I thought this place was supposed to be helpful to bandsters new or old but instead when someone asks a question you get smart-assed answers. If you don't have a real genuine answer, don't post your crap. Thanks. :-)

I'm glad there are many considerate people on this site but it rubs me the wrong way when someone acts like that. But, there's always a few jerks among a group!

MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!
daisyysiad replied to MarcyLoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I was banded 3/29/11. Can't wait for my first fill! Not sure how much I've lost since then. I feel like I'm struggling with this "head hunger" stuff even though I don't feel hungry myself. -
Was wondering if anyone else here just puts food in their mouth just to chew it up but doesn't swallow it?

Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
daisyysiad replied to pennyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 3-29-11 I was very scared, it was my first surgery. I arrived at the hospital around 6 am. I checked in and a few minutes later the nurse came and got me. I changed into the gown and got on the bed. The nurse did her thing... started IV and fluids, etc etc.. asked me a bajillion questions. The CRNA came in and asked me questions and he asked if I had any questions. I said "Are you really going to intubate me?" He looked at me with the most seriousness and paused and then said "Yea, I am". The Anesthesiologist came in and had me sign consent. Next thing I knew my surgeon was coming in and that's when I knew it was real. It was about to happen. The CRNA gave me something to calm me down because I started tearing up. I remember being wheeled to the OR and saw a line of people wearing green (the surgical staff), I said "Hello people" and then I went into the room. I remember them telling me to scoot onto the table. They had given me more drugs and I spaced out but I happen to remember them putting a mask over my face and saying "this is oxygen". I remember thinking "theres nothing coming out of this" Next thing I know I'm in the PACU and I'm hurting and feeling so sick. And I was burning up! So.. to skip all this other blah... I am 4 days post-op. I have been to the emergency room once and to see my doctor twice since getting banded. I have been feeling very nauseous and the doc gave me some meds to help counter-act that. Thank God it's helping... I just want this nausea to go away!! -
New to this board..and need some advice/help?
daisyysiad posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on a 2ish week pre-op diet from Feb 11 until feb 28, lost 23 lbs. I was denied by my insurance so the following week I went back to eating my old ways. Then, I was approved (lol) so I went back to my pre-op diet. I had gained about 10 lbs back. So now, I've been on the pre-op diet from Mar 15 until today (continuing until my surgery Tuesday 3/29 !!!) and I am back down those 10 lbs but I haven't been losing anymore weight. I haven't gained anymore but I haven't lost any either. Is this common? -

My doc didn't give any specific amount of weight to lose. I just hope that whatever is happening in my body is a good thing. -

4 Protein shakes / day (they recommended Bariatric Advantage... i use a kind i got from walmart and another kind i got from a nutrition store) and i make them with Water instead of milk 1 high protein low carb meal (i've been eating either green Beans & baked chicken, or baked steak) they had a list of foods that were available that i could eat but i didnt like any of the other stuff lol. oh and i can have sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicles, cucumbers, and celery (as free foods) also, i've been trying to keep my carb count below 30g / day lol
