    Sex? Wine?

My doc had me wait to "get busy" until about 2-3 weeks post op. I waited to drink until I was back on solids for a couple weeks, so about 6-8 weeks post op.

Now THIS is what I signed up for!!

I can't wait 'til I get there! How many fills did it take for you to reach this level of restriction?
  4. I just had my fourth fill August 1st and I've had my band since March 14th. This last fill did absolutely nothing and I feel like I'm hungry constantly. I'm also eating more than I have since being banded. Has anyone else had this problem? When will I finally stop being hungry in between meals?

    4 fills since March...

The PA never tells me how much fluid she puts in, but she always draws the fluid out to confirm how much is there and to make sure there's no leak. I called the office a few days ago because I was starting to freak out...I thought I might have a pouch dilation or something. They didn't seem to think so but they said they would do a video esophagram just in case. Hopefully everything is ok.

    NSV!

Yesterday we had dinner at my fiance's parents' house as we usually do. My future father in law is a nice guy but kind of quiet (like me), so our conversations are kind of limited. When we walked in, almost immediately he said "You've lost a lot of weight! You're doing good." I was so surprised I almost didn't know what to say! It was even nicer to hear because my weight loss has been slow lately and I've been feeling kind of down about it. So happy!
  7. I found this recipe on the Lapband.com website. I'm eating it now and it's pretty tasty! Mexican Breakfast Casserole Serves 12 16 eggs, well beaten with 1/4 cup Water 1 bag Morningstar Farms frozen sausage crumbles (I couldn't find these so I chopped up a box and a half of the patties after defrosting them) 1 medium zucchini, peeled and sliced into half-circles 2 cups salsa 2 cups 2% reduced fat cheddar cheese 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees 2. Spray a 9x13 baking pan with non stick cooking spray. Spread the frozen sausage crumbles over the bottom of the pan. Top with zucchini slices. Pour beaten eggs on top. 3. Bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven and spread salsa over casserole. Top with cheese and return to oven for 5-7 more minutes until cheese is melted. 4. Cut into squares and serve hot! Nutrition facts: Serving size: 1/12 of recipes Calories: 190 Fat: 9g Carbs: 7g Protein: 18g
  8. I still have some double chin action going, but the first comments I got when I starting losing weight were that my face looked thinner. Can't wait until mine is gone for good!
  9. Ok ok, I know I shouldn't be weighing myself more than once a week but I stepped on the scale this morning and I gained 3 pounds since Tuesday! How is this possible? There is no way I have eaten 10,000 extra calories in four days! I am freaking out slightly here...am I just overreacting?

    How is this possible?

Thanks guys! I feel a lot better. I think I'll have my fiance hide my scale and take it out for me once a week
  11. Jenn1214

    How is this possible?

I know, it's such a bad habit to weigh every day, and I usually don't. It just just on a whim that I decided to weigh today and seeing a 3 pound gain freaked me out! Lesson learned.

    SEX and hormones

I wish! My libido went south after banding :-(
  13. I used to have horrific back pain before banding that has completely resolved after losing almost 50 pounds. My GYN also said my PCOS has improved greatly since losing weight. The best part for me: no more acid reflux! I was eating Tums like candy before surgery.
  14. People just love to gossip...it sucks when you're the focus of it but eventually they get bored and move on to a new victim. Don't let it get to you too much. It will blow over before you know it. You might want to have a chat with your manager about sharing your personal information, though.
  15. ...when I work my butt off to lose weight by counting calories and exercising like a fiend I don't lose anything, but when I stop obsessing and just go with the flow it comes off? Stupid fat, you're not the boss of me!
  16. Jenn1214

    Why is it...

Very true...I still have to learn how to balance eating and exercise correctly. Definitely a lesson learned.

Carbonated drinks after Lap Band Surgery

Not worth it for me. I accidentally had something that was carbonated at a party last month a few days after an adjustment and I was in so much agony I had to leave. Never again!

Do you have a problem with Chicken???

How do you make the chicken? The drier it is the harder time you will have with it...try making it in a slow cooker or braising it so it stays super moist.

    Vitamins

I like Vita Band too. They don't taste the best but they do the job!

Oh no! Plateau! (dun dun dun)

Well, I should have known I would have jinxed myself with all these positive entries. I hit a plateau a few weeks ago and I'm ready to scream! I started exercising more regularly and I thought that maybe I was suffering from some water retention. Then I went on vacation for a few days. My band was really tight on vacation and I was eating less so I figured "Yeah! I bet I lost some weight!" I came back home, hopped on the scale, and NOTHING. I wanted to throw it out the window. Not to mention it's that special TOM and I always retain water anyway, so that never helps. Hopefully my surgeon will give me an adjustment today and I'll start seeing some results soon. I wouldn't feel so pissed off if my clothes fit different at least, or if I felt different. I just feel like a fat bloated mess right now and it's all I can do to keep from giving up. I'm just hoping this is a little bump in the road and not an indicator of things to come.

    eat anything.

When did you get the fill? My PA always tells me that fills sometimes take 1-2 weeks to fully kick in. Wait a couple weeks and if you still feel no difference, you may need another adjustment.
  22. Jenn1214

JUST HAD 3 RD FILL .

Sometimes it takes a few fills before you really feel something. As you lose weight you will need to keep getting fills because the fat pad around your stomach will shrink and the band will loosen up. Everyone is different; some people need 5 or 6 fills, some need more, some never need any. I myself just had my 4th fill on Monday. Don't be discouraged, you'll find the green zone eventually!

I might be imagining things, but...

I have taken Bariatric Advantage vitamins pretty much from day 1 and I have never had problems with my nails or thinning hair. Also make sure to get your recommended amount of protein each day.
