my advice would be to get another xray, u should not be heaving, what does your Dr think?

oh your welcome ! i could not wait to get on here at tell everybody !!! i also found out that my Dr does not stick the stomach over to the espohogus, some drs will take a piece of the stomach and pull it over the band and stick it to the bottom of your esopogus, I aksed mr dr and they do not do that, this whole time i thought they all did that, but nope !! the ipone app is great, i keep looking at my little hole lol , and man i was at 7.5cc no wonder why i got stuck

wed 2pm ate a vegan meatball ( with my hand, NOT A SMALL FORK ) so took a big bite (7.5 cc in band) got stuck, DUHHHHHH , pain pain pain throw up throw up, rushed to my surgeon's office at 10pm for a unfill and xray, BAND SLIPPED =( Rushed to the hospital for emergency repair surgery...... NOW WHAT I LEARNED TODAY AT THE DR OFFICE!!!! so after i had my staples out, and got my fill 4.00 cc now, and talked to my surgeon for a few minutes about everything i was on my way out, i stopped at the xray tech to ask him if there was any chance of him finding my xray pics from last wed. he said sure!! Lets look, so he found me and i saw my slipped band, OMG it was crazy, i had 2 stomach's !!! and also the band was way down, and u could see that it was at the wrong angle. It was amazing to see that!!! Also he had some pics of people that were "STUCK" and had foos stuck in their pouch, it was such a learning to see such things!! He showed me my normal band when i swallowed the drink stuff and cleary saw the little tiny trail of liquid that is supposed to go through my band, and then when my band had slipped how the path of liquid was across the top of my stomach cuz the band had slipped. AMAZING !!! We started to talk about the band and the pouch, he explained it as a funnel, and just as a funnel can get clogged up , so does our band if we eat to fast, ot dont chew enough. Also he pointed out that when the band is placed you have about the size of your THUMB of a opening for the food to to pass through and go to your stomach, and slowly with fills the opening is about the SIZE OF YOUR PINKY !!! If you thing about it, we learn all about the outside and never the inside, If i had a idea the the size of my pouch hole to go to my tummy was the width if a half of a popcicle stick i never would have taken that bite, It AMAZED me to think about the size of the opening of the hole that our foods passes through, the hole in our funnel per say. I am in complete awwwww knowing this now, i never thought if the size of the actual passthrough of the food, DID ANYBODY ELSE? I mean when we get fills who is thinking about how much smaller the hole is getting and what size it actually is ????? when its in the perspective to the size of your pinky, im sure we would eat a little different, i know i am. I always chew chew chew, but from now on I am chew, stop rest, chew stop rest, I NEVER EVER want to be stuck again, that was the worst pain ever, but im glad of what came out of it !!! There is a APP on my ipone called MY BAND FILL, they reccommend it to me, you can pot in your fill amount and it shows u how big your hole is ! ITS GREAT !!!!! Melissa

Glad to hear you are ok !!! next time, if ther is one, lets hope not =) but i would def call my Dr or the after hours number, i had my first stuck, and threw up one to many times and slipped my band, and had to have emergency surgery to repair it, throwing up is very dangerous, u may need a slight unfill, after fills u cant always eat things u could b4. Glad u are ok !!! keep up the good work and chew chew chew chew, try to remember ur stoma is like a funnel, and the hole at the end of your funnel is the size of your pinky, thats the room u have for things to pass through~ Melissa

it hit me like a ton of bricks, how the size of out little passthrough hole, or the Band itself, the siz of the inside !!!!! Glad you took something from it !!! And ur right the more we know about our bodies the better !!

i drink a cup everyday 2 equal and CREAM, every day ! I sometimes have 2 cups a day. Mr Dr says that the more coffe u drink u have to make sure have have even more Water to flush it out, coffee is a diuretic so it can make u thirsty. I just had a fix of my lapband and had coffee today, I did wait 5 days though from surgery. Every Dr is different and it is best to go by what your Dr says, but i do have 1-2 cups everyday and i use Cream !

yes, thats almost how i think it felt also, or a cork screw being screwed in to your chest, i had my first stuck, then i threw up over and over, and slipped my band =( had surgery and now am back on my path ! Ask any question anywhere u want ! We are all at different places in our journey and all have good/indifferent advice !!! =)

Thank you !! I have a apt tomorrow ( tues) with Dr Weiss, i again will tell him how upset i am, AND Truly still are. I am starting all over again, i just went through all of this in March and wham, back to a newbie again =( I do remember right before the repair surgey Dr Weiss confirming the name of the NP i spoke to, so maybe he is on it all ready, i hope so. !! @ Christina theese fourms are so nerve wrecking sometimes, I def recconmed to go slow, sometimes u see thatu can eat a little faster or a little more but overall everytime must be like u just came out of surgery. My last fill was on a thursday, the week b4 i got stuck and i ate the same thing b4 that got me stuck so who knows. just worry about u and what ur Dr tells you !

I was banded on 3/3/11, had 3 fills and never had a problem, no stucks, throwing up nothing, untill yesterday =( i ate bites of a Farafella vegan meatball, and wham ! stuck city, it hurt so bad, i tried to walk it off but it got worse and worse. This was my first stuck episode so I did not know what to expect, i called my NP at 3:00, she said its either going to come up or work its way down, and yes it would hurt. I told her i was in pain, Well after about a hour it decided to come up, i threw up and threw up and threw up, to the point where i was just dry heaving and nothing was comming up. I was in the worst pain in my life, i could not talk, walk, get comfy, walk, nothing it was so bad. So i called back hours later and said that i cant stop throwing up, and it hurt so bad, i also asked how long to expect this and if I could take anything for the pain, she said just sip on Water and it just has to work its course. Well now it was 6:00 and i really thought i was dying. I was concerned about slippage from all the throwing up and i was STILL in so much pain, and i still could not stop dry heaving. i tried to sleep and i passed out from crying and the pain for a bit, I woke up to more throwing up at 9pm, i could not take it anymore so i called the emergency service and got a call back from my surgeon. Told hime the whole story and about calling the office twice and telling them about all the throwing up and they did nothing, he had me come in right away to the office. we got there he unfilled my 7.5cc and i still was in pain, gave me a xray and of course i threw up the stuff i had to drink. and survey said : BAND SLIPPED ! !!!! Right to the hospital for emergency surgery, i was really upset , my dr also said they he may have to take out my bad, i burst into tears, i have done so good, and to think it would have to to have it taken out =( when i say the worst pain in my life, no BS, i got to the point at the hospital b4 i got my pain meds b4 surgery that i wanted it out , so crazy i was crying that i may loose my band but it hurt so bad i wanted it out lol After surgery I could not wait to find out what happend, and My band was repaired, same band and just fixed me right up. It was like nothing ever happened, pain was gone and i did not feel like i just had surgery. now i am home, sipping my 1oz of crystal light and very upset at my Dr office !! I feel that on my second call i should have brought in, taken out all my Fluid, and maybe this all could have been resolved with out my trip to the hospital ! any opinions???? Melissa
