OMG!!!! I was just on here yesterday saying how happy I was to be here and that I was waiting for my second consult, WEEELLLL....yesterday afternoon I got as call to schedule the consult. WELLL.... they got me in TODAY!!! I now have a surgery date of September 10th!!!!!!! That is 2 1/2 weeks away!!!!! I CAN NOT believe it!!!! I'm soooo excited!!!!:thumbup: Now is the really hard part, I have to tell my parents!!!! LOl!!! You would think being 42 years old it would not be such a big deal, but it is!!! I feel like I'm 16 again going to ask them to do something I know they will not like!!!! I really value their opinion and I want them to be happy, not freaked out!!! I keep telling myself that I have had 6 weeks to process all of this and they are going to be caught totally off guard!!!! Please keep me in your prayers this weekend!!!!:001_unsure: Y'all will be hearing a lot from me!!! Thank you so much for all of the encouraging words and helpful hints!!! Thank you soo much for the insipiring words! My Dad has always been very supportive in my weight loss. He split the cost of Jenny Craig with me, because there was no way I could afford it. I think they will come around. I think he and my step mom will be ok. My mom & step dad will take some talking to! My mom is such a worry wart! It drives us all crazy! She'll have to figure it out!

That is ridiculous!!!! I'm glad you told them no!!! Don't worry about being worked in!! These Dr. are used to having busy schedules, and he probably doesn't even know the story! I'll keep you in my prayers! I know you will do great!! Don't worry!

Hi, I'm Kim (KKB) I am soo exctied to be here! I have been reading and researching for a while, but now I made my decision 100% on the sleeve! (thanks to much help and advise from you!) I have done the sleep study, stress test, and EGD now just waiting for my second consult and date! I can't believe how fast everything is going! Kinda hard to wrap my mind around it! I just wanted to say Hi & thank you, and glad to finally be a part of the group! :thumbup:

I finally made my decision after a month of prayer & research I have decided to go with the sleeve rather than bypass. I feel sooo much better finally making the decision!!! Now is the hard part....I have to tell my family!!!!
My husband has never been a fan of WLS, but after going to my Dr. with me and asking a lot of questions he is coming around. He is being very supportive. I wouldn't be able to do it without him!
My family's opinion is very important to me and I'm so afraid they are going to freak out and try to talk me out of it! I'm already nervous enough without hearing a lot of negativity!!! Please pray for me!!!!
I excited to start this journey! I have really enjoyed this website and all of the inspiring stories! I'm looking forward to getting to you y'all better and hopefully can help inspire someone too!

I have been researching like crazy and have finally decided to go with the sleeve! I am going to tell my family this weekend, and I'm really freaking out!!! I am soo afraid that they will all flip out and will try to keep me from doing it!!! I really value their opinion and I want to have their support more than anything! My husband has never liked the idea, but after going with me to the Dr. and asking a lot of questions he has come around. He is being very supportive. I would never be able to do it without him!!! Hi, I am so confused with which surgery to go with. I have read so many things about both bypass & the sleeve that I'm totally torn. My Dr. first suggested bypass, but said I could do either one. I'm just curious what made you choose the sleeve over bypass?:scared0: Thank you for your help!!!!

I can not thank y'all enough for all of your help!!!! I feel deep down that the sleeve is the best option. Sometimes I think you can read too much & it is so overwhelming! It is soooo much better to talk to people that have actually gone through it!!! My Dr. is Dr. Barker in Dallas. He has a very good reputation and I really liked him & love his staff. It has only been a week since I started this journey, but things are moving very fast! I have excellent insurance, so that is not an issue. Thank you again so much for your help!!!! I appreciate it more than you know!!! Glad to be here!!! I know you will hear from me again!!!
