I do fine until about 5pm then I am craving some flavor! I've never had to abstain from food like this. Hardest thing I've done in a long time. I'm about to have a bowl of chicken broth and hopefully that will help. Can I really do this for 10 more days?

July 11 is my date too! Today was difficult.

So Much Head Hunger, How Do You Slay The Dragon?
SophieJaneB replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WHen you say enormous meal at Red Lobster, how much do you mean? It's probably nothing compared to before, so I wouldn't worry too much about that meal. I would think to only keep good things in the house that are on-plan to eliminate the temptation. You got this!! -
Day 4 Pre-Op Diet: This Is Hard!
SophieJaneB replied to SophieJaneB's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I've had to stop my self several times from mindlessly reaching for something. It's like I reach out for a bag of chips on the counter (from the kids) and I have to say "oh, yeah, liquid diet, duh!" lol. I'm so used to just mindlessly grabbing stuff! I have not cheated one time, and don't plan to either. I'm the type that if I take an inch, I take a mile. So no cheating for me. -
Anyone Else Have A Surgery Date In July? Excited And Terrified!
SophieJaneB replied to chromerose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me too! I'm young, but already have extra skin after pregnancies, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to have a little nip tuck. But I'm all for that! lol -

Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
SophieJaneB replied to SophieJaneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all the input. My kids are going to be taken care of, my parents are going out of town and are taking the kids with them. I still tried to tell my hubby to stay home, I really don't want to worry about how bored, uncomfortable he is, or if he's eaten. And my hub can be a bit of a complainer! Definitely do NOT want to deal with that. Although he keeps saying i'm crazy and he's going to be there. I still might try to convince him to spend the night elsewhere, because he'll probably drive me nuts. lol -
i'm using Bariatric Advantage, and doctor said I could mix it with skim milk or FF soy milk. It helps!

I'm on day 4 of the liquid diet. 4-5 meal replacement shakes/day. and 64 oz of water, broth or jello. It's hard! And I've been sluggish. Hoping it gets better and that I feel better. Very low energy.

No Overnight Stay?
SophieJaneB replied to Christine1322's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have heard of that, and usually they will come and visit at the hotel. Dr. Thomas Borland in New Iberia, Louisiana does the same thing. They send you with nausea and pain medication, and do several follow ups before you go home! -
Did/will You Announce Your Surgery?
SophieJaneB replied to thehappycat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My immediate family, and some close friends know, and I told them that I am keeping it on the down low- not going to become a "poster child" for WLS. However, when I start dropping a lot of weight, if there are people that are sincerely wanting to know (possibly thinking about WLS themselves) then I'll be happy to talk about it, in order to share with them what helped me. But I feel the same way, I do not want my weight loss to be a topic of discussion on facebook, or anywhere else, It's really nobodies business, but if they can be helped by me sharing my story, I will certainly share -
aw man! that stinks.

Can I Leave The Husband At Home?
SophieJaneB replied to SophieJaneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I forgot to say that he would drop me off and pick me up. He will stay if I want him to, but I really am thinking I'd rather him be with the kids. I'll have lots of help by the nurses. (we have small kids) -

12 Year Old Gastric Sleeve Patient
SophieJaneB replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The video looks like the girl was extremely happy, said she enjoyed her weight loss, and was very happy. So I don't see the problem as long as the PARENTS and the CHILD come to a decision together! That being said, personally, I wouldn't agree to let my child do it until they were older because of the risks of surgery. But if HER parents were okay with it, I think they made the right choice, she is well and happy, and looks like it improved her life quite a bit.
