    My life changing year

    Southern CA Sleevers

I haven't been sleeved yet, but I would like to attend. I actually only live about 5 miles from there. Thanks.
  4. As I read different posts on telling people about upcoming sleeve surgeries, it brings to mind my own situation. I have a friend of 13 years of on and off dating. We are presently dating again. I have dropped hints about having the sleeve down but he constantly changes the subject. When I started the process and had my ultrasound the technician found a mass on my liver which will be coming out at the same time I have my sleeve done. My friend knows I will be having surgery to remove the liver mass but he is just not listening when I talk about having the sleeve. Do I continue to let him think I am only having the mass removed or do I make him understand the process of the sleeve? When it come down to it, I am doing this for me and only me. But, I feel I need him to realize what I am doing. Any suggestions would be helpful.

  9. I am so excited....I received my surgery date this afternoon. My date isn't until April 18th, but I am just glad I have a light at the end of my tunnel. I know the time will go by fast as the time between now and then is so busy at school (I teach first grade!). I will be able to get through all the necessary things at school before I take time off.

  12. I am so tired of waiting. I had my 3 appointments over a month ago. I called this morning to check on my paper work.. I was informed that it is sitting on the surgeon's desk for final approval. When I asked for a possible time frame for surgery, the office manager informed me that I'm now looking at beginning of April. It is so frustrating as I was told end of February. I guess I just need to keep my chin up and hope that I have a date within a week of so.

Best wishes to the both you!
  15. Sorry to hear about your complications. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Over a year ago, I experienced several blood clots after a simple knee arthroscopic surgery. I was also admitted to the hospital. They put me on oral as well as injection blood thinners. I have been off all blood thinners. My surgery is scheduled for March so I am concerned about blood clots again, but my surgeon is going to put me on medication prior to surgery as a precaution. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Please keep us posted during your recovery.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

I would be a week behind everyone but I would like to be held accountable for getting my exercise in. I'm pre-surgery but I need to get into a routine now. Congrats to all that fulfilled their commitment with week.

An NSV worthy of a post.

Congrats on your accomplishment. I am looking forward to doing that myself. I have also struggled with knee pain. I have had 7 knee surgeries with the later being a year ago. I can't wait for the say when I can move around with less pain in my knees.

    Recovery

I am a first grade teacher that is going to be sleeved in January. I need to have my lesson plans prepared for my substitute teacher. How long is the average recovery? Typically, how long does a doctor keep you off of work?
