Hi,
I am Cassandra, 31 yrs old and was banded on 11/8/11. I weighed 288 on my surgery date and weigh currently as 274. I had to have the surgery in the hospital setting, my insurance paid for the surgery fully. I went ahead and stayed the night in the hospital since I don't tolerate pain that well. I had my surgery at 8am and didn't wake up fully until 3 pm in the afternoon. All the nursing staff at IU bloomington hospital was wonderful and they helped me with all my questions.
I had only discomfort when I was getting up from the bed or couch, and couldn't bend over fully without discomfort for about 1 week. I was on liquids for one week and didn't feel like I was full, my doctor gave me the okay to start some soft food. I didn't have no problems with eating soft food so early after my surgery.
I noticed the first week after surgery I lost 12 lbs immediately, then after that I noticed I been losing inches in my waist.
If there anyone from Indiana or else where who wants to chat, or give me suggestions I am open to anyone.
My family and friends were aware of my surgery. Only two my in laws were not told because they scared that I was going to die from this procedure. I haven't found the right time to tell them because they are against the procedure. I have no complications.
Can anyone tell me when they eat do they drink with their dinner like few sips. That is one thing I have trouble with. I haven't had no pop for over 2 months and don't have no desire to drink it.
One thing I noticed with this surgery that I have problems with is constipation. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow to give me some ideas about what to take. I don't have no problems with IBS no more, quit taking my medicine for it. I don't have acid reflux no more. I just notice I have bloating after I eat. I take some gas x. Does anyone have any suggestion. I haven't tried Beano yet. I just hate taking medicine.
I do take my multi-Vitamin daily. I have to watch drinking the carnation Breakfast drinks they seem to go right through me.
I wish everyone good luck.
