  1. OMG THANK YOU FOR ALL, I had my first fill yesterday 5/12/2011 and got dizzy, sweaty, thought i was i was going to pass out. I got the fill then had to go have a upper gi wo swallow to make sure it was ok, i did not makemit to the upper GI, My BP dropped and i was dizzy and had to sit down, hot cold sweats, My best freind who is a nurse said that it was my vegas nerve. She said it happens when our band expands, everybodys nerve is in a different place and maybe ours is near our band. My nurse told me i was allergic to the lidocaine ( numbing stuff) that they use first . It was my first fill so i had no idea. But my best friend assured me that it was NOT a allergic reaction. I was so upset till i found this thread, i was thinking if this is what fills will be like , i do not want one, and that ,my band a waste. But hopefully it may or may not happen again. If anybody else has had this , can u email me, id like to discuss further with fellow bandsters =). ALso my Nures said she has never seen this b4? how can that be??????

    it was weird, im pretty sure it must have been a allergic reaction, my nurse said she has seen that once before, Thanks for responding everybody !!
  4. Hello. yes shakes a day and then one meal 3 oz of protien 6 oz veggies, I know its so different seeing all the other posts. I have SF popcicles and a snack. Its so much worse when im PMSing,I always want more food. I go to the DR on the 12th for hopefully a fill. My surgeon gives us a xray first to see the band in action . But from the way i feel hungry i def feel like i may need one. I use myfitnesspal and jot down the times i eat/drink to i clearly see that 4 hours is a loooong time lol
  5. i am feeling the samw way now, have not had a fill yet, at first i was not hungry for weeks and weeks after band, now im almost 7 weekes and im hungry and hungry, i have a shake for bf and hours later im hungry, i wait till about 4-5 hours later fro lunch shake. Dinner is measured out sometimes and i eat good, no carbs most of the time, if i have carbs its just yorgart or cheese. No sugar or bad stuff, but def eating more at dinner then i was right after surgery. I cant wait for a fill !!! i liked it when i was not hungry lol. But its a journey so we must continue to storm through it ! i cant wait for a fill, I make smart choices and exercise but the temptation that i know i cat eat more, or looking for more food is the hardest part.

    you will need to be driven home, you are knocked out with a strong drug, you will be sleepy so u will not be able to drive. I had the drug that Michael Jackson od'd on, its really relaxing lol After mine I just had a little sore throat after i woke up, was drowsey the way home. Came home and slept for a bit then was fine. Its not that much of a big deal, its pretty easy. You should be fine eating

  8. I add salsa to my chicken salad, mmmm and to my tuna i actully add a hard boiled egg. I do low carb so i do not eat thme with anything, but the egg in the tuna is really good, it tastes like tuna noode casserole lol Happy Easter all

On my Quest for more protien without always being chicken, i foud this, its really good and soft Spicy Orange Ginger Tilapia Serves 3-4 1lb tilapia fillets 1 small clementine orange (16g carbs/7g fiber) 1/2tsp fresh grated ginger(less than 1g carbs) 1/4tsp chili garlic paste(less than 1g carbs) approx 10 cilantro leaves(less than 1g carbs) 2T Water pinch each salt and pepper Pat fillets dry and place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with olive oil cooking spray. Preheat oven (I used a toaster oven) to 400f. Finely zest the orange, then peel and separate 1/2 into segments. Cut 1/2 the segments into 3 pieces each and set aside. In a small food processor place remaining orange, water, ginger, garlic chili paste, cilantro and salt and pepper. Process until smooth. Divide the mixture evenly over the fillets, then divide the cut up segments on top. Spray lightly with olive oil spray. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes until fish is cooked through. For 4 servings this is just over 4g carbs(not net)and 110 calories per serving. *If you prefer this to be sweet and hot, add 1/2pk splenda when blending.

    coffee with cream 1 equal and benefiber powder Breakfast 1 advantage low carb choco fudge protien shake lunch muscle milk light 100 calorie vanilla protien shake dinner 3 oz canned chicken with 1tbsp lite mayo and 1 tbsp salsa 3 oz steamfreash garlic califlower mashed up like potatoes snack sugar free popcicle or applesauce Water water water and benefiber cherry pomergrante in it

    Im so glad you asked !!! :D I had the same question, i also swallow and Was scared for the first few times, lol its so much worse to not swallow, what are people thinking, holding it in you mouth till u get to a sink? ewwww i thnk not swallowing is gross !! But Im glad u asked, i knew it was protien,and i really dont think there is anything bad in it I was about to go on a gay lapband site to ask !!

