  1. Hello all, I'm from Aransas Pass. looking for any area sleevers on the boards. let's hear ya' Sleeving Feb. 2 2011 Dr. Nilesh Patel
  2. I knew it was gonna happen sometime, Dr. told me to keep up with 2 shakes a day(which i haven't done) and increase my water intake. What sux is that i'm pretty close to goal! the interesting thing is that clothing sizes keep going down but the scale won't move much! weird huh? I still feel great and people don't recognize me when they see me for the first time since my journey began. No regrets here!!! LIFE IS GOOD!
  3. 5 months out and finally hit the brick wall that is a stall. What has worked for those who have stalled. i was thinking on going back to the 2 shakes a day and a meal. what are your suggestions? thanks for the help!
  4. my shoulder(gas)pain was real bad for about 5 days...Walking really helps it go away...but it does go away!
  5. I wore mine until i didn't feel i needed it anymore. Everyone is different and has different pain thresholds.
  6. Hello all, Well, it's been 3 months since my surgery, and i have to tell you it's been a wonderful ride so far. Since showing up for the first Dr. visit, i've managed to lode 60# and most importantly KEEP IT OFF! my weight loss has slowed almost to a stop, but thats ok, i know it does from time to time, and i don't fret about it too much. It's just time to add more to my exercise routine i suppose. to anyone thinking about getting the sleeve done, don't hesitate! I only had pain for the first 3-4 days and it was manageable, no nausea, or any of the other horror stories you read about from time to time. i think it's important to be as healthy as you can be before the surgery, and follow the doctors instructions to the T. Buying clothes is fun again, being able to buckle a seat belt in an airplane, way cool, and your energy level is astonishing. life is good!
  7. since surgery lost 40# but now i have been stalled for 2 weeks... is there a way to jump start the process, or just wait it out?
  8. Hello guys and gals, Just a little over 2 months out now and all is great! Since i started this journey,i've gone from 301 to 240, managed to tick off about half of my goals on mo pre surgery weight loss sheet! I must say that my recovery was a breeze, and the weight loss awesome! If you are having doubts...Don't. it's really worth it. i'm presently in a stall...but it happens, and i know this is just a minor setback. now i'm able to actually have the energy to do 3 miles on a treadmill and get in a good toning resistance training on the bowflex no pain...no pain! just do it and don't look back!!!
  9. I vote to make this a sticky!!!!! GREAT STUFF
  10. WOW I was having problems choking the shakes down until i discovered Torani sugar free syrups!!!! these things are tolerable now! you should try em'
  11. You can use this syrup in just about anything you want "sweet". tale plain ol' water ant unflavored protein powder, and a Torani, there you go! the protein shakes got too monotonous, so i jazz them up with it. The best selection we found here so fat was at World Market at $ t6-7 a big bottle. not too crazy about the hazelnut or the caramel in a shake, but the sf rasberry is my fave so far. enjoy!
  12. Someone is bound to know the answer to this one. all the Protein powders my nut recommends are whey protein isolate. We were looking at the different brands and types today,, and the carbs, sugars and protein contents were close. what are the differences between whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate and soy protein...other than the obvious soy-milk base. how will they affect the bariatric patient. i am 6 weeks out and have no problem with milk or soy. thanks
  13. has anyone had any issues with blood pressure control during your weight loss with your sleeve? for the first 2 months, i was really good.120/70, then it spiked to 170/100. went to see my PCP and he said the honeymoon phase of the surgery is over, now time to start the meds again? i was on 3 different meds before surgery, was hoping to get off all meds. at least they are the cheap ones. with meds, i'm back to normal. anyone else had any issues
  14. Thanks for the clarification! just what i was looking for
  15. REALLY??? 41 views and no answers.
  16. please send me one too!!! thanks dcoates18481@hotmail.com
  17. PLEASE HELP I'm 6 weeks out and before surgery, i could take the shakes with no problems(taste, amount etc), but now they taste horrible, and make me slightly queasy. I have used GNC isopure, and muscle milk lite, tried all flavors. i have some isopure unflavored powder, and that's not too bad, but still has the aftertaste. anyone else have this problem? Is there something better? lost 53# so far and couldn't be happier. Dave

To me, it don't matter what anyone else thinks, they don't know what we go through being fat for so long. Cheating my ass! going through major surgery is cheating??? someone needs to put the pipe down and come back to reality! thats just me...
