make sure to have chewable gas-x or the gas-x strips on hand at home along with lots of water and a heating pad...if you even feel the slightest big of gas discomfort...take a gax-x. That is what I did and only had a few bad gas pains. You will be fine. Anyone who can handle multiple C-sections is a champ!

Is there an online website that I can print a food/excersise journal off? Preferably a free site. I want to keep track of food, water and excersise. Thanks.

I have had 3 c-sections. This is much easier than a c-section. I never felt the abdominal pain that I did with the c-section. The pain is much, much less. This was just my surgery though, I am sure everyone has different pain levels.

I should say that right now I am just using a notebook. I want something with the columns for fat, protein, carb counts.

Just remember that 40 lb. weight loss is really good! It may not be as much as you would like but the weight didn't come on within 6 months and it may take awhile to loose it. I think a lot of people do not have realistic expectations...they just want it to fall off! It takes lots of work! Hang in there.

Drink tons of water...and just remember this is the hardest part of the whole thing. Once you get through this, you will be fine! It is definately worth it!

eating mushies to fast
brbm6 replied to options123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get the pain in my chest if I eat too fast (I am on mushie stage). I can feel it sitting there. Then I can feel it when it drops. Are you taking too big of bites? -
I was banded April 5th and last night my port was sore! It isn't every day anymore but just random days (and not all day).
-
I meant...True Results or TLC Edge...most doctors have the same cash price.
-
Here in Dallas/Ft. Worth it is 9,900 cash. True Results of TLC Edge

Tell her thanks but no thanks on her "out-dated" hand me down..tell her you like the styles that are in now. hahah Just kidding...but, wouldn't it be funny? Isn't it funny how teenagers can be right on the spot and know how to make someone feel good. They aren't all bad!

Can't believe I'm back here!
brbm6 replied to Sarah D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first time I checked into the band (2 yrs. ago) I went for a consult with a big 1800 billboard doctor. Something just wasn't right. They really never talked about success and support just $$$. It just didn't feel right and I left very uneasy and never went back. I was just banded by a surgeon here in our town at our hospital. What a difference. The nurses, nutritionist, everyone...FANTASTIC. There is something to be said for that one on one consultation. I think if you are really comfortable with the surgeon and you trust him then this time you will be successful! Good luck on your new adventure. Keep us posted. -
Shhh..don't tell my PCP!!!
brbm6 replied to jennifer1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you really like your PCP? If she is just okay, I think I would find another that would really support me. It may make it easier for your success. -
Oh my gosh! That is so funny that you mentioned this. Yesterday, at Wal-Mart my fip-flops were too big and were falling off!!!! Isn't it nice?

Fantastic thread! 1. Take the kids on a rock climbing adventure. 2. Go tubing down the Rio Grande (we like in Texas) 3. Go on a second honeymoon! Whoo Hoo!! 4. Buy some really expensive jeans that make my butt look good! 5. Go on some bumper cars (and actually fit!) 6. Go to the Texas state fair and walk all day! 7. Get on roller skates at the kids skate nights for school. 8. Go karting 9. See Jennifers #1 and 2

regret city....what have i done?
brbm6 replied to brooklynn2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think we have all had some kind of OH No! moment. Take really small bites and chew chew chew. That is what I have read on here and how I plan to introduce pasta and breads. You are not alone in your getting stuck fear. I was even afraid to start the mushy stage as I didn't want any stuck episodes. -
Does everyone Throw up?
brbm6 replied to Wheeler5051's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on April 5, 2011 and have not thrown up. I was very nauseous before surgery but they gave me something for that. My surgeon said if I ever feel sick or get the flu to CALL IMMEDIATELY. They do not want you to throw up! -
Well a lot of my weight has left but...

Will the insurance cover the Botox treatment? -
Congratulations!!! I can not wait until I no longer take BP meds! I have lost 35 lbs. and my energy level is way up. Amazing what loosing some weight will do! I am with you on wishing I had done it much sooner!
-
Congratulations!!! I can't wait for that feeling. You should be very proud.
-
Where do you look under at the Wal-Mart website for the shaker/mixer? I looked under health/nutrition and couldn't find it.
-
I was banded on the 5th of April and had similar symptoms in my chest. It was gas that would then radiate into my shoulder. I used Gas-X strips and chews. It has now gone! When in doubt though, I would call my surgeon and ask.

You are EXACTLY where I was 2 weeks ago as far as weight. I am almost 2 weeks out of surgery and I am at 280...I just started mushies last week. THE HARDEST thing was the Pre-op diet...it stinks. If you can make it through this you will be fine. The band DOES work if you work with it. Follow the rules and drink TONS of Water (like suggested). 54Shirtley is so right about the head hunger. YOU can do this! Take a deep breath...we have all felt the same way. I had a major anxiety attack in pre-op and the doctors were wonderful. They said they would be worried about me if I wasn't concerned about surgery. They gave me a nice "cocktail" mix in my I.V. and the next thing I remember is the nurses waking me up. You will look back in a few weeks after surgery and wonder why you did not do this sooner. I already have more energy than I have had in years! I can't wait to loose 20, 50, 100 lbs. more...I can not imagine how wonderful I will feel. Whenever you get anxious use this board. Everyone on here is so supportive and we all want you to succeed!

Seriously considering Lap Band
brbm6 replied to Petunia_5's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Petunia~ I would ask if you self-pay will they make you do all the testing? Then check with your insurance to make sure they will or will not cover and what testing you will need. -
Seriously considering Lap Band
brbm6 replied to Petunia_5's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Why did they make you go through all the testing if you are self-pay? They told me if I paid instead of going through insurance it was 9900.00 flat fee and they could schedule me within 2 weeks. Just curious...I ended up going through insurance and using a hospital instead.
