  1. I would do the couch, but use big pillows and blankets to prop yourself more upright so it doesn't hurt so much to get up. Also, get someone to tie a rope over the end of the couch so you can use that instead of your stomach muscles to help sit up to get up.

I had to do warm liquids too. Cold hurt too much. I hope you are getting better quickly. Don't be afraid to ask for help from those around you.

  2. You really need to push fluids as much as humanly possible. Get a sports bottle that you can literally hook to your body. Then you can sip anywhere. Your body is holding on to everything because of the surgery as well as the diarrhea. The more you can sip the better. If you are worried about Protein, go get Unjury chicken Soup or another clear protein and sip that. Let us know how your doing

  3. Never in a million years did I think I would lose this much weight!!! I've lost 71 pounds in about 4 months. That's just plain crazy!!! I've become a thrift store junky ( which is so bad). But I'm loving it!! I've had no trouble with food.....up until last night. I have 3 jobs, 2 kids, a hubby and a dog. Needless to say I have my hands full. I started my day at 530 am yesterday morning and didn't finish working til about 11pm. Very. Long. Day.

So I had to eat out and I've been craving a burger from my ( what used to be) favorite burger place. So I went and got the smallest one they had with extra lettuce and no bun. Man was it gross!!!! I ate a few bites ( it tasted okay I guess) then all of a sudden it felt like my mouth was foaming up!!! I've never had that happen before!! So I spit it out and I'm okay with never having one again.

  4. No to the sweating as well. I would've said watch your blood sugars had you not said they were okay. I'd contact your surgeon about that one. But definately yes to the hiccups. They are my full signal as well. My kids have even caught on. " mom!! Stop eating your tummy is yelling at you!!"

  5. Go to the grocery store. Line up 47 lbs of pork loin or some other fatty, squishy meat. Look at it. Look at it hard. Touch it. Heck, hold a few up against your body. Try to lift it if you can. THAT is what is no longer on your frame. It makes it tangible. Do it. It is awe inspiring and self esteem building. If people stare, screw 'em. Or just wink and say "DAMN I love pork!"

Heeheehee!! Too funny!!! I did the same thing but with pounds of butter!!!

  6. I just take 2 flintstone complete Vitamin chewable each day. As for juice, I don't really drink it anymore. I usually do sugar free koolaid or sugar free gaterade aftr the gym, and Water . Some people ( me included) say juice is fine just after surgery as you really aren't taking in much calories anyways, but others say if you need to change your habits, you may a well start now....... It a decision only you and/or your doctor can make. Good luck!

  7. Thanks ladies ( and guys). I actually asked him tonight if he ever thought about having vsg also. He said he had thought about it ( which is great!!) I know he's worried about when he would have surgery because he's in school right now for autobody, then trying to get a job ( which will involve heavier lifting. But at least he's thinking about it right?

  8. The other thing I would look at is your bread. Lots of breads have loads of sugar added as a preservative. I'm a baker at Cobs Bread ( only in Canada unfortunately) and we add no sugar or preseratives to most of our breads ( unless it's sweet stuff). My dad is type 2 my niece is type 1. It's the only bread we've found that does not spike them. I would call around to some bakeries in your area to see if any of them make something similar. Hope your doing okay

  9. A really great recipe book is eating for life( and the workout journal you can buy too called body for life) I do the workouts ( I'm getting SO much stronger) and the recipes in the cookbook are high Protein and lower carbs ( the tortilla pizzas are fab)

I too got really tired early out. Check your Protein and try and up it. Add unflavoured protein to yogurt or Pasta sauce. Add chicken powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury to Soups and sauces. Anything to get it up. I felt better in a couple days after that.
