About Me
Having the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy surgery on April 26th.
I can never remember a time when I was not heavy, chubby, fat, big boned, husky or at least very aware of my weight...I had a magic period of time right after high school and until I was maybe 22 when weight was not a problem. I always enjoyed lifting weights, I played football/wrestled and had a very active lifestyle. Later in life I snorkeled and am a certified diver - sustained an injury to my pelvis that sidelined me in my mid 30's and the weight has just been piling on since then.
My father was morbidly obese and had Roux-en-Y Surgery, one of my sisters had WLS and my other sister is obese. My mom is the best but she is a fatso like the rest of us - talk about a gene pool.
I work a sedentary job as a computer engineer for HP, I also used to perform music professionally as well. I haven't been on stage in a few years as I am honestly just embarrassed and self conscious of my weight. I decided to get "sleeved" after non stop attempts at dieting have failed.
The only diet that has ever worked for me is the Atkins diet - I must have lost and regained a few hundred pounds with it over the last decade plus. Now, even at zero carbs my weight is not coming off - I am excited about the surgery and getting my life BACK.
