Post Partum Depression = weight gain, more depressed
JaspersGirl posted a topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hello all, I haven't logged onto here in about 2years. Since my WLS, I lost close to 100lbs, I felt beautiful and healthy. One goal was to get pregnant, and I did. I did not gain 1lb with my pregnancy, After I had my baby, I fit into my clothes with ease. Then post partum depression hit me..... I was put on meds and I have gained 40lbs, I don't know what to do.. I self weened from the meds because even my maternity clothes fit me tight!!!! Nothing fits me and on to a size 16-18. I am not hungry all the time like I did with them, but was wondering, the pouch test thing, would that help me get my tummy back to the size, I am so confused, I feel like I did the WLS and failed. Any suggestions, should I start my post op diet phase? I have no idea where to begin. Someone help please -

Hi Ladies, I am so happy I made that post "Let's get this ..whatever I put... lol, I seen a lot of responses. Unfortunately I got injured in my job, it's a matter of life or death so I have been trying to keep positive and hoping all is good at the end of my treatment. Today I got my liver results back and they are good! Sounds sad but when Dr said, no liquor due to meds could lead to liver damage, I started to crave cold drinkys especially when we had those crazy hot days! Anyways, been so busy with driving my mom around doing her pre op stuff!!! Also dealing with all the fun crazy graduation for my daughter <3 I have been super busy! But before all this crazyness, I was planning in my head a "Sleeve-lebration", I was hoping to do some kind of get together, perhaps in August? somewhere in the middle? some of us live in south side area, and some in north side area, why don't we just meet somewhere near downtown? Perhaps a picnic, we could all bring healthy Snacks, fruits, appetizers, etc. We can plan it better when the time comes. We can have clothes swap, even jewerly, or whatever we can to recycle? What does everyone think? I am open for suggestions Please chime in with anything You can follow me on facebook, just hit me a message saying you are from this group and i will accept you. I don't accept strangers but you guys are not strangers anymore http://www.facebook.com/#!/lety.ramirez.509 p.s majority of the peeps do not know I went through with the surgery, you know how people are So excited, hopefully everyone would love to join in a meet up, I know I do!

JaspersGirl replied to JaspersGirl's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
lol, sounds funny. People are amazed when they see me. "you are just 4 months pregnant and that big!"... it is part baby, part fat and part tumor", lol I am a hot oddly shaped mess. But yes baby is doing great and healthy Can't wait til the belly fills up and I look cute pregnant and not an oversized semi deflated plastic snowman fixture. -
16 wks, my tummy is shaping oddly after VSG

Hello Ladies, I haven't been on this website in prob over a year! I was sleeved in 2011 I think? I lost 85lbs and fluctuated 15lbs on/off. I was 237lbs. I got married in 2013 at 155lbs, and got pregnant weighing 176lbs. I am now at 179lbs and freaking out!!!! I am slowly gaining weight and now that I am pregnant I am afraid to "diet" afraid to work out (had 2 unsuccessful pregnancies at beginning of the year) and I also have a tumor growing with my baby Who else out there is pregnant and not sure how much is the normal weight gain. My biggest concern is that my top tummy part is a big droppy pouch, like a big W shaped roll of ugly dough! It was not like that until I got pregnant, like my body is oddly shaping into a blob... I don't have curves.. I am not an hour glass figure anymore.. it is a snow man but the middle part is the biggest part. I mean not cute pregnant round tummy but just a blob of Jello. I don't know why I am shaped like this... It must be the surgery and loose skin plus gaining weight? Anyone out there can help me understand or give me advice? Even if I wear maternity clothes, the hanging blobby thing looks worse. One of the main reasons I had WLS was to look cute when I would get pregnant and be healthy. I am not worried about gaining weight as much as I am worried about that big top muffin blobby thing growing overlapping my bottom gut. Sorta depressed, I know I prob sound stupid and vain. help..- 3 replies

Weight Loss Pills and Other Suppliments
JaspersGirl replied to MsSarena's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a patient who lost alot with her surgery but then hit a plateau for like 2 years and she did the hcg surgery. She lost and never gained back I actually was thinking of hcg diet drops. I did those before my surgery for a vacation.. lost 20lbs in 20 days! lol not sure if I will be able to stick to "diets" again, just healthy eating.. hcg diet is very strick! but that is why it worked I guess? -
I am sitting next to my mom's hospital bed watching her sleep. She just got sleeved and everything went well. I'm staying overnight. Boy! This beings back memories when I got sleeved 2yrs, 1 month and 5 days ago. Best decision we ever made!

That's great that she's supportive. My mom doesn't "need" me here but she was there for me during my 3 day stay so I decided to return the favor so she won't be alone and bored. It sucks being in the hospital. I work here and so does my dad so we know the ropes and get around with our badge as if it was home. It's fun, lol -

Leaving Nursing Job (Srubs), To Admin Position (Profession Clothes), Help! I'm In Need Of Size 10/12-13S
JaspersGirl replied to JaspersGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
WHAT A NIGHTMARE... so I ran into some financial struggles due to a family emergency so i could not buy new wardrobe after all! So I wore a size 14 pair of business like pants to my first day of work.. they fit me so big that I had to wear my jeans under them! It didn't look bad at all, but i couldn't feel the pants falling off of me a few times at work!!! lol, how terrible! poor me! I laugh about it now! ..so for the first week, I wore that pair of pants and 2 dresses I owned. So what i did was buy a few pair of skirts... I was having such a hard time to buy pants size 10/12 or even a tight 14. I am 5ft even so it was hard to find pants that will fit me good in length and good in thighs.. all of the seemed to big on the thighs and big on the booty... I did find JC Pennys pants in petite section fit me great! My husband bought me a pair for NYE party they were pink, I wore my black suede heel boots and a nice cream sheer shirt with it. I looked hott! -
Recently my job flipped 230 employees life around by doing ahuge lay off and moving some of us around. They put me on pms due to my seniority. I then had to think about me, my family and my safety. (I take the train to/from work, train at 2am in Chicago is very dangerous!) I don't have babysitter, our life got flipped upside down. I just got a call yesterday, offered job position but requires business dress up clothes! I have non! I have worked in nursing for years and years, so I never purchased business clothes with my new body. I start in 2 weeks and I have no money to buy a huge wardrobe!!!!! I kept using the same size 12 dress to every interview, even the 2nd interview for this position! If anyone is selling on ebay please send me links, if anyone is giving away or swapping, please let me know! I am also thinking of going to thrift shop and hopefully find some pieces!! Thank You!

I wish that 1st yr phase can last forever!but, this us a tool for us to get to a goal, and up to us to maintain. For lunch I'm thinking of having a protein shake.... I was joking to my daughter "how I wish I can have the surgery again!" Lol

now that I am almost 2yrs post op, it's harder for me to maintain my weight because I can eat a little more. I am going to start ordering these instead of eating normal stuff, lol

My husband is an ass
JaspersGirl replied to Rileysmama's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I go out all the time with my family, I went out for dinner a month out if surgery. We just have to choose from the menu. For example we went to Denny's one middle of the night. Hubby got his usual fatatastic food that he gains no weight from, lol I added those 1.99 side choices to his meal for me. I added a side salad with a side of shrimp kabob. A small meal for me yay! Or if I go out with friends or family I order whatever is the healthiest appetizer. -
