    Farewell Meal

I had several "Farewell Meals" along the way. I took my favorites and had a final night with a few of them. So very strange that I would think that way but it is what it is. For me it was pizza, Chinese, Pasta and fast food Breakfast. A few weeks ago I ordered pizza for the family, ordered myself a medium and ate the entire thing in one evening plus bread sticks - funny that now I can barely get a Protein shake down and a few weeks back I ate enough pizza for 4 people. I think theres some value in having the farewell meal or meals, If it helps you move on then go for it and get it behind you. I think it helped me a lot mentally.
  3. I'm doing good. Struggling to get everything in, made my first homemade Protein shake today. I was able to sip about half of it down over an hour or so. It's really hard because I really have no appetite. Very strange for me but I'm rolling with it. Everything is rumbling and moving inside today, lots of loud noises and gas. Hoping that all goes away soon and I get a little appetite back so I can enjoy my shakes and yogurts and such. Then again, I've only been out of surgery two days so I'm probably being a little impatient. I'm wishing you the best of luck and want to hear all about your journey when you feel good enough to share with us.

    Some Protein Thoughts

I have looked into the Protein shots as well. They have them at GNC and Vitamin world locations. I was kicking around the idea of trying some of the protein pudding too. They have a sugar free pudding with 30g of protein. My nutritionist highly recommended the Liquid Protein shooters.

    Good luck July 7 Sleevers

Well things are really starting to "move" around this morning. Sleep last night was kinda broken but I feel rested and refreshed. Had some decent heartburn last night so I slept in the recliner sighting up slightly and that helped a lot. Woke up at about 5am feeling good. Sipped some water and took a little nap til 730. I took a shot of my liquid vicodin and the acid came back almost immediately. I will be using that as little as possible now that I know it's one of the culprits. But like I said, things are moving today - my abdomen is rumbling and growling like crazy. Gas is finally starting to pass and I'm sitting here sipping a decaf coffee. Weighed in this morning and I was down 4.5lbs since the day before surgery. Hope everyone is doing well - good luck to all those that are going on Monday, I'm sure this will be a long, exciting and anxious weekend for you all!!!!

    Good luck July 7 Sleevers

I'm doing good - just battling through the gas pains and minor indegestion. It comes and goes and usually only lasts a minute or so. Looking forward to a full night sleep and waking up a new man tomorrow!!!

    July Master List

Hey Hansi, Don't worry about the head hunger too much. After your surgery today you won't want a bite of anything. I'm struggling to sip on Water, garorade and tried to have some broth. You won't want to eat anyting for a while! Someone could walk in here and hand me a double bacon cheesburger and I wouldn't touch it. Once you feel nausea after the surgery you won't ever want that to come back.

    I'm home...

Hey Wendy Glad to hear you're at home!!!! I can relate to the nausea afterwards - wow that sucked so bad. Today was much easier and the pain and nausea still come and go but are smaller and easier to fight through. It's really nice to be home and to be on the "other side" as so many of you have said. I've often wondered what this day would feel like and now I can tell you it's very exciting. Hang in their Wendy, time marches on and you'll be a week out before you know it. That's what I keep telling mysef.

    Good luck July 7 Sleevers

Hello everyone! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. Everything Worked out ok today for surgery. The day started out a 5:30, got to the hospital at 6. Surgery was right at 8 and I was out like a light. Next thing I knew I was in recovery. The next hour was ruff. I was so uncomfortable and nauseous that I couldn't take it. Once the anti nausea drugs and pain killers kicked in I was surviving but miserable. Longest hour of my life it seemed like. Another hour and more pain and I was heading for the room. The rest of the afternoon and evening have been spent sleeping and resting. I've had spurts were I gelt like a million bucks and othe times I thought I was going to puke. It's kinda neat laying here in bed know that this long hard journey is almost complete. No to Move on to the rest of my life. Without the weight.

    July Master List

Prayers and well wishes going out to todays Sleevers!!! I'm heading in for a preop appiontment in a few hours. I woke up this morning and it hit me like a ton of bricks! So nervous and so excited that I can hardly take it. Can't wait for tomorrow to get here. My surgery isn't til noon so I'll have plenty of time to freak out in the morning! :D
  19. I've got to be completely honest with you and say - Good for YOU!!! If you went on vacation and only gained 2lbs and ate everything you wanted than in my opinion the Sleeve has proven it's benefit to you. I can't tell you how many vacations I've been on and routinely gain 10-15lbs in a week. You went all out - enjoyed yourself and picked up 2 pounds. No biggie. Live your life knowing that a few times a year you can go all out on a vacation and enjoy yourself - come home and get back on the horse and get on with your life. I would look at it as a blessing.