I think it sometimes isthe food we eat, i just made sinner, i had 3 oz of broiled fish and 3 oz of mashed up califlower, my bf had the same but much more lol, we are both soooo full !! maybe u are eating to fast, try to take a little tiny bite, chew it at least times, and put your fork down while u are chewing, that really helped me. its kinda boring sometimes hahah. When my bf eats, its crazy to see , he eats so much more then me and so fast. my lil plate take me a half hour and he eats his whole filled plate in 10 mins. But im sure i used to do it too. we will have our ups and downs im sure, but we will all get throught this and are on our way to a great journey !! mmm ravioli sounds good ! :lol:
  14. Hi Laura ! I was banded on 3-23-11 and am just about a month out. I had a week of Clear Liquids only ( Water , crystal light and SF ice pops) then moved to 2 weeks of 2 protien shakes an day and a ice pop or 2, I just got moved to phae 2, which for my DR is 3 oz of protien and 3 oz of mushy veggies cooked really good. My group is really ' NO carb" . SO no mashed tatoes or Beans, which im kinda of jealous about !! i see so many others eating yummy things, but i follow DR's orders =) I did eat a spoonfull here and there and no big deal. I also had some roasted red pepper soup and nothing happend. But I went to my Dr apt and told them and they just advised to stay low or no carb so no biggie. Right now i just cut my chicken up really small like for a toddler and i am ok so far, my veggies is just steam so good they are really soft and cut up again in to tiny pieces. Also i can have a snack of a piece of fruit or a lf greek yogurt. I still have 1-2 ice pops. I drink a ton of water and Benefiber and i love it is great ! I also have a cup of coffee with cream in it and 1 equal almost every am. Im steady and sow with weight loss so far. My bad was filled to 5cc at surgery . after this phase, i go to normal food then to see if i need a fill !! Im waiting for that to see what a fill is like. Right now, honestly iam NOT hungry at all, i could go all day with out eating. I do get real thirsty if i do ot drink i noticed os i just always keep a water in my hand.   18. Hello to all, and i have to sy i just love all of you !! This is really such a helpfull tool in our weight loss journey =) So i just went to my Dr apt and I get to advance to my next pahse !! yippy yippy !! I can have 6 oz. of mushy food now !!! 3 of them being protien and 3 of soft mushy veggies !!! My Dr's really keep us on a no carb plan, so i get a little jealous when i see people eating yummy things lol im so excited to eat some canned chicken, thats my fav =) And the best part is a piece of soft fruit for a snack!! this is for 2 weeks then i go to phase 3 , which will add a little more, then i will get to see if i need a fill or not, I am at 5cc now.     yippy !! i am 3 weeks post op and go to my Dr tomorrow ( Fri) and will start my next phase of eating !!! allthough i cheated a bit with Soup and mashed taters lol Keep us updated with your fav mushies !!!
  20. As of today i am 3 weeks pst op. I had 5 days of Water and crystal light only. then 2 weeks of protien shakes only 3 a day.and popsicles. Yesterday i ate some bean soup, and today i ate some mashed potatoes. only like a 1\4 of a cup. I called my surgeon and asked if i could eat something, they said sugar free applesauce or sf Jello. My apt is fri to go to the mushies. They are a big no carb way of eating so im sure my mashed potatoes will not be in my next phase lol. But noting bad happend, i feel fine, I have not thrown up yet. so far i have lost 25lbs , i was not hungry, just more of a mental want for something else to eat. My band is at 5cc

    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

    Hello All ! I was Banded on 3-23-11 ! SO far so good, I am 4 lbs away from loosing 20. I started at 267 and am almost to 247 @@ !! I was on Water and crystal light for the first 5 days, and now 64 oz of water, crystal light, beneifiber and 3 Protien shakes a day for 2 weeks. April 15th is my next dr apt and i cant wait !!! I drink muscle milk light pre made drink boxes, and Pure Protien shakes, So far so good, I really am not too hungry, accept i am a little pmsing so i have thoose hormonal hunger cravings, but i know it will pass soon. Im not to hungry and feel very full after a shake. I take about 20-30 min to drinks one and sip on water through put the day. I have thought about maybe eating a yogurt but i am stinking 100% to my Dr's orders. I was filled with 5cc at time of surgery so im not too sure about restriction yet ,a Its great to meet all of you !! So much helpfull info here !! Good Luck to all !!!

    Hi Donna ! i was surprised also about the fil, but i am drinking my water and crystal light now like i did befroe surgery ! Allthough today i am HUNGRY !!! Same to you !!
