Exercise/5 day post op
sexyat44 replied to Bandedbear's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about a light walk??? Since I am having a lot of problems with gas, the nurse advised me to walk and that would help the bloatness and gas I'm experiencing. -
I am still burping and I have gas that needs to be release....HELP
sexyat44 posted a blog entry in sexyat44's Blog
I hate burping because it's hurts my tummy and chest. The gas is there, but it feels like it moving around waiting on something. Well come gas, I dare you.......LOL This may be one of the reason why I don't want to intake much fluids and I'm looking at my protein shake and about to gag. Well, I try to drink at least 1 oz of liquids every hour, and see how that works. In the meantime, I need to expel some of this gas. -

I'm hoping it's just a week for me....go to the dr on 4/8/2011 to give me the go ahead to Phase 2. Chicken noodle soup, eggs, and cream of wheat here I come....lol. -
I am really struggling to get down these the fluids...it's 8pm and I've gotten 20ozs of fluids in and I should be taking in more than that. I just don't have the appetite and the top of my stomach hurts. In addition, I am still burping like crazy. Sucking on SF popsicles seem to relieve the discomfort I'm experiencing, I really need to get down the protein liquids, but I gag at the though of it. My fluids intake should be more than 20 ozs...I think???? As far as the healing process, I am able to move around with some discomfort, so that's good news. I have an appt with dr this Friday and I will discuss what's going on with me. I know that this journey will get better.

Will try to do that and sees what happens.

I woke up this morning with a gas feeling in my chest and left shoulder and burping. My major concern is getting down the fluids without feeling like I have chest pains and have a "stuck" feeling in my chest. Should that be happening??? I don't want to take in fluids because of this and not to mention I haven't had a BM since my surgery 2 days ago.
-
My goal is between 145-150 according to my age, frame, and height. I really just want to be healthy and able to manage my back pain a little bit better. I had two back surgeries and I stand on my feet all day, which is an uncomfortable feeling. I just want to wake and enjoy the day without having all this pain in my back.

I'll be glad when I start loving my band...right now I am feeling horrible, but I know it's because I am just 2 days out of surgery. Gas and burping is the name of the game now....lol I am struggling to get down the required fluids.....hopefully, it will get better day by day. Congrats, I know you will get those last 30 pounds off.

This is first day of fluids...so far I have had broth, jello, protein drinks, and water. I'm keep tabs on what my intake is and I gotten approx. 32 ozs total. That's all I can do right now. I know that I'm burping a lot and having some shoulder pain and chest pains....I guess that's the gas. Just wondering if I got enough fluids for my first day.

I was banded today and every time I sip on water, immediately I'm sick. Will it get better?? Hopefully tomorrow, since I will be eating a little bit more, that will make me feel better. How many onces of liquids should I have tomorrow and it is every hour??? My book isn't every clear on that.

Wow, I am excited and scared at the same time. Today I will get banded and I so many things running through my mind right now, e.g. failure, success, my new body, etc. Even though some of my family doesn't support my decision to do this, including the boyfriend, I'm doing this only for me. Embarking on this new journey won't be easy, but rewarding at the end. PEACE

Consult - preop diet and insurance question
sexyat44 replied to JinTx's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, it seems like you have to go through a lot before they would approve the surgery. I called my insurance to see what their criteria is to getting the lapband and was sent a checklist of what to do and that 's what I follow, including some addl things the dr wanted me to be. I wish the best of luck on this journey, your day will come like mine, which is today. -
I am really getting excited as the surgery date near.....a little bit nervous. I have heard good and bad things about the surgery. I have to remember that this a tool and it's up to me whether or not this will successful. Through God everything is possible.

Hi, I am so excited about being banded. My surgery date is 4/1/2011. I bought all my vitamins and liquids foods for the first week. My boyfriend does not support this, but this is for me. I don't think my mother fully supports me as well, but this is my life. I have chronic back pain, and GERD that I have to deal with on a daily basis. None of them feels the pain like I do. Will keep you posted on my journey.

I need to get serious
sexyat44 replied to hopetolose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have to go on a two diet...I was told some ppl do because it has to do something about a fatty liver. So you have to diet to reduce it because it would difficult for the doctor to insert the band around your stomach. I have changed some of my bad habits, such as eating fast, and cutting back on sweets. -
Any April bandsters out their???

Waiting for the phone to start ringing
sexyat44 replied to fly4kidsrt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to make yourself happy. They do not know that it is frustrating to lose and gain the same weight over, and over again. It may sound shelfish, it's about me getting better and healthy for me. As for me, my boyfriend wasn't supportive, but this is not for him. He doesn't have to deal constant back pain, GERD, and knee pain. Social life has come to a halt. I let him say what he want to say, but goes in one ear and out the other. Good luck on your journey and keep your head up to the sky. -
I got insurance approval yesterday!
sexyat44 replied to KristiAnn25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance requires me to take a tobacco test 90 prior to surgery and right before surgery. I don't know if all insurance make you do all that. Anyway, once I was approved, I had to take a 3 hour class to explain how the surgery work, Vitamins to take, and food phases. The doctor went over my health records and prior surgeries. And then, I got the BIG DATE....4/1/2011 -
Pre-op wasn't so bad.....I had an EKG and the levels of Vitamins in my body was checked. It was easy....I had to stop taking Advil one week prior to surgery and that was it.
