Maybe it's because I feel so down and discouraged. I have posted about this before, but I will be 4 wks out tomorrow and I lost 20 pounds the first 2 weeks and since then...NOTHIING..NADA.. it's really starting to depress me. I've been noticing I'm grazing a bit...and I do feel actual hunger after my 3 main little meals. And it is making me nuts. I keep thinking, is my body not EVER going to go below 240?? HOw depressing that I've had 80 percent of my stomach removed and still am not losing. I just want to cry. I know I need to stop this snacking/grazing before it becomes a bad habit. Any advice?

Thank you everyone for the great advice. I am just nervous too because I go into my surgeon and Nut on Thurs for my 1 mo checkup and I'm so scared they are gonna be disappointed in my weight loss. I feel bad enough already! -

Thanks, glad to know I'm not alone..althought I actually GAINED a pound today! AF is supposed to be coming soon so I'm hoping that's why. Yeah, my calories have only been between 300-500 I have a hard time getting any more than that. Perhaps I'm not getting enough fluids either though. -

I can't really do the 5 day pouch test yet...except for the liquid part. Which I think I am going to do (go on liquids for a couple days). I am still only on purees anyway. Not supposed to move to soft foods until this Thursday. -
Stall...for how long?
fullhandsfullheart replied to fullhandsfullheart's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
*sigh* still nothing... I'm starting to wonder if my scale is broken. LOL Thanks for the replies, it's good to know it's normal..I just didn't know it would happen this soon after surger. -
6 weeks, doc dissapointed in weight loss
fullhandsfullheart replied to lolli's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
if it makes you feel any better... I lost 10 the first week, 10 the 2nd week and a half, and since then have been stalled for over a week. I am getting very frustrated too! -
Just wondering.... my surgeon/nut's guidelines are for us to only eat 3 times a day...all the rest should be non-calorie containing beverages. And that we should of course eat super slow, tiny bites, ONLY 1/4 cup, taking at least 20 min but no more than 30. Well I've been going way over my 30 min because sometimes it takes me an hour to eat my little 1/4 cup food, depending what it is... is this bad? I don't want to be "grazing" but I am only getting 300-400 calories a day and I feel like if I don't get my whole 1/4 cups in, well I won't be getting anything..then I feel week, tired, and I feel like I'm starving myself.. what do you think?

how many times a day do you eat?

Thank you for all the great posts! And does everyone wait 1 hour before drinking after eating? I have been sticking to this rule for sure. -
Breastfeeding With Sleeve
fullhandsfullheart replied to ATLGirl's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Oh my goodness..please don't wean before surgery just because of this. I am still breastfeeding my 20 month old. Yes, My milk supply did drop a little but our bodies and our breasts are wonderful things.. the baby will nurse more and up your supply. And if she is already eating solids, yes she may start to eat more on her own. But there is no reason to wean. If you have any problems or questions PM me, I am currently nursing and have nursed my other 3 kids well into toddlerhood... I have lotsa info! :-) -
2 wks post op - plateau?
fullhandsfullheart replied to ChattyCathy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same way. I have been stuck for the past 4 days...It's like the scale won't let me go below 240! It's very frustrating. I will be 3 weeks out on Monday. -
Yes Yes..I'm a scale addict. I weigh everyday, first thing in the morning, nude. It has steadily went down every day since surgery. So why today did it go UP a half pound?? I was soooo sure I was gonna hit that 20 pound mark this morning!!! Grrrrrr.... I know it can fluctuate, but seriously..i'm only getting 300 calories a day, there is no reason for it to go up at all. LOL

So frustrated! Please help!

I am like you! I hate these puree food suggestions... I've made up a couple though on my own that are tasty to me... 1 or 2 laughing cow cheese triangles (very soft and melt in your mouth- 2 of them don't even equal a 1/4 cup. I kinda dip my little bites in salsa juice and it's yummy. Refried Beans.. I put them in the blender with a little taco seasoning and salsa to make it more liquidy and not as sticky. YUM... although it made me wish for tortilla chips! LOL fresh made pinto beans (made in the crock pot over 2 days very soft..made with ham in there so they had that flavor) other than that, I have added the powedered milk to my Carnation and my other Protein drinks. I added a tbsp of Peanut Butter and blended well to a choc prot shake, made it more flavorful and more prot. I just ordered "Pure" Protein Powder brand off of bariatriceating.com because everyone on there raves about it, it is supposedly flavorless and you can add it to ANY food or drink and get in your protein. Hope these suggestions help! I'm still on Puree too. :-) -
So I'm on puree/mushy.... Is it ok that it kinda hurts after I swallow? Lets say... refried beans that I blended with salsa to make them softer. Taking small bites, but then a min or so after I swallow there is a mild pain... so I wait awhile before I take the next bite. This goes on the whole time. Takes me almost an hour to eat 1/4 cup... sometimes I even can't finish that. It does that with those super soft Laughing Cow cheese wedge too. 2 wedges doesn't even equal 1/4 cup...takes me an hour to eat them.... little pains as it's moving down the sleeve or something. I have not experienced these pains with ricotta cheese... Is this weird?

did they give you suppositories for nausea? That always worked better for me... yes, I agree with the warm fluids in the morning suggestion..and just tiny sip sip sips. -
quick weight loss...
fullhandsfullheart replied to faithstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I'm not the only one too! I already have anxiety about getting below 215..that's the lowest I got with lapband. And then the lowest I got before that on weightwatchers (I wasn't nearly as heavy to begin with) was 199. So it makes me feel strange..weird even..nervous...to think I will be lower than that by summer. But it's exciting too! This might be the first summer I'm not feeling humiliated every time I take my kids swimming... now that will be fun! -
Mushy food question
fullhandsfullheart replied to fullhandsfullheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So what would you consider the soft refried beans I made (blended with salsa liquid)... or the laughing cow cheese (mashed up with a little salsa liquid)...? I considered those puree consistency..but yet they still hurt a little shifting around in my tummy. It's so weird how all docs have different diets. I wish there was just a general diet for all Sleeves worldwide. LOL -
Mushy food question
fullhandsfullheart replied to fullhandsfullheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Deli meat is considered mushy? I guess that mushy would be what our doc calls "soft diet"? Right now I was trying purees..which is supposed to be consistency of like applesauce, yogurt, pudding, etc... -
crossposting.. VITAMINS/PROTEIN REGIMINE?
fullhandsfullheart posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm cross posting this because no one is answering me over on the Nutrition board. LOL Just wondering what types of Vitamins everyone is taking. My surgeons office highly promotes Bariatric Advantage but their chewables are YUCK. I know I won't stick with them. They have these capsules, I am considering ordering them, but hten I worry what if they are too big to swallow? and it is 6 a day of those... I want something I can stick with.. They also have these crystals that you can dissolve in your drinks, which sounds great, but dang they are expensive! Calcium I think I'm gonna have to go with the fruit chewables..had some samples...they taste like starburst from bariatric advantage, but I see bariatriceating.com has some good lookin ones too. What about Iron? And I am freakin out about getting Protein in. I'm only almost 2 wks out..so I only am getting in around 27 per day. I don't wanna lose my hair! Suggestions? Thanks! -
