Hey! I had my surgery in Richardson with Dr. B on November 17th. So far I'm down 25lbs from the date of surgery. I have learned to be happy with that....lol. I figured with my PCOS that I would be a slower loser but so far so good. No problems or complications, no pb'ing or stuck issues at all that I've heard so much about. I'm taking it a day at a time and a pound at a time. It's a new life style that I'm still getting use to that's why I think this support group is a great idea.

Same here and thank you. I have been looking for something like this and I too look forward to meeting everyone.

Did Anyone Binge Before Surgery?
Diva817 replied to RoniB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No you are not a poor candidate for surgery. The day before surgery my doctors actually told me to go out and eat my last big meal and of course I topped it off with ice cream. Even prior to I wanted to get as much in prior to surgery as I knew I would either never eat or have smaller portions after surgery. You are not alone and not a bad person. And yes I have been successful with my weight loss after surgery. -
To me you are doing great. I was banded a month befor you on November 17th. I had my aftercare appointment and so far I'm only down 24.6lbs. I truly understand how you feel, they say I'm getting good restriction so no fill today. So far 5cc in a 10cc AP band.

I was banded with Dr. B True Results of Richardson November 17th. I have UHC and no the Surgery Center was not in-network but as they say the accept the in-network price. Even though it stated I was responsible for paying 27,000 I was only billed for $500 which is what they told me at the time of surgery. They do work with you and your insurance company. Dr. b and the staff are great, any questions just call them up. So far so good for me, no problems, no complications, no pb'ing, rashes or anything like that. I was at the center today. I didn't get a fill as od now I'm at 5cc and down 24.6lbs since November 17th. Starting weight was 238 day of surgery. Of course for me I'd like a bit more weight loss by now but the staff say I'm on target. Of course it's all what you put in it. If you have any questions just inbox me I can even provide you with my email address. Good luck tomorrow and wish you the best.

I'm new to this so I don't have a lot of experience but no one is perfect. Dont beat yourself up about it move on to the next hour, day , minute or whatever it may be. I ate two chocolate chip cookie and one skinny cow ice cream sandwich one after the other and felt so guilty and had a pity party but I realized the "damage" was done and I had to move forward with what I've been doing for weeks now which is healthy eating choices, I still lost two pounds that week. I sure we will all that day where it's not so good, we are only human and that cookie may just jump in my mouth once a month. Wishing you the best and much success.

1st Lapband Fill.....don't Know If I Ever Want Another
Diva817 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So today was my follow up after being banded for four weeks. The good news is I've lost 11.8 lbs. YAH ME! Now on to the fill she had so much trouble finding my port that I had to go to the x-ray and come to find out my port is tilted, lucky me. Pain, pain and more pain. I'm trying not to be discouraged as everything so far has gone well and I've been blessed. But I truly hope I don't ever have to go through that again. I already had 2cc's in my band and I now have four so I'm back on liquids for two days then mushies for another two days back to solids on Sunday. I know I'm swollen after all the pushing, needle in and out so I will be taking it easy for the next week or so. -

So This Is Bandster Hell...
Diva817 replied to angbutler0712's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am four weeks out ofnsurgery and this Thursday it will be five so I am where you are not. I haven't been counting any calories. My hunger is a stomach growl and not in the head trust me so when I am I eat or drink a shake. A day for me is oatmeal, yougart, soup, fruit and for dinner lately a small salad or chicken salad and if I'm still hungry sugar free jello. I know the difference between head hunger and my stomach taking to me so I just say eat when you are hungry and make it protein as it will keep you full longer. Good luck and wishing you much success! -
12 Days Post Lap Band Surgery And Feeling No Restriction
Diva817 replied to Gizmo29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand what you are going through. I go for my first fill (maybe) but it is my after care appointment and it's where they do the fills so I'm hoping I get one because I'm hungry and as the last person said it is just will power keeping me from over eating. Not once have I gotten stuck or been sick with pbing I actually hope it doesn't ever happen as I plan on taking my time with food and learning the new way of eating. Wish you luck and much success. -
Well I'm 18 days post op surgery and I'm doing well. However what I'm going thru now is that I'm actually hungry. I've followed the doctors instructions to the "T". But I can't starve myself. Yesterday I was so hungry that I went to KFC and got some popcorn chicken. I was able to eat it just fine by chew, chew, and chewing some more. No problems at all. I'm technically able to introduce regular food not my diet this Thursday. Will a couple of days kill me? The shakes and the soup just aren't keeping me full. Any suggestion would be welcomed.

Biggest Fears Pre Lap Band Surgery?? Did They Come To True?
Diva817 replied to KhadijahRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Biggest fears were not losing any weight so far so good. This is week four for me so I'm still a newbie myself. Not being able to keep anything down, so far so good haven't had in problems with that and I pray it continues. Really bad gas pain after surgery, it wasn't so bad at all for me. Walk walk walk is what I will tell you. And one of my biggest fears still is not losing any weight and being one of those people that the band doesn't work for, I'd be heart broken. -

I'm a banderilla newbie, staring week four today but I just wanted to wish you the best. Stay positive and strong and ask your doctor lots of questions. Please keep us posted on the process and the outcome. -
Breakfast- Adkins protein shake Snack- yougart Lunch - chicken salad from chick filet with about four multigrain crackers Dinner- one egg and an egg white, a little cheese on top with salsa Water, water, water
-
Readytogoforit thank you so much for your suggestion and encouragement. I want to be honest in hopes of someone like you to help me with ideas and your experience. The funny thing is I love eggs but they told me not to try them for about six weeks. Thursday I'm able to re-introduce regular food into my diet so I will try the eggs with a little cheese and salsa as I love them all. I will keep you posted.

Thank you for the suggestion that was a one time thing and I forgot KFC does grilled chicken.
-
Thank you so much for your suggestions as that is what I was looking for. Since this post I have gone shopping for some more filling soft foods.
-
The KFC was a one time thing as I was starving, in a rush and nothing to eat at home at the time. I honestly forgot that they had grilled chicken. I have followed the doctos instructions to the "T" and I'm grateful that just a couple pieces of popcorn chicken went down just fine and I haven't had any issues since surgery. I'm looking for suggestions on what others are eating or did eat durning this stage of their recovery.

New Bandster Can't Eat Hardly Anything! What Can I Do?
Diva817 replied to melgreen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I'm not a doctor but I had my surgery on 11-17-11 and today(11-30-11) is the first day that I began mushy food like oatmeal, cream of wheat and cottage cheese and creamy Soups. For the first two weeks I only had Protein shakes and I used the Adkins that I purchased write from any super market, along with broth, yogurt, Jello and jello pudding or apple sauce. Now today I still have to drink two Protein Shakes a day but i can have mushies three times a day. So far I have been sticking to the plan and no vomiting or upset stomach so I'm happy for that. I admit I'm so sick of these shakes I don't know what to do but I also know it's important for me to heal. I do admit that since I did miss Thanksgiving I did have some green bean casserole and dressing but not much and bot were very mushy.....lol. Don't know if this may help but it just sounds like you need to take it easy and may need to stick to the liquids. Best of luck and hope you will be feeling better soon.
