I will do it.

Yes it does but the tummy tuck is a harder surgery but the younger people do it a lot but as long as my insurance is willing to cover this I am happy. I go for an appointment just to talk to my surgeon on the 4th oct to find out anything I have missed about it.

Thank you Leebick for responding.

Well I guess there isn't anyone as old as I am that has had the pannulectomy. My pre-appointment is getting close and I am a little nervous and wonder if I should forget about having it done because of my age.

I was wondering if there were any women who had had the pannulectomy at 60-65 years old and how you did with healing

Hi Tracy, Hope you are having a good day. I am 9 months post op , my highest weight ever was 289 and I am now bobbing between 191 and 193. It took me 5 years to finally get my nerve up to do this and when I did finally decide it was time The nerves left the scared feelings left, I went in had the surgery and had a few rough days but only regret is why I wasted those 5 years. I only told my husband, kids and sisters, and still haven't told anyone. If they ask,I simply say I am trying lo-carb high protein which is exactly what we do. I am not going to tell you , you will never have a rough day, we do but they get better and better . I have so much more energy, My knees still hurt some but I deal with it. I would get down when my weight would stall but it has happened so many times I just except it now. IT HAPPENS. Keep being positive , keep telling yourself it will be a better life and pray. You will be fine . If you would like to stay in touch by email that is fine , I don't get on Bariatricpal too often so I may not see your post for a few days. My email is phart9@cox.net. Hope the nervousness goes away. You can do this. -

I guess it all depends on your Dr. I have never heard of a process to surgery going that quick, the quickest I have ever seen is 6 months ,my BMI is 54 and I started May 11 and surgery should be Nov. -

I hope it all works out for you . I think all of our children would be worried for the surgery but she will probably be fine once you come thru the surgery fine and you are losing weight and getting healthier. Just let her know you wouldn't be doing this if you didn't think it was going to help you. GOOD LUCK. -

Hello deuel30 I too have BCBS ppo and I am doing my 6 month supervised weight loss appointments now. I hate that we have to take that long. It gives us to think. I am using Cone Health in North Carolina. They haven't said I need 3 years of weight loss info. I am going to my 3rd weight loss appointment on June 15. I hope you do really well. -

I haven't had surgery yet and I have read where several are saying they wake up and don't know where they are at times , This being after they get home? That puzzles me, some that has experienced this could you explain this a little more , Is it the pain meds or does this surgery really mess with our memory?
