I have been around all kind of boards lately !! ALL WLS boards! and I found out that 99% of those who had their band to sleeve revision where having band complications (slipping etc etc) and none had it for too long like my case! without complications! and ended up having their band to sleeve revision. So I am wondering is there anyone out here who can share their reasons why they had the revision beside complications? Thank u

How many times and for how long were ur stalls?
Loooou replied to Loooou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, Well I think our bodies are really fighting for a good reason, I had my immunity going downward after excessive weightloss, and I started to get sick ALOT! virus here, eye infection, bacteria running my tongue and throat and other stuff. SO I asked multiple doctors about it and they confirmed that slow and steady is way better, WELL I didnt ask for fast pace it happened to all of us in the begining, now with stalling I HATE MYSELF! and I keep thinking the same negative things! but I rewind all what have been said by doctors and I feel better that my body is protecting me. Hold on this stall will pass, keep shaking things up, and be here!! DONT MISS IT HERE, it is an eye opener everytime! NO Matter what ur news is u dont need to write it just have the support u need by reading. I am sure ur weight will start dropping again and U WILL DEF. STALL AGAIN!! so lets always support each others, mentally and may be physcially as they are all connected:) PS: BTW I never had the 3 week stall, I had my 3 month later stall:) cheer up all xOX -

I am wondering cause I am suffering from the same now, with extra ugly signs that is preventing me from drinking and eating as the infection reached down my throat, so I am wondering how much time did it takes u to get rid of it and what kind of meds were u prescriped. cause my doctor just gave me bunch of B12 meds and immunity meds and other oral gels.

For Band to Sleeve Revision seekers
Loooou posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am still 2 weeks post op! but believe it or not those are just the worst part of having VSG .. Why I am saying that? cause everyday literally gets better! I am a band to sleeve revision, I feel guilty saying that the band didnt fail me! and I never failed it:) I lose most of my heavy weight on it! but wait a second! all doctors I have been to, to have an opinion about my band removal said the same thing " the band stopped working long ago, it was ur hard work" but believe it or not it wasnt the best work, I was crushed emotionally, deprived of life , starving, binging at other times ( we all know cheating with the band is the easiest thing) but I owe it to the band, I knew when to stop at least! The band had to go.. I knew that after I had my sleeve, till the last day on my band I was mourning its coming loss,. although everyone on this board swear that It had to go.. I still wanted there as my security blanket. Now I know what the worse it could bring.. I always felt pain .. after my exercise especially.. now this pain is gone! it was my port and I didnt know cause it hurted me down under where it was .. do I miss my hungry mornings? NO! I always had a bite of anything and that was it! and the hunger was all i can think of! Do I miss the bloating feeling?! NO! Do I miss the feeling in the late night when I am fighting my hunger? NOOOO! Although I am still early in my sleeve experience but U will know it with your first sip of water! how water goes down! I am not hunrgy! like crazy hungry when I had the band.. I still get hungry but after progressing with ur food intake u feel satisfied right after! and for some time! I have lost 13 pounds in the first week.. nothing in my second and may be no more for a while, but as an old bandster I know this is sooo normal especially I am soo lighter than when I had my band! My first week WAS HELL! my second was MORE HELL! as I had to rely on stuff that always tasted so sweet to me like yogurt and milk. My tongue was like a sweet and sour.. But today after my first FOOD EVER I feel alive! I know I wont be that successful on the long run with all my food trials.. some are gonna suck for me, but at least my first meal gave me the boost.. and life is all about trials and experiences. Havent you been trying food with ur band? I am still weak and I dont know how can I go back to jogging .. but I know I will get there. Now I grabbed my first hershy kiss ever.. didnt feel guilty doing that btw, but I am already not hungry to keep going for another one.. with the band ehm... lol u know what you will be doing. The band isnt evil for me or for anyone cosidering it but you have to be realistic! It wont help u lose that much. VSG may not help me get there but I am not bothered by this now! cause the band didnt help me, I HELPED myself! so I will help me in this new journey! and I have faith I can have the half portion of success I see ppl accomplishing on this board:) If you are revising from band I would totally suggest VSG! you will feel more alive! your body is absorbing your food. you can eat ANYTHING! dont let anyone puts you down when u hear they cant eat that or this! remember ur band misery! (NO CHICKEN NO BEEF AND NO other more stuff) and remember with the band, VSG or even NO WLS you are the only one who is paving the road of ur sucess.. and when I say I may not get to my goal, it is just because I believe I dont have much as others to lose, I practically felt I dont need the surgery and I can do those last pounds on my own! but I KNOW I have the geen of weight problem! so I need a medical help to either stop me there or prevent me from putting more weight or EVEN HELP ME SHED THE POUNDS! It is a disease my friends, nothing to be ashamed of:) Thats my take on the whole thing! -
How many times and for how long were ur stalls?
Loooou replied to Loooou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Adri Oh thats exactly the one bad impact the stalls leaves on me:( it reminds me of past failure, as much as I appreciate whats my body doing to protect itself as much as it puts me in a misery state! though I chose to push harder still there is a sound inside of me that's shouting to get the negativity out! Seems like we all share the same semi pattern! SO here are things I do: I start looking for support instantly, messaging a dear friend who had VSG, talking to my family about it, Researching and REREADING stalls stories. THAT HELPS so the rhythm stays up! I am also upping my water intake like crazy that it hurts my throat lol, and seriously I will need a fixed ride to the restroom!! LOL ( it is becoming like an exercise) I also dont go crazy with carbs lowering, as it affects my mood to the worst but I try to have a bite or two of any carbs with my meal, but not breakfast! I cant handle carbs that early. I pay attention to coffee and lattes consuming, if I am ordering a grande drink ( Skinny) from starbucks I reduce it to tall. OVERALL the mystery of stalling will stay, but its our spirit that I DONT WANT IT TO BE CRUSHED! Somedays I have to wake up and shout at that negtive voice inside of me telling me "thats it, u will never go further" Its okay I think to be crazy:) -
Oh thank GOD! I was searching like crazy about this issue!! as today I have to stop myself from snacking .. I feel hungry all the time before my TOM starts and on the first 2 days too, I seem to be able to eat more too... its crazy, as if the hunger is back! then after the third day all of that fades away! but I am really hating this! I hate feeling vulnerable to food!.. so thank GOD I am not alone on this issue, although I would love it to never happen:(
