surgeries so that it could be a small part of my life rather than the focus of it, so I possibly don't diet as hard as some people, or excercise as much, but I am sticking with a regeime which is comfortable, and I am thankful for every lb that I lose. Another really good bit of advice I was given was don't push your new stomach if it isn't ready. I know some people on here who didn't start to try mushies until 3 or more months post op. I am 3 months post op, and avoid anything bread like, anything too sugary as it makes me feel like I'm having a heart attack, and I always eat my Protein first. Some days I just don't want to eat, so I'll go back to Soups and shakes, and the biggest thing I have still got to learn is to slow down! I will still wolf food down and end up making myself sick, but it took me 31 years to develop my bad habbits, and it'll take me a while to train my mind out of them. Your weight loss is fantastic, and it will work for you, so be kind to yourself and let the magic happen! Big hugs Cx -

SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Cludgie.........209...................198................189..........9 Hitting another looooong stall, but my friend just suggested some supplements which are supposed to get things kick started naturally (stuff like green tea, and garlic), so giving that a go and keeping everything x'd!! -
Well I've been stalling the last couple of weeks, and was a little dissappointed to have missed my march 5th goal, by a whopping 7lb! However upped my Protein again, and today I finally got to onderland, and even if I sound a little self absorbed, it feels sooo good, and I am a little proud of self for getting there. Next Mini goal is 195lb, which is simply "overweight", well I never thought I'd be so excited by the prospect of being overweight, but it sounds so much better than being clinicaly obese, and on the road to morbidly obese, which is where I was until 5th January. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!!

How did you decide on your goal weight?
cludgie replied to Amanda131's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I decided that I'd be aspirational with my goal, my lightest weight since I was 11 years old was 163lb, which I had to fight to get to, and only managed to stay at for about a week before it statd to creep back up! I remember feeling really good at that weight, but still feeling there was a little room for improvement, so I figure 154lb, which is right in the middle of my healthy weight range was enough under that to hopefully fel great. I am however a realist, and if I get to a point between now and then which seems healthy an comfortable, I'll re-conside my goal, i'd rather aim high and mis than aim low and miss Good luck. -

A little early to be posing here, but 1/3 of the journey complete!
cludgie posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I know that it means I still have a long journey left, but having lost 2 stone as of today I am a little over 1/3 of the way to my goal weight. That 1/3 has happened in 6 1/2 weeks despite everything slowing right down after the first week or so, and in that time I have lost 3 dress sizes. I have a couple of weeks to my birthday (not sure I'll manage my 8lb to onederland, but I'm giving it my best shot!), and I went out yesterday and bought my going out clothes from a normal rail in a normal shop, and not the outsize department. The only way is down, although in the best possible way! I love my sleeve!!!! -

Any other tattooed sleevers?
cludgie replied to FuriosMommy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have none yet (went to get one once and the artist anihalated my design!), I'd always thought I'd go for the inside of my wrist to minimise sagging, but latterly my thoughts are somewhere a little more hidden if I gain back any flat bits! My design is the line drawing of an art deco poppy in just white ink so its really subtle. Its a memorial tattoo, so I kind of like the idea of it being pale and the suggestion of an image, like a residual memory, or ghost image. Apparently it'd never work on my wrist as the sun would turn it yellow Oh well, I will pluck up the courage once my Goal is in sight! -

Ok, so I managed my Valentines goal with one day to spare, and I'm gong aggressive too even though I seem to be a slow loser - I have a holiday and a wedding coming up after easter, and I have a dress to wear which is still a size and a half too small, so I have to get shifting this weight! Good Luck everyone :clap2: SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Cludgie.........209......................209.............189...........20 (Which would take me from obese to overweight for the first time in 11 years!)
