    Which Band????

Hi, My main questions are about the bands. I know the Inamed is the only band in the USA that is FDA approved, but has anyone heard when/if the Swedish band (by Johnson & Johnson) is going to be FDA approved in the US. I have heard the swedish band and the midband both have less complications, but that was only from one doctors office. What Band have you gotten? If you didn't get the Inamed, is it hard to find a fill doctor in the states with the swedics band or mid-band. HELP...I need good information. Thanks! I really love this site! anybody out there?

Hi Dr. C, My name is Laura and I also have a lower BMI (5'4, 195lbs.) so I will be paying out of pocket and going out of the states to get my surgery done. Probably Canada, since I am in Ohio it is much closer than Mexico. My main questions are about the bands. I know the Inamed is the only band in the USA that is FDA approved, but have you heard when/if the Swedish band (by Johnson & Johnson) is going to be FDA approved in the US. 8. Hi, I'm Laura. Just wondering if anyone knows a fill place in Ohio that fill people who were banded outside of the country. Thanks!
  9. I am looking into the band and it seems great and its seems to be for me! I battled my weight all my life, been on all the diets including prescription drugs. I am 5'4 (small frame) with a 36 BMI...so I do not "qualify" to get banded in the US. I have been looking into Canada and Mexico and people seem to have good experiences. But living right in the middle of Ohio does help me if I would need a fill if my doctor is a $400-$600 plane ride away (that would add up). I have researched the fill centers but there does not seem to be one close to me. Does anyone live in Ohio, got thier band out of the country, but gets fills back in Ohio...or anyone one in a similar situation? Also, how much does a fill cost when it is not with you original band doctor? Thanks! I am really excited that I found this sight! Laura
