I am gladly taking all advice and help. I am stuck at 193 for 8 days now and furious, what am I doing wrong? Water intake 60-80 ozs daily not including shakes, protein around 50-60 daily and 600-700 cals daily. What gives? total starvation? For some reason my posts don't generate a lot of reply's, but I hope some of the advanced members will chime in. I really need some support, Thanks Kelly

Question on eating then waiting to drink
kaj7 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having a hard time getting all of my water in, and of course afraid to stretch out my stomach. I am 4 weeks out today and lost 27 lbs, but this week lost only 2 lbs. Kinda bummed, thought for sure I'd lose at least 4. My Dr.said not to drink 15 min prior to eating, and to wait 45 min after (eating). My Question is, when I'm doing just a liquid day of protein shakes and soup do I still have to wait the time period? Also, food isn't going down so well. Any thoughts? -
NICE!!! Mine was paid for 100% too, Anthem Blue Cross/CA. Just received my bill or co-pay from Good Samaritan San Jose. Out of pocket was $168, and they charged $17,000! Thank God for insurance. Best of luck with your journey.

a tiny babystep...but still lots of roadblocks
kaj7 replied to SophieJaneB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Sophie, Wow do I feel your pain...almost same story with me. It took 6-8 mos for my husband to support me, he doesn't have weight issue either. We have 2 1/2 yr old twins and only a MIL to who will play with the kids once in a while (like once a month). I decided to tell no one, my family back East has little sympathy and can be judgmental. Fortunatly my VSG was covered under my ins, but I had to be over 40 BMI, I was 38BMI at first and rejected. So I gained 15 pounds and made it happen (much easier for dh to accept then for sure). Just wondering if you tried that route? When it came time for my surgery, my dh took the week off from work to care for the babies. He really didn't need to, I recovered in about 4 days. Long weekend would have been enough. Although everyone recovers at a different rate. I am a SAH Mom so I'm not really around anybody when it comes time to eat, except dh. As far as telling co-workers, I might say that I had my gallbladder removed and am on a strict diet (though its no ones business really). I had road blocks too, but now I'm 4 weeks out today with 28 lbs lost. Some days easy, some not. But all in all I'm glad I did it, I'm already feeling the benefits. Hope this helps and keep me posted on your journey. Kelly -
Just made the Casserole tonight...YUMMM! I added 1 chopped up cooked slice of bacon to appease the masses, they liked it too.

I swear by "Better than Bouillon", it costs a little more, but it tastes so much better and has less sodium.

12 days post op, help with hunger issues!
kaj7 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, First time posting here. I'm 12 days out since the operation and am feeling really hungry these days. I'm sure it doesn't help that I am cooking for my 2 yr old twins and husband daily. At first it didn't bother me, I said "oh I can do this, not so bad". Now, all of the sudden it is driving me crazy! Yes, I was one of those Mommies who would clean up the babies plates when they didn't finish. A few bites of hot dog or chicken nuggets, fruit, tortilla you name it. If it wasn't enough to wrap up I'd finish it off. Also, the shakes and soups are not filling me up, and am really looking forward to the puree stage! Is it just me or have others had this issue?
