Question about bougie size with Dr. Almanza
quints replied to britiajon's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was sleeved April 5th by Dr. Almaza at Jerusalem Clinic. I bought my daughter with me, my Coordinator was Nina and she owns and shares her own spacious and beautiful 5 bedroom home with her patients. Her nurse/housekeeper will take you shopping whenever you want. Jerusalem sends their van to her home to take you for your x-ray, port removal, and transportation to the San Diego airport. I had a wonderful experience and would do it again. I'll leave a link for Nina's website for anybody who has any questions about any of the surgeries that interest them. If anyone has any questions for me feel free to ask, I'll answer as best I can. http://www.bariatricinmexico.com/index.php -

WoW Good for you!! I'm so happy for you -
CONGRATULATIONS! Surgery & Vacation... You'll be on a liquid diet, maybe some smoothies, yogurt, clear soups, and lots and lots of water. Try not to strain yourself, relax but sight see, take a walk in the evening when it's not so hot or sunny out, and enjoy your vacation!

Dr. Mario Almanza, TJ, Mexico Jerusalem Clinic. Wonderful experience. Went out a day early to enjoy San Diego first. No problems. No pain. No leaks. Leave extra early to get back into the states to make your flight on time, the boarder crossing line is very long and time consuming, 3-4 hours at least. maybe cosmetic next

Can anyone recommend an OTC that is comparable to nexium
quints replied to janinemaire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Nexium is 40mg. Like Wendal said, look for the generic version of prevacid or something and check the milligrams, you might have to take two. -
You have at least another 4 - 6 weeks before pizza..

April Update from everyone
quints replied to Ready2BHealthier's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I was sleeved on April 4th by Dr. Almaza in TJ Mexico, and feeling great. Had a stall that lasted almost 3 weeks but thankfully, I'm on the downward spiral again. Best thing I ever did, wish I'd done it sooner and when I was younger! -
ouch. Good luck in your recovery and hopefully you'll be sleeved real soon. Keep up the positive attitude.

5 days post and i'm starving!
quints replied to heylinda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too was starving that soon after surgery. I bought a package of the premade mashed potatoes and kept them in the fridge. I would add a teaspoon full to some chicken broth or tomato soup. It was still very thin, but more filling. Best of luck to you. -
Wait and see how you feel tomorrow. It could of been a 24 hr bug. Good Luck and I hope all goes well for you tomorrow> fingers crossed xx xx

Persistent heartburn HELP!
quints replied to pattimomof3nj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I forgot to mention that you should suck on the tums like a pice of hard candy and not chew them. You should only need one or two at the most to get rid of the heartburn. As far as you mixing up your speach and having tingly hands - I think you really need to talk to your doctor about that. Thats not normal. Good Luck. -

On my 3rd week stall... so Disappointed :(
quints replied to Starry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just came off a stall myself. I has wls on April 4th 2011 in Mexico. I healed very well and very fast. I have been on solid foods for over 2 weeks now. Progressing from mushies to solids, The dreaded stall started. I'm guessing my body couldn't take the confusion and stopped working completely and started hoarding what fat I have. lol.. Anyway, after almost 3 weeks, I stepped on the scale this morning and lost 2 lbs. Not a major loss, but after the stall I was excited to see my scale wasn't broken after all! Stick with it and Good luck! -
How long does a stall usually last??
quints posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been at a stall for over 2 weeks now!!! WTH!!! How do I get out of this? I'm 8 weeks out and on solid foods, but I still can't eat nearly as much as before surgery, only about 1/4 so why the stall?? Anybody else had this happen? How discouraging..
