About Me
I have been overweight since my mid 30's. At first losing weight was easy; I lost 50 lbs. on Atkins and 60 on Weight Watchers. I was more active back then, playing tennis, hiking, dancing. Then when I was between 45 and 50 it all started to change. Over the years I tried and failed numerous times with a variety of diets, and each time when I regain the 10 or 15 or 20 pounds I had lost, more came with it!.
Now I am 115 over a healthy weight for me. My blood presure is elevated, my back and knees hurt, and if I tried to dance, play tennis or hike, I'd have a really tough time. Heck, realistically, I couldn't do it.
I have just started my Lap-Band journey. I have been to the informative meeting and have a preliminary appountment with the surgeon. i am very excited to be doing this, as I have been wanting to for the past two years. My wonderful, slim husband has signed on to be my main support, diet cop, and exercise nag. My daughter and friends are behind me, too.
I know I can do this and am excited to get started.
