Try the Unjury chicken soup flavour. It's not great on it's own, but added to chicken broth, or with some taco spice, etc. its not bad at all. I found at that stage that I felt weak too. I upped my protein and within a day or two I was so much better

Hi Cheryl! Welcome. I went to Dr. Rod just over 2 months ago. He was great! I feel like I have so much more energy to keep up with life!! I'm down about 50 lbs ( including the preop). I was really nervous too, just keep your eye on the prize because it's so worth it!! The preop is hard but it really does get better after a few days. If you have another vice like caffine ( I was addicted to coca cola), I stopped it about a month before surgery so that I wasn't quitting too much at one time. Worked great for me. You'll be much happier after all is said and done. Cheers!!

Dr rod. is awsome! I had my surgery with him just over 2 months ago. Just stay on the preop and don't waiver. Apparently it doesn't take much to waste all your efforts. I lost 21lbs on my preop!!! Crazy.

Regret and fear are my worse enemies right now

When I stall, I gain as well, as much as a 5lb gain!! It sucks the big one. I only pee a couple times a day and I find that unless I get a large amount of water at one time ( around a liter within a 1/2 hour to an hour), that is the only time it looks dilluted. Stay on your doctor ( especially the surgeon!!) until you feel satified with the answer -
Soup ideas for the weeks just after the operation?
fern replied to j0ksta2000's topic in Liquids (stage 1)
I threw chicken broth, chicken, steamed veg in a blender to purée as the base. Homemade broth has more protein if you want extra protein. Then I'd add different spices for taste. For example, red pepper and some butter chicken cooking sauce ( the one I found here in Canada has quite low carb count), or taco spices ( not too much tho- over powers quickly). Or chili ingredients. Even just the base is great on it's own. I loved my full liquid phase!!! Note: if your blender doesn't fullly purée it, make sure you strain it!! -
I had the same issue. Although I feel so dam good, I don't mind it so much. Nice to know I'm not the only one : )

You guys are right! I'll give it a try when someone can help me get into it. My hope is to get it taken in when I finally walk down the aisle, but I guess it'll depend on how much I lose by then..... Thanks everyone : ) and yes I will take and post a pic as my "progress" ( once it fits that is ; )

I don't know what to do....... You see, I've had my wedding dress for 6 years even tho I'm not married yet. My fiancé and I have been engaged for 7 years. Our wedding was all planned ( we were having a destination wedding in Hawaii) and ready to go, when my sonn-to-be mom in law got very sick and landed in hospital. We postponed the wedding. Then she passed away. Then I got pregnant and life went on. Fast forward 3 years. We started talking again about a wedding. Little did I know I was pregnant again!! Then my soon to be father in law is diagnosed with cancer and passes away less than 6 monthes later. Size wise, I can get into a 16 ( barely) and would love to see if my dress fits ( tho I know when the wedding comes I may not be able to have I tailored to fit a smaller me) the wedding has now been rescheduled for next year with my daughter, who's now almost 5, as flower girl and my son , almost 3 as ring bearer. In Hawaii again as planned before. I can't wait!!!!! So ladies and gentleman....... Should I? Or should I wait as to make SURE it'll fit me. I can't wait to see the look on my daughters face when she sees my absolutely gorgous dress ; )

Introducing Jess... just Jess!
fern replied to Just Jess's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats! And welcome to the losers side. Check with your dr. because I was able to take the chewable kids tylonel. Tastes sooo much better. It's great you are able to get all your fluids ( even if it's hard). Try warm liquids. I was able to get chicken broth down much easier than cold, making it easier to get liquids in. Keep sipping and walking. It really does get easier each day -
I did the same with chicken, chicken broth, then different spices to keep it varied. LOVED it with a touch of butter chicken sauce and roasted red peppers. Mmmmmmm

I just was at value village today and bought the cutest lululemon jacket. It's almost able to zip up and I can't wait til it does!!! Plus, paying 10 bucks instead of the 70 or 80 bucks is just perfectly fine with me!!!!

Wow! You look so great!! Congrats -
When I decided to have vsg, but didn't have the date, I started cutting thins out one a time. My big ones were slurpees and coke ( not even diet coke). I cut out slurpees first. Waited a week or two, then cut cokes down to one a day. Waited a week then cut them out totally. It sucked, but by the time surgery came, I had no caffiene withdrawls to add to my discomfort. Worked great for me.

I think it would depend on what kind of pain your having. Is it sharp shooting pain? or can you not put much weight on it? Then stop and go directly to the doctor. Is it just sore from maybe too much too soon? Maybe slow down ( or walk shorter distances) and let it feel better before really going at it again. If it lingers, head back to the doctors I'm afraid. Let us know how your doing

The 16 min mile is not that bad actually. It works out to 3.4 speed on the treadmill ( a quick walk) so you can still jog/ walk it. My aim is to finish. I know I won't be able to jog the whole thing ( tho I'll certainly aim for that).

You could also be loosing inches instead of weight. My body tends to lose, then stop and shrink, then lose again. Very weird. Have no fear, just keep doing what your doing. Your body will chatch up soon enough

I hit my stall the same day as you. It sucks, but it'll move again soon. Try using chicken broth in a blender with well cooked veggies, so they blend into nothing, and some different spices to change it up. I addEd red peppers and a touch of butter chicken spices. Or add taco spices. It'll change it up so you don't get bored and you can add chicken unjury and not taste it. Or use unflavoured. I felt the same way around that time of recovery, but it only lasted a couple days. Just try to get excited about the different variety you can make with soups. It helps. Note though- I couldn't handle too much spice ( and still can't) so start small until you find a good mix for you.

I started around 4 weeks out, but only cardio. I'm waiting til 6 weeks ( which I just got to) to start weights

Wow!! Awsome!!!!
